Winter Scene and Cygnets!

Hi Everyone, how are you today? well I hope and coping as well as you can be. I do hope you have the lovely weather that we are having here in Inverness, it's just glorious, but going by the weather reports it's to change come Sunday and be much colder, we are making the most of it while we can.

I took myself out early to go and see the new cygnets at the university campus, they were hatched around the weekend, Alistair has been down to see them a few times and reported that there were 7, actually there are 8. darling wee bundles of fluff. I took some photos which I'll pop on at the end of this post.
On route to the campus, I stopped off at our local bakers and who should be waiting to go in but my son, and of course the pups in the car. That was a great treat as I've not seen them since before the lockdown. Damian is on furlough just now, but his work is keeping him up to date with all the are doing in the building to keep folk safe when they are all back to work. Knocking down walls, buying the building next to them so that office workers can have more room. But the best part for Damian is that it's been proved that working from home is viable, conferencing by video is the way forward, and will safe company money by not flying down to M&S HQ  to speak to buyers and whatnot. But more importantly, not having to make the journey every day from Inverness to Buckie...that's Aberdeenshire, which puts three hours on to his working day and that's when it's fine weather, during the winter it's a treacherous road.
I think many employers will be evaluating there working practises when this is over which could be a good thing, less pollution for one thing. Let's hope so, and that will be one good thing to come out of this horrendous virus.

I've got a card today for Hazel's challenge at;
https://www.fezziwigsfestivefrolics.com/2020/05/fezziwig-says-anything-festive-goes.html

Stamp by Whimsy and watercoloured with Altenew Watercolour paints. DI  for the sky and an old EF on blue card. Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, added glitter and some clear gems.

Now for the best photos;

Just so lovely, the parents are brilliant and have managed to keep every one of there cygnets safe over the years they have been here, let's hope that this year is no different.

Right, off to get settled to listen to our First Minister giving her daily update, and I truly hope she is not going to follow Johnston's decision to relax the lockdown measure yet, it's too soon, far too many people still dying and being admitted to hospital, and the lockdown has made a difference without a doubt.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments you leave....about everything.
Keep yourselves safe and see you another day,

Gings Inverness to Buckie is a some journey!!! Sounds like that will make a huge difference for him once things start to normalise!! I love the festive make and adore the wee swans!! Ive not been to the local pond where the swans live here as I guessed a lot of folk would be walking there and its not too easy to social distance.Thank You for sharing with me over on Fezziwigs Festive Frolics this fortnight, Hazel xx

Beautiful card Kate....and love the photos of the cygnets...how sweet are they....
We all hope that the lockdown is going to continue down here ...I think that there is a bit of fake news doing the rounds as all Johnston’s twitter is saying it’s too early to lift....having said that our B&Q has opened with social distancing measure...and M&S are doing the same thing....not that we are going out more than the weekly food shop......take care xxx

What a lovely surprise to catch up with Damian. Yes I believe a lot will change and this will become the new normal. Such a pretty Christmas card and quite atmospheric. Yay to the swans and their cygnets x. Yes I agree with you about not lifting the restrictions here in Scotland x.

What a gorgeous Xmas card, love the pop of red. As for the pics, how cute are they. I think any changes to the lockdown will be very gradual. I am in no hurry to go out more though I would like to be able to spend time with my Mum and a few close friends even social distancing indoors or the garden.

Lovely card Kate and how lucky to be able to see baby swans.

I agree I think companies are going to find they don't need to require employees to physically come into an office to work anymore. It would sure save the company money not renting office space.

Your scenic card is gorgeous Kate as are those cutie little cygnets.
I think alot of companies will offerhome work after this. John's son is now working all week from home whereas before he worked 3 days. He is saving 40 quid a week in train fares alone,
I think it's the way to go for alot of companies.
