With Sympathy!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and that your week is good so far. Autumn has certainly settled in up here, really chilly in the mornings and  evenings,and more cardigans getting worn, I'll be looking out the gloves soon.

I have one of those cards we all hate to make, and I never thought I would be making this one.

My cousin got in contact the other day to say that her Son had died the week before, and  at this time it wasn't known what had caused his death. He was a good bit younger than Damian, I think perhaps late 30s or early 40s. I was so shocked. I'd only ever met Steven a few times, and tended to me up with my cousin at weddings and funerals, keeping in touch with Christmas cards sort of thing. I can't even imagine what she and her family are going through just now. Just how does a parent cope with the loss of their child. Anyway, here's the card I made for her;

I've had the decoupaged flowers for ages, backed it with some  pearlised paper and then added paper from Crafty Individuals and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted. Finishing off with a few pearls.

I'll finish off here with a thank you for the lovely comments on my Christmas cards, keep safe and see you soon,

Non Traditional Colours for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well, and that your weather is good.

It's time once again for the Christmas Card Club Challenge and this time it's our lovely Zoe who's chosen Non Traditional Colours as the theme. Well I've managed two cards, one is certainly non trad, not too sure about the other one;

This is a Woodware stamp, I think it's one of the new ones for this season, as you can see the colours are not traditional ones. Coloured with a mixture of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers, some gems and Stickles.

Another Woodware gnome stamp, and it took me ages to work out that his hat is a snowman, anyhoo, all shades of blue and coloured again with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.Sequins and Stickles. I hope these will do Zoe, and thank you for the super challenge, much enjoyed.

What a fright I got the other night when I heard an almighty thud, and realised that Alistair had fallen out of bed. Now our bedroom is tiny, not much room to swing a cat, and the poor man had landed awkwardly in the small space between the bed and the wall, and I thought I'm never going to get in there to help him up, luckily, he managed to get on his knees and gradually back on to the bed, he was still half asleep. Said he wasn't hurt so thankfully we settled down. Knowing he was okay...I always worry about him cracking his head on the bedside cabinet, and also injuring his hip, I kept playing it around my mind until I was laughing hysterically. His guitar is leaning against the wall, and his behind somehow got wedged in the strings, I've never seen anything so funny, so asking him what on earth happened, he said he was skiing and came off the edge of the cliff as someone was chasing him. Now he often had dreams where he is skiing, but this is the first time he's come a cropper. We are still laughing about it.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my last post. Since then I've finished another pair of socks and received some new yarn to knit socks for Christmas presents.

Remember to have a look at what the other CCC girls have created, their cards are always fabulous.

That's me for now, keep safe and  see you soon,

It's a Sock Thing!

 Hello Everyone, the start of another week, I wonder what it will bring?? Gales for us according to the weather people and getting colder, so this post is quite apt.

Here are a few pairs of socks I've knitted over the last few months;

It will soon be time to get these woolly wonders on to keep the tootsies warm.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you leave, I find it so encouraging.

That's me for now, just a short post this evening, so keep yourselves safe and hope to be back soon,

Today it's all about You!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well. Can hardly believe we are almost hitting another weekend, these weeks are going by so fast.

We had a lovely day today, it's now chucking it down,still I managed a whirly of towels, a bit of gardening and some knitting, with vacuuming in between, oh and some ironing, so I've been quite productive, feet up tonight.

Thank you for the lovely comments you leave on my blog, it's so much appreciated.

I have a card today,

 This is one of my favourite stamps, had it for years, it's a Penny Black Slapstick stamp and I've coloured it with Copic markers and added some glitter and sequins. A Memory Box flower die that I've also had for years. The hessian is from Sara Davis, can't remember the range. The background papers is from an Autumn paper pad by Sara Davis. I love this little cute cat's expression. The card is for a friend's birthday.

That's all from me for now, so keep yourselves safe and see you soon,

Luna!

 Hello Blogging Friends, hope you've had a good day. I was at my aqua class this morning,  It always surprises me that I enjoy it so much, and I think it's doing me some good. Then a quiet afternoon catching up with Vigil and  The North Water on iPlayer. I'm totally gripped by Vigil, not sure about the other drama, too much violence towards animals, and they've not even got to the whales yet, yes it's a grim sort of drama. I should have been doing some ironing, but what the heck, there's always another day😊

Thank you for the lovely comments on my CCC card, very much appreciated both your visits and the time it takes you all.

I have one of my pictures today;

This illustration is from Maria Trolle's new book Luna, and I've used mainly FC Polychromos, and Luminance on the little girl.

Here is the book, I have to say I love this artist's colouring books, and Alistair gave me this one for my birthday way back in June, here is the name plate page,

This has been coloured with FC Polychromos too.

Well that's me for now, I'll get a visit to your blogs before I settle down for the evening, so you all take care of yourselves, the Covid virus is still raging, so be careful and I'll see you soon,

Poinsettias for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, how are you today? well I hope and enjoying your weekend.

We are hoping to go to Aviemore later for a walk, it's a slightly better day weatherwise, at least it's not raining.

I'm not a tennis fan, but I've been captured by Emma Raducanu, what a marvellous young lady, and she so deserved her win last night,I'm sure some of you watched her match, unfortunately I have no clue about the rules or how the scoring works, but what an exciting match.

Anyway, it's time for the Christmas Card Club Challenge, where did the last two weeks go! and it's Rita who chose the challenge of Poinsettias, always a favourite with the team, here is what I've made;

Everything about this card is old. The card base is the last card from a very old set of Hunkydory cards bought from Create and Craft way back in the days when I started crafting, must be about 14 years ago. The paper, is from an old Papermainia Christmas pad, the poinsettia is a Sue Wilson one, Gold card is a Centura Pearl one, brand escapes me at the moment. Docrafts ribbon, a few gems and some Stickles. I only managed one card this time.

A lovely challenge Rita, thank you.

That's me for now, housework calls, I'll be back soon, remember to have a look at what the other CCC ladies create, their cards are always fabulous. Take care,

With Sympathy!

 Good Evening to You All, I hope you are tickity Boo, and looking forward to the weekend.

I'm a bit late in posting, it's been a busy day, although it seems as if I've got nothing done, It's been a misty day and drizzly rain so I didn't get towels out, hate that they now have to dry indoors, but that's weather for you.

I have a Sympathy card here, one I made quite a time ago,

All the dies and artwork are by Carnation Crafts. When I bought this set I didn't intend them to be used for a sympathy card, but when one was called for, I thought it worked really well as it's a serene scene. The sentiment is one by Woodware.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post, I always appreciate the time you take to visit and leave your comments.

That's me for now, keep safe everyone, and I'll see you soon,

Lotus Flower!

 Good Evening Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well and that you have lovely plans. Mine is just a quiet one, but quiet's good, although I have to do the food shopping tomorrow a task I hate and putting it all away I hate even more, but needs must.

Anyway, thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post, most appreciated.

I've got a coloured page today;

This lovely girl is from Grazia Salvo's Flowers and Gems Colouring Book,

This is the first attempt at a darker skin, and it does look darker in real life, I think I've bleached the colours when editing the photo, anyway never mind, I'm still pleased with how it turned out.

She is coloured with Polychromes pencils and soft pastels in the background.  Hope you like her.

That's all for now, keep yourselves safe and see you soon,

Just for You!

 Hello All, I hope you are well and enjoying life.  It's been a warm sunny day here, but there is definitely an Autumn chill in the air. Yesterday I gave in and put some heating on, I just couldn't get warm and I was wearing a fleece.

Thank you all so much for visiting and leaving such lovely comments on my cards/pictures...even socks, although I've not posted socks for a while. I have a sock on the pins just now and for some reason thought it was my second one, but it isn't , I'll have to get a wiggle on as I'll soon be needing them.

Here is my card for today;

  This Carnation Crafts shoe die card was for a friend's birthday in July. The background die and sentiment is also Carnation Crafts, I just added some pearls and a bit of sparkle.

I was listening to our First Minister today and Scotland's covid is pretty high, but as yet there seems to be no restrictions, other than what is there already. I am constantly seeing folks going into the supermarket with out sanitizing either their hand or trolleys, I find it's all quite worrying that there's a load of the population who seem to think that precautions don't matter any longer, and as for social distancing....that's gone completely out the window. Rant over!!

Well that's me for now, take care of yourselves, cheerio,
