MR. & MRS.!

Good Evening to all my Blogging Friends and Visitors, I hope you've had a good day.
We have had another lovely day here in Inverness, but I did feel a chill in the air this morning, heralding the start of Autumn, me thinks, my favourite season.

Well Alistair had a wonderful walk in the mountains yesterday, but as usual overdid it, so he is suffering with stiff legs today. Bless him, is now saying he does too much and that he is  a dafty, but I don't suppose he'll stop.

I was really naughty last night as I didn't go to choral practise as I wanted to watch the Salmond/Darling Debate, when I texted my choral buddie to tell her, she was playing hooky for the same reason, I wonder how many other didn't go.  I know how I'm voting, but I was hoping to hear more about the NHS, but the currency took over once again, so I don't feel I've learnt anything new.
Anyway, I will have to catch up with the music I've missed.

My card tonight is a Wedding Card;

This was a card that was commissioned, and I decided to keep the focus on the Mr. & Mrs. Die which is from Tattered Lace, I cut the die out in silver card and stuck it behind, just setting it offside a little.
Papermainia, Eau de Nile paper, and Core'dinations.
MB Precious Hearts in Silver and Eau de Nile card
Ribbon is Papermania
Hobby House Pearls and WO Flower

I hope the Mr. & Mrs. to be like it, I wasn't given anything to go on, so here's hoping.

We did enjoy our evening out on Sunday at Cawder Castle at the play, it remained dry, but got quite chilly towards the end of the performance, but we were toasty.  The play was really good, just a small cast, all guys, even Juliet,  it was interesting to say the least.
There was quite a good turnout, no so many luvvies as before, but the guy sitting next to me was on his mobile the whole of the performance, not talking, but keeping a watch on ebay I think, honestly, phones has become an extension of limbs now.   The downside of the evening was the midges, I was eaten alive with them, and the crown of my head is all raised with their bite and so itchy, and around the hairline it's all red bumps.  I must have some super blood for them to feast off.  We stupidly never gave these horrible pests a thought, when we could have put on some protection.

I just want to welcome Mary who is my latest follower and incidently one of my fellow members of the CCC, so I hope you'll come back often.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments on my previous card, I love reading them and appreciate your time and encouragment.

That's me for tonight, take care everyone and I'll see you soon,

Forest Robin for the Christmas Card Club!

Good Evening Everyone, I hope your Saturday has been a good one and that you are all tickity boo!
It's been a mixture of weather here in Inverness, and quite a bit cooler in the afternoon, but after doing some food shopping I was indoors for the rest of the day, having a great time knitting and card making.  Unfortunately my friend Karen called off our breakfast date as she hadn't been too well through the night.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my Xstitch pictures, and for your advice on how to get the creases out. I wasn't able to get frames of the sizes I needed, so I've decided to enquire at the framing shop about cost of having them framed there.  I think it's pretty expensive though, but at least it will be framed right.

We are doing something quite different tomorrow night.  Our friend Sean gave us tickets for a play at Cawder Castle (of Macbeth fame), as he now can't manage to go. It is performed outside in the gardens and it's Romeo and Juliet, played traditionally by an all male cast, the love scenes should be especially interesting.  Anyhow, the idea is that we take a picnic and wine or something to drink, and sit around being very pretentious.  We went to a performance like this a good few years back, and watching the audience was of interesting,  lots of "Darlings", all dressed the part with linen suit's and panama hats, and that was just the guys, floaty dressed and and parasoles and champagne.

We will be going with warm clothes and a flask of coffee and profiteroles from M&S Dine in for Two, and we'll think we're so decadent.

Well, it's time again for the CCC to show their cards and this time the theme is to have a Cardinal Bird or another Christmas Bird on your card.  Now as I don't know what a Cardinal bird looks like, I had to settle for a Robin;
This theme was chosen by Mary, and for it I've used a decoupaged Robin, matted on to Gold Tattered Lace Paper, Green Core'dination card embossed with a Papermainia Snowflake Folder, Gold ribbon and Gold Gems from my Box, Sentiment an old one from last year's stash.  Lots of Star Dust.

Please have a look at what the CCC Members have made, there's bound to be gorgeous cards.

Going to schedule this for Sunday morning.  I'll say good night and see you soon,

X Stitch Oldie for Friday!

Hello to Everyone, and a BIG WELCOME to my latest Followers, Jaycee and Donna, it's lovely to have you following what I do, I hope you will continue to kike what you see and pop in ofter.

Thanks so much to everyone who left lovely comments on my Sympathy card post, I really do appreciate your time ans comments, your support is fabulous.

I've not managed all that much crafting this last week, couldn't quite get up the enthusiasm, but I will have to crack on as I have a few cards to make for my friend Karen, and I hope to have at least two ready for her tomorrow, when she is joining me here for breakfast and a catch up.

I'm joining in with Erika's (Sappycrafts) Oldie For Friday on this post.

Well as you can see, these are X stitch and were sewn many years ago, folded up and put away.  However, seeing the lovely Xstitch shown by Patricia, (Summerhouse Crafts), I've been inspired to look them out and finally frame them, but, if anyone knows how to get the fold creases out I would so appreciate you telling me.  I've taken a cool iron over them, but not too successfully, I don't want to flatten the stitches.

I'm off to look for frames later and my intention is to give the first one to my friend Linda as a New House gift and  the Snowman to my choir buddy Fiona as she adores, and who doesn't, the Snowman as a Christmas gift. I usually find something from the range for her, I'd forgotten all about this X stitch picture.

I'm off work now for the next five days, yippee!!!, and I don't care what the weather is like, I'm going to have a fab time, no plans except to get some cards made, some knitting, reading and I just might fit in some housework, but there again I might not.

Alistair and I are going into town later to treat ourselves to an Indian Meal and them a few bits of shopping to do.

Have a great weekend whatever you do and hope to see you soon,

Thinking of You!

Good Sunday Afternoon, I hope you are having better weather than we are up here in the Scottish Highlands, it's been heavy rain and so dull.

I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend what ever you are doing.  I've been knitting, I've socks on the pins for Kerr's mum, I'm rattling away with them.  It's been a while since I knitted socks and I'm finding that I'm enjoying it again.  I've also got a cushion cover to finish, I'll get on with that when the socks are finished.

Not all that much card making happening just now, but I have a few commissioned so I'll have to get my thinking cap on, but here is one I made earlier in the Summer when I needed a few of them, it's the sort we don't like to make;
The Rose is decoupaged, I'm afraid I don't know the make, but I buy the sheets in a local craft shop,
CC Vintage Embossing Folder, Rose
DI Spun Sugar
Papermaina Sentiment, and tiny Pink Bow
Pearls and a tiny Butterfly peel off from my Box

I like to keep these Sympathy cards really uncluttered and simple.

I've a day off tomorrow, but have a Doctor's appointment first thing, at least it gets me up and started early, and in the evening rehearsals start again for our Choral Society.  We have had a long break since May, so it will be good to get back and see my choir buddies.  I'm hoping to get a bit of crafting done as well.

Thank you very much for visiting and commenting on my work, it encorages me and makes this blogging thing all worth while. Till next time, cheerio.

Sparkly Baubles for CCAYR!

Hello My Blogging Friends and of course Visitors, and welcome to my wee space in Blogland.
I hope everyone is feeling good ad keeping healthy, but if not, I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you all for your super comments on my last creation, very much appreciated, all the more so as I was a bit stumped for what to do.

I'm really sorry not to have managed much commenting on your blogs over the last few day, but there wasn't all that much time as we had visitors.
 We all had a great time, but oh the weather was so awful, and scuppered our plans as roads were flooded. the main road in to Ullapool was flooded and we couldn't get to the Geology Field for Kerr, then we thought we would go to Gairloch, that road was flooded too.  Poor wee guy spent hours in the car for no benefit, and at 10 years that's quite hard to take.  The next day Alistair was taking him fossil hunting and the tide was in and it was lashing rain. However Kerr managed to find a tiny piece of mudflat with a small fossil, so he was delighted, soaked, but happy.  We are thinking there is a jinx somewhere as every time he comes to Inverness the weather is beyond dreadful.  Last October when he was here it was the snow that stopped the fossil hunt.

Now I have to set folk's mind at rest about my safety at work after mentioning that we had to call the police a couple of times last week.  I work in a Mental Health Drop In Centre, and very occasionally there is someone who becomes so disruptive and abusive, that we do have to call in the police, thankfully it doesn't happen all that often, and the staff can usually diffuse the situation, but this time this individual had been building up to cause trouble, which has now resulted in an exclusion from the centre.  I believe he has put in a complaint about me and another member of staff, but hey ho it's all part of the joys of the job.  It's also a great excuse for a large G&T when I get home and just another day in Gotham City.

Had a lovely meet up with Hazel, Patricia and Elaine on Saturday, the time went all too quickly, but we manged to catch up, and it was so good to see them.  We are once again going to the NEC in Birmingham in November, which won't be all that long the way the weeks are flying by.

Anyway, on to my card which is my inspirational card for; http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/august-challenge.html
and the theme is Sparkle and Shine.
I've used:  Bauble image, Paper and Sentiment from CC.
Snowflake acetate
MB Frosty Border and Corner Dies
 Tattered Lace Bow Die
Embossialicious Holly Embossing folder
Lots of Star Dust

I hope you like it, but please do pop into the Challenge Blog and see what my very talented Team mates have created.

I hope I can get around your blogs soon, but take care everyone and good night,

Pointsettia for the Christmas Card Club!

Hi to you All, Friday once again and another weekend , don't they come around quickly!  Mind you I'm so pleased it has as it's been a few very hard days at work, due to one particular individuals behaviour, so disruptive that the police had to be called.  We had to work hard as a team to make sure the other clients were safe. Anyhow I'm pleased to be away now for a few days, and with any luck our trouble maker will be excluded for a while.  Just another day at the office.

I'm scheduling this card for Sunday as I will be busy and not really around for the next few days as we are having visitors and tomorrow I'm away meeting Hazel, Patricia and Elaine.
This is my card for The Christmas Card Club;
In fact it's not a card at all, the theme this time is "Anything but a Card". I was a bit stumped, but finally came up with a tag or it could be a hanging decoration.
I've used Xcut Star Die embossed with a snowflake folder,
Sizzix Poinsettia Die, Tattered Lace Gold Paper
Ribbon and Gold Gems from my box
Star Dust for sparkle
I would just like to say thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card.

I hope you are all well, have a super weekend and I'll see you next week.

A Ballerina for Oldie for Friday!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all good, but if not I'm sending out kind thought and hugs that you'll feel better soon.

Thanks to all who visited and left comments on my last card, your very kind. Thank you too for your good wishes about Alistair putting in the Velux window.
What a job, it's a hugely heavy window, and luckily our young neighbour stopped by to see how it was done as he is needing to replace his and he ended up helping when they were trying to put the window back in.  Both Alistair and Bill said his help was just great, and would have had quite a bit of trouble if he had'nt been there.  Anyway, it's in, not leaking and looks lovely and clean when I open the blind.  When we got CRSmith in to give a quote, we asked if it was a big job, 1/2 hour he told us, well the lads were a bit longer than that, but did a good job.

I've got an Oldie for Friday;
This card was made from images, papers, sentiment and embellishments, Paintshop Poppets from Crafter's Companion CD
I've not used anything from this CD in ages, might have a look through it again because ther are some lovely images.
I've only tomorrow to go at work and then I'm off for a few days, and I've got to events to look forward to, on Saturday I'm going down to Perth to meet up with two of our Blogging Friends, Patricia from Summerhouse Crafts and her sister Hazel, Baskets of Joy, their friend Elaine is coming along too, so I'm really looking forward to that, it's been so long since we managed a meet up, last November actually.

On Sunday our friends Dale and Stewart and their Grandson Kerr are coming for a couple of days, mainly so that Kerr can go fossil hunting with Alistair, he is very keen on geology.  We are hoping for some decent weather.  So, loads to lookforward to.

Anyway, I'll finish now, expecting my DH back from a day in the hills, he's been away to Kintail, so he probably not have climbed just one mountain, he's more than likely climbed more and he'll be whacked.
So take care everyone and see you soon.   Scheduling this post.

Roses!

Good Evening Crafty Friends, I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, rested and recharged to head into another week.

Thank you very much for all the lovely comments on my last card, it's all very encouraging, and I do appreciated each and everyone of them.

We have had mixed weather over the last few days, but it is cooler thankfully, however I'm hoping for decent weather tomorrow as Alistair is going to replace the velux window in our bedroom.  I'm a bit apprehensive about it as it is a large window and hope he will manage it without hurting himself.  I suggested that we get a tradesman in to fix it, but when he heard the quotes, he said he would do it himself.  His friend Bill is going to give him a hand with it.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed it all goes according to Alistair's plan.

On to my card for today;
The image and papers are from a recent Papermainia collection called Botanical, I think it's a beautiful collection. Crafter's Companion Vintage Embossing folder. Sentiment is from Papermainia.
Promarkers
Creative Expressions Dazzler and Dovecraft Pearls
Ribbon and butterfly gems from my box
Glamour Dust in Crystal
Glossy Accents on Leaves

I hope you like my offering, I enjoyed colouring it in.

Off now to catch Corrie and have a cuppa.  Enjoy your evening.
