Post Cards!

Hello Everyone, and I hope you are well and enjoying the weekend.

We've had a glorious day here, although cold the sun shone the whole day and the temps were a bit. We took a drive to Rosemarkie, for a walk along the beach, and with a flask of coffee and a few sandwiches we sat and looked out at the sea. Mind you my fingers were frozen by the time I had finished eating, but it fairly lifted the spirits.

And spirits need to be lifted with all the horror of what's happening in Eastern Europe, It's heartbreaking to think of the needless loss of life. Solidarity with Ukraine.

I have a few coloured post cards from Rita Berman's my Walk through Europe, they are so easy to colour whilst watching TV in the evening. They are miniatures of the larger book.

These are all the destinations on the journey, and coloured with Crayola pencils and Posca pens

This one is outside a Paris Café and I've coloured with CastleArt Gel pens

Not sure where this little house is but it's awfully cute with the car sitting on the window sill. It's colours also with gel pens.

Now, my aim with these pretty little cards is to send one to my friend Fiona each week. Her news wasn't good and she needs more surgery, Chemotherapy and more than likely Radiotherapy. So we will have an imaginary trip through Europe, and this week if she is well, we will meet for a coffee, unfortunately not Paris, but our local Costa.......the imagination is a wonderful thing.

So, that's all for now folks, I'm off to have a look at your blogs, before Peaky Blinders, so Keep well and safe and hope to see you soon,

My Journey Through Europe!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well, and no one is suffering with these awful storms. Some if the news reports of the dreadful flooding is heartbreaking for businesses and homes, so I hope you are all safe. We have escaped it all in comparison to down south.

Thank you, all for all the lovely comments on my Penguin card, I do appreciate your visits.

It's coloured pictures today from this lovely Rita Berman book,

Roughly translated, My Journey Through Europe.

This is the first page reflecting the different countries and their landmarks. Coloured with Caran D'Ache Luminance pencils.

This lovely heart wreath is one of the drawings representing Portugal and flower festivals. I coloured this  with Derwent Ink Intense pencils. Now I've had these pencils for quite an number of years and never really used them, I only had a few, but I've been watching some colourists using them and thought I would have a go, and think they are just lovely, although I do need a bit of practice with them. Anyhoo, I'm pretty pleased with how this picture has turned out, and have ordered more pencils which will make a full set. Hope you like the pictures.

We are having squally rain today, and it's so dark, I can hardly see the keys as I'm typing this, I hate putting lights on in the middle of the day, but I think I'm beaten.

I'm off now to have a journey through your lovely blogs, and then we are going out for a High Tea, we had booked to go last week but, the snow prevented us, so hopefully we won't have any today, although it is forecast for the Highlands, fingers crossed, but at least this time I've
got something to eat in, last week we had to make do with egg and chips, and I have to say they never tasted better, lol.

So cheerio for now and keep safe,

Penguins for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are all safe and well and not suffered any damage caused by these awful storms. I know some areas in England had a terrible time, and of course Wales was hit pretty badly.

North East was bad in Scotland, but we were let off quite lightly, had snow, but not the high winds.

Anyhoo, another fortnight has past and it's time again for the Christmas Card Club Challenge and Valery Anne has chosen the theme of Penguins, who doesn't love a penguin!

I only did one card this time;

I used a stamp set from Card-io called In a Flap,  first time inked up and they are so cute. I made my little snowy slops and glittered them up, and dotted the little guys around them. The sentiment is a Card-io stamp too. I've added some of the penguin images to my envelop too.

Thank you Valery for your choice, I loved it.

Just before I sign off, thank you for the lovely comments on my Elf couple, I really do appreciate all your comments.

A quick post tonight, so I'll say cheerio for now, keep yourselves safe and see you soon,

Elf Romance!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are keeping safe from Storm Eunice, such frightening things. Up here we seem to have been passed by, but the weekend is to be quite bad with high winds and snow.

There's been snow showers off and on most of the day, but we managed a walk in okay conditions, just really cold, home 10 minutes and the snow started again.

I have a finished picture today, it's by an artist called Mariola Budek and I bought it from her Etsy store;

The minute I saw this I just had to have it, I'm a Lord of the Rings fan, and I've always felt there was an Elf inside me awaiting to blossom from this Hobbit body lol. Anyway, it's a large A4 size PDF and I printed on to Bristol Velum paper, a new paper to me so I wasn't too sure which pencils would lay down well on it.
I started with Luminance, wasn't all that happy with the effect, so changed to Polychromos, and much happier, then for the man's hair I used Prismacolor, and wished I'd just used those for the whole picture. It, too me around 16 hours to complete, a real labour of love, but I'm pleased with how my Elf couple has turned out. I still find images like these quite challenging, especially colouring the hair and skin, hope you like it.

Thank you so much for the kind comments on my last post.

That's me for now, keep safe and cosy, and hope to see you soon,

You'er My One and Gnomely!

 Hello Everyone, and Happy Valentine's Day.

I spent a part of mine at the hospital having my procedure, which I gather one or two of you lovely folks have gone through the same thing. Not pleasant, but I had lovely nursing staff and a hoot of  a doctor, well actually he is a Professor. I asked him why he would want to specialise in this area of medicine, he answered with you get Saturday and Sunday off, nuff said I thought.

Anyhoo, just to wait for a biopsy result now, but I'm sure all will be well. But am I tired, so it will be an early bed tonight.

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate each and every one of them.

Alistair's Valentine's card;

A kit from Pink Gem Designs, A bit different for Alistair this year, I don't usually do cute ones for him, but he liked it. Have to say, they are marvellous kits when your inspiration has gone walk about, all I added was a wee bit of sparkle.

I'll be catching up with your creations soon, I've been awfully tired, my commenting has is a bit behind. An early night for me, so I'll say cheerio and see you soon, and take care,

Drink Prosecco!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, and your week is off to a good start. Time is once again going so quickly, blink and the week is gone.

Our weather is still not great, and I think it's to get colder as the week goes on, hope you are all staying cosy, well if you can in the light of the hike in energy prices that are on the way.

Thank you so much for the comments on my CCC post, they are much appreciated.

It was Moreen's birthday yesterday, Daughter in Law, so obviously I made her a card;

This is a card kit from Pink Gem Designs, I thought it just suited Moreen, not that I've ever seen her siting in a cocktail glass, but she does adore prosecco. I decoupaged the butterflies and added Glossy Accents to the cherries, gems and sparkle dotted around. Thankfully she liked it.

Quick post tonight, off to get into the pj's and get comfy, so cheerio for now, keep safe and see you soon,

Festive Gifts/Giftbags for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well, we are still having awful weather, but apart from that  things are good.

Lorraine chose our theme for the Christmas Card Club this time around and it was Gifts/Giftbags with the option of Anything Goes if you couldn't manage the theme. Here's what I've managed,

I've gone with LOTV images for my cards, digital, simply printed ones, the paper is from LOTV too and a JND sentiment, a few gems and some Stickles. This is a tiny card from a cut off cards blank. Card no. 2;

Rough Ride is the title of this image, another simply print image, paper too, glitter and a few gems. Tattered Lace die and a LOTV sentiment. I do like these images of Santa's different modes of travel.

Thank you Lorraine for this challenge, I did enjoy it,

Remember to look out for the cards the other CCC ladies create, they always have fabulous cards.

Thank you for the lovely comments and good wishes on my card for my friend. I had a message today to let me know that she had received our flowers and says she's fine with a bit of dis comfort which you'd expect, so she's resting, Fiona is one of these people who never complains.

Anyway, scheduling this post for tomorrow , enjoy the rest of your evening, take care,

Peace and Quiet!

 Hello Everyone from a very cold and snowy Inverness, and boy is it cold. We went for a walk in between the snow showers this afternoon, and it felt bitter, and we didn't make it back before the white stuff started again, so by the time we made it home we were like snowmen.

Anyway, how are you all doing, I hope well and keeping warm and cosy.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my last coloured page.

I have a card today;

This is a card for my friend Fiona who is recovering from surgery, she has had one helluva year with illnesses...well last  year really, with a diagnoses of breast cancer just before Christmas, so I'm hoping that this wee card will bring her a smile.

A LOTV coloured printed image, matted on to purple card, sentiment is from a Creative Stamping magazine, a couple of gems and a little bit of Star Dust Stickles. I think this is such a sweet image and one that could be used for many occasions.

That's me for now,  take care of yourselves and see you soon,
