Christmas Carols for the CCC!

 Hello to You All, I hope your weekend is going well and that you have some good plans, even although you perhaps can't go all that far yet, or do too many things. Hoping your weather is like ours here in Inverness, beautifully sunny and warm.

Another two weeks have gone by and it's time for the Christmas Card Club to show this challenge's themed card, and this time around it's our very own Rita who has chosen Christmas Carols....or of course anything goes.

I've only managed one card this time, and used a LOTV image that I've had for yonks and coloured with Polychromo pencils, added Glamour Dust glitter for the sparkle. For some reason which I'm not entirely sure about I decided to cut the card shape and the image out with a Honeybee die shape. The musical notes, snowflakes and sentiment are all from Dovecraft. Finishing off with a few clear gems.  I hope this'll do Rita, thank you for the challenge I did enjoy it, using both old stash and new.

I'm going to schedule this card for tomorrow for when the CCC post goes live.

Take care everyone and keep safe

 I would like to enter my card into;

Every Day!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend whatever your plans have been. We haven't really done much, a bit of housework today, but yesterday, we had a lovely walk by the sea and blew away some cobwebs.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last  post, I appreciate  them all.

I have another finished page from Johanna Basford's planner;

I used Derwent Inkintense pencils, a pencil I don't often use, so I need quite a bit of practice I think. I gave the blooms a bit of sparkle with various colours of Stickles. The background is coloured with Faber Castel soft pastel and I decided something was needed within the wreath, so I found this lovely sentiment from Altenew. I'm quite pleased with the finished result.

Just a short post tonight so I will love you and leave you and see you soon, stay safe,

A Windmill in Cocot!

 Hello Everyone, I do hope all is well with you and that your new week has got off to a good start.

It's been a mixed bag of weather up here but the temperature has gone way up, but high winds and a bit of rain.

Our weekend was highlighted with a lovely Valentine M&S meal, chocolates and flowers, and they say romance is dead lol.

Thank you for the lovely comments about the cards on my last post, all of them appreciated.

I have a finished page for you today from one of my newer books, the artist is a Japanese lady called Eriy and all her drawings are made with a toothpick and ink., here's the book;

It's a lovely book, and a story of an imaginary  country called Cocot. Very whimsical. Anyhoo here is my coloured page;

 Cocot has lots of windmills and here is one of them. I coloured it up with Prismacolour pencils, some gel pen and a watercoloured sky......wish I hadn't as I don't really like it, not used to doing such a large area in watercolour...you live and learn. I added some little flowers and dandelions, from Little Clair stamps and the birds are by Inkylicious. And the little duck who is a resident of Cocot is called Joset, and she is one of the little characters that pop up throughout the book. Hope you like it, it was fun to do.

That's all for now, hoping to get around to visiting your blogs later tonight. Keep safe everyone,

Playing in the Snow for the CCC

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.

Just before I started to write this post, I found out that one of our Christmas Card Club ladies has passed away this morning. Shaz has battled with cancer for a number of years and it's finally beaten her. Her lovely husband Doug has been beside her the whole way and has kept us updated with sometimes good progress and at other times not so good. Shaz had an amazing spirt and was so brave  and you never heard her complain. She was also a wonderful and very creative crafter, and will be missed so very much from our little group, it's heartbreaking.

This post is a CCC and it's Lorraine who has chosen the theme and it's Playing in the Snow;

This image is from Geko Galz, and we can see the little gnomes sledging in the background.

Another Geko Galz image and I'm not sure what game this is but it looks like the gnomes are having fun.

Last card and this one uses a stamp from my from the first Creative Stamping magazine I ever bought back in the day, and we can see the children are having fun sledging. I've used Copic pens to colour, and made a little scene by adding a hill for them to  sledge down, with some trees and they built a snowman too, trees , birds and snowman from Card-io. On all cards I've added load of sparkle and gems.

Keep safe everyone, and see you soon,

Puffin Love!

 Hello Everyone, is your weather as cold as ours? -7 degrees this morning when I let Teallach out...he wasn't out for long lol.  We have had some wee flurries of snow too, but at our level not too much, the mountains are are plastered though and look fabulous.

It's such a pity that for once the ski fields here in Scotland  have wonderful snow, but due to lockdown, obviously closed, it's an industry that have been struggling for quite a while.

So I got my jab yesterday, in and out in minutes and all's well, my next dose is in April. The nurse who delivered the jab said that our surgery is fairly flying through  the vaccinations, so that's good.

My card today  is my Valentine card for Alistair;

I  saw this wonderful digital image  on Rachel Vass Etsy Shop and fell in love with it. Puffins are one of my favourite little birds, and they bring back memories of visiting an  Island where there were loads of the wee birds, I was able to sit down beside some of them, they are very curious little creatures, not at all afraid of us big humans. Anyway, I've coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils and added some sparkle.  added a drawing of a sun and added some cloud dies. The sentiment is part of the stamp set.

I've used Puffin colours for the background card and some First Edition papers. Found some old heart dies and job done.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments you leave, I do appreciate them and a warm welcome to my new follower, I hope you will pop in often. You don't seem to have a blog though so I can't return the visit.

That's me for now, keep yourselves safe, and see you soon,

Ivy!

 Hi there Everyone, it's the weekend once again,where did the last one gooooo!! I still find it difficult to believe that time doesn't drag with the lockdown, must be finding plenty to do.

Anyways, I hope your weekend is going well so far and that you are all doing well.

I had a phone call from my surgery on Thursday to invite me for my covid vaccination on Monday, I was so surprised that it would be so soon for me. As you know I have diabetes so I'm not in the extremely vulnerable, but the vulnerable group and should have been getting the jab in the 4th trench. I'm delighted though, and I've been told that the 2nd dose will be in mid April, I'm not complaining. However, neither Alistair nor I will be doing anything different, we'll still be behaving ourselves.

So, I have a finished page from my colouring planner here;

 This is Ivy from Johanna Basford's Ivy and the Inky Butterfly. The planner's pages are all from different books by Johanna. I'm not getting very far with the colouring, I'm still doing January's pages.

Anyhoo, I've used Prismacolour pencils, gel pens and some Star Dust  Stickles to add some sparkle. It did take a while to colour up, it's quite detailed as you can see. Note to self ....

colour something simple next lol.

That's me for now, take care of yourselves and stay safe,

Owl Birthday !

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, and coping with everything that's going on just now. Thankfully the vaccine is rolling out well so that gives hope.

Alistair gets his tomorrow, so it's up early and away to the vaccination center for 9am. However, Scotland's lockdown has been extended till the end of February, but it is making a difference.

I have a card today that was made for a friend's Husband last year;

Sorry about the photo, not my best. I've used the lovely owl stencil from Imagination Crafts and glitter paste onto black card, mounted on to brown glitter card. A simple enough wee card.

Well, it's just a quick pop in and out today, whilst there is still a bit of light left I'm hoping to get a bit of colouring done, so till next time, keep yourselves safe and see you soon,
