Let the Bells Ring Out for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, hopefully your weekend is going well, and you are coping with the lockdown and looking forward to being invited for your vaccination.

It's time for the CCC girls to show their cards, where do these two weeks go?? Anyways, it's Valery's choice this time around and she chose Bells.

Jingle Gnomes from Stamping Bella and coloured with Derwent Coloursoft pencils, with Stickles for sparkle and Glossy Accents on the berries.

Carnation Crafts oval dies, purple and gold card, with SU paper in the background. Computer generated sentiment and gems to finish off.

Thank you Valery for the challenge, I loved it, I do love my gnomes.

Make sure you look at the cards the other girls make, that are always brilliant.

That's me for now, take care of yourselves stay safe,

I'd like to enter this card into;

Beneath the Cherry Tree!

 Hello to Everyone, I hope that you are all managing to cope with the strangeness of life at the moment.

We seem to be galloping through January, it seems like it to me and although we are in a sort of lockdown, thankfully, time isn't dragging, in fact, there seems to be not enough time in the day to get everything I won't to do done, how about you?

Damian loved his birthday card, I'm pleased to say, and had an enjoyable birthday, although quite different from the usual. Thank you for all your lovely comments on his card.

Now it's time for Moreen's card as her birthday is quite soon;

I've chosen dies from Carnation Crafts Beneath the Cherry Tree set. I cut our the gorgeous frame die and mounted it on to lilac card. The flowers and birds are Carnation Crafts artwork called Vignettes and they are die cut too. The sentiment is from the same company. I added Stickles for some sparkle, tiny clear gems and pearls.

 A side on view to show the decoupage of the flowers, except it doesn't really, lol.

This is a gorgeous die set, it's Oriental in theme and comes with, little houses set on a hill and those lovely Japanese bridges, flowers and water lilies.

So, that's me for today, it's been a dark, rainy day here, not a day to inspire, but still another day, so must be grateful for that. It's just so sad all the deaths from the virus, and in a country that's an island, shameful really, anyhoo, you all take care and keep yourselves safe and I'll see you soon,

Whale Hello for Your Birthday!

 Hello Everyone, how are you all doing? still coping with life as it is at the moment.

Doesn't the world feel a safer place since yesterday? I certainly think so and I sincerely hope the President Biden manages to do all that needs doing in his country, and seems to have made a good start by reversing some of the policies made by his predecessor. Now if he could just use his influence to help our monstrous PM and his cronies to learn the meaning of truth, integrity, empathy, look after their citizens and forget their greed.......I can only hope.

So, I've got a card today made for my Son's birthday on Sunday, I can hardly believe that he will be 50, where did all that time go. He never looks at my blog so it's safe to show you his card;

 I thought this fabulous whale image from Pink Ink designs would be a good one for him and I've coloured it in with Black Widow pencils, and some white gel pen, adding a little Star Dust Stickles for a bit of sparkle.

I've attempted to make a watery background with Caran d'Ache Neocolours 11 and a background paper from a fabulous 12x12 paper pad called Fresh Feelings I bought the other year from The Works costing only £3. It has wonderful designs and colours and really quite thick papers. Unfortunately, this isn't the best of photos as the colours are more vibrant in real time.

We were all going to be celebrating his birthday with a lovely meal out, but of course that's knocked on the head for now, but I'm sure we will manage at sometime in the future.

I had my diabetic review today, first one since a year ago, I expect my HB A1C will be higher than normal as it's been difficult to control, over the year, but who knows.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last cards, always appreciated.

That's me for now, off to do a bit of ironing and then some colouring, you all take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Nativity for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend has got off to a good start and that you are all keeping well.

It's time for the second challenge for the Christmas Card Club, and this time it's Grandmargaret who has chosen the theme of Nativity. This challenge gave me the opportunity to use up some really old papers from a Making Cards Christmas Magazine, here they are;

Two simple cards and really just a matter of cutting out the images and pasting them on to card and adding some gems and glitter.

Thank you Margaret for the challenge, it's always good to use up some old stash.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last card, I always appreciate each one.

Well, that's me for now, keep safe everyone and enjoy your weekend,

A Winter Scene!

 Hello to Everyone, I hope you are all fit as fleas...well at least doing okay. Raining and dull today here, and beginning to wash the snow away slowly. Hope the weather is better where you are.

Are you all managing with your lockdowns? We are doing fine, thankfully, apart from staying home unless for necessary appointments, food shopping and exercise, we are managing to keep to the rules and are not all that much affected. I feel very fortunate for that.

It's going to be a while before I will be invited to go for the vaccine, I think Alistair will be in the trench before me, so we'll just keep going safely.

So, a Christmas card today, which I'm going to enter into; https://www.fezziwigsfestivefrolics.com/2021/01/anything-festive-goes-week-2.html

This image is a stamp from Creative Stamping Magazine, and I've inked it in blue ink. The sentiment is also from the magazine, Matted on to black card then glitter card. I few gems and some glitter. I rather like how it turned out as it's quite an unusual image.

That's for it today, hoping to get out for a walk but only if the rain calms down a bit.

Take care of yourselves and keep safe,

Floral Page!

 Hello Everyone, I hope today finds you well and having a good day whatever you're doing. It's snowing here and quite wet snow, so perhaps it won't lie. It's so dark too, not a every inspiring day or doing much.

Anyhoo, I finally managed to finish one of the pages from my Johanna Basford 2021 Planner, it took me ages and I have to be honest and say I was getting bored with it, but determined to keep going. I'm not a fan of mandala type images, but here it is;

I've used Crayola pencils and I'm really pleased with the effect. Of course they take time to blend and can't lay down as many layers as the more expensive pencils like Prismacolours, but still they did a decent job. I kept the colour pallet to shades of blue, pink and green, with the little bits of gold and silver. Gel pens and  Stickles, although the sparkle doesn't show here.

My plan for this book is to colour a page a week, and true to form it's not going to plan lol.

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, as always I very much appreciate that you take the time to visit and leave the comments.

A quick post today, so till next time,  keep yourselves safe,

Poinsettia Birthday!

 Hello Everyone, how are you all coping with these latest restrictions?   I'm sure they will be quite difficult for some folks, but I guess it had to come.

The whole of mainland Scotland was in tier 4 anyway, so it's not not all that different for us. However it could last for quite a while. All the Governments will have to really ramp up the roll out of the vaccines to get ahead of the virus, and goodness knows how many people there is able to deliver the injection, more than we've got is needed if all those in the most at risk group is to be vaccinated by April, anyway we'll see how it goes.

I have a birthday card today that I'm entering into,

http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/01/the-flower-challenge-52-embossing-heat.html

I used an old stamp from Papermania and heat embossed with WOW silver powder, and coloured with pencils. a few sequins and a sentiment from Creative Stamping magazine, all matted on to pink and green card.

Well it's been a bitter cold day here, though a sunny one, and I managed a lovely walk, but oh my it was good to get back to a cosy house.

That's me for now, and thank you for your lovely comments on my last post, always appreciated.

Take care everyone and keep safe,

Using Kraft Card on Your Design for CCC!

 Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone, I do hope everyone had a great Festive Season, however you celebrated it. It was a strange one without a doubt, and perhaps you were like me where I felt I had to go that bit extra to make it special. Alistair kept saying it didn't feel like Christmas, but couldn't say why when asked.

We met up with Damian and Moreen and the dogs Milo and Rowan at our university campus for a walk, we fed the swans, ducks and of course the seagulls, just because they were there. I took a bottle of Prosecco and some disposable flute glasses and Moreen and I tucked in as we walked. Damian had is coffee and Alistair Ginger Beer. It was just so different, don't know what the other walkers though of us as I carried the bottle in one hand and a glass in the other lol.  The dogs had a grand time running around too. Anyhoo, it's all over and done with now and it's to be hoped that next Christmas will be back to being with loved ones and hugging.

So, here we are with the first challenge of the Christmas Card Club and it's my choice of using Kraft card somewhere on your design, or Anything Goes if you can't manage that. Here are what I've come up with;

 In this one I've heat embossed this Inkylicious stamp with Wow white powder on to kraft card, and stamped some branches around the edges. Green and gold card as mats and mounted on to a kraft base card which has been further stamped too. Finishing up with a few sequins.

This card used a beautiful large poinsettia stamp from Chocolate Baroque and gold Wow EP. matted onto gold card and kraft card for the base. Poinsettia die from Sue Wilson, Sentiments for both cards by Tonic, ribbon and gold gems.

Hope you like them. I've made a bit of a New Year resolution....no not to loose weight, though heaven knows I need to, but to use older Christmas stash for this year's cards. I don't think I've used any CB or Card-io last year, Inkylicious too is another make with I've neglected, so this year I plan to change that.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate every comment you leave. I have had a wee break from card making and blogging/ commenting , but I'm back now. One forgets how much time it all takes, so it's good I feel to have a break at times, quite freeing really.

I'm scheduling this post for when the CCC goes live.

That's me for now, keep safe and see you soon,
