LOTV Sympathy Card!

Hello Everyone, I hope all goes well for you and looking forward to another weekend. It's come around so quickly. We have nothing much planned, but will go out and have a lunch somewhere tomorrow.

I'm still enjoying my Aqua classes, and I do believe my knees are getting easier, well the pain is still there, but my movements are easier. I would suppose that my muscles are strengthening. I try and go to three session a week, and it seems to be plenty. I still don't seem to be able to walk all that far before my legs tighten up, especially at the back of the knee, it's as if an elastic band is being pulled tightly. Hopefully, that will ease too.....sometime.
So, I can really recommend this form of exercise, if you'd like to do something to keep a bit fitter.

Anyhoo, I've got another sympathy card, this one is for a friends Mum who had reach the fantastic age of 93. I never met the lady, but Alistair knew her and said she was a beautiful person.

I came across this lovely LOTV stamp the other day, whilst looking for something else, in fact I've quite a few of these lovely floral stamps, and I thought it would be perfect for this sort of card.
On watercolour paper I inked up the stamp with watercolour markers then stamped the image. With almost a dry brush, just a very little water, I pulled out the colour to soften the lines. I just kept it all in shades of blue. The little butterflies are Card-io stamps, a few little gem.
Sentiment is from Woodware.  I like to keep this sort of card fairy simple, I think I've managed that.

Well it started out a lovely morning, and now seems to be heading into rain, which is a pity as I've managed to get Alistair to promise to clean the windows. Teallach makes such a desperate mess of them with his paws, I wish he would learn to take a chamois out with him lol.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my last card, you are all so kind.
That's  me for now, have a lovely day whatever you're doing and see you soon,

Frosty Wishes!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well enjoying the week.
We've had a bit of snow and really cold, especially last night, but we were nice and toasty.

Thank you all for your visits and the lovely comments that you leave, I do appreciate your time in doing so.

I have a little card today for the January Rudolph Day Challenge;https://scrapsoflifebyscrappymo.blogspot.com/2020/01/january-rudolph-days-challenge.html

Just look at these two wee pals having a warm soak. This stamp is by Whimsy and I've coloured with Copic Markers and added a bit of a freehand frame and some tiny blue star gems, with WoS for sparkle. I think the are so cute.

Just a short post tonight, so till next time take care of yourselves,

Special Card for a Special Person!

Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well so far and that you are all tickity boo.
It's a lovely day here, infact the weather has been good all week, a little warmer and sunny, good enough to get the washing out some days.

Thank you to everyone who visits and leaves such lovely encouraging comments on my cards, I do so appreciate it.

I've not been in the craft room much lately, only to make the cards that I need, and this is one of them for Moreen's birthday.

This is a lovely stamp set from Honey Bee, lots of stamps in the set and all Kitties. Once stamped on to water colour paper I coloured with Watercolour Zig pens, adding WoS to add sparkle. Added some tiny gems and mounted on to lilac card.
Gina K Rose Swirl EF with DI for the background and a lovely heart pearl in the corner. Chocolate Baroque for the sentiment.
I found this card blank hiding away, it is from a very old collection of Hunky Dory cards, but thought it would look good.  Moreen loves cats so I know it's safe.

Going over to see them all later today. It was Damian's birthday yesterday, but because he was down in London for work I didn't get to see him on his birthday....first time in the 49 years he's been around.  He was too late home to go over and no doubt very tired, as he was away on the first plane out( I heard it go over) and home on the last plane back to Inverness, a very long day for him.

Well, it's Burn's Day here in Scotland so we are having the traditional Burn's Supper meal tonight, Haggis, neeps and tatties, and I just might make some whisky sauce.

Anyway, that's me for now, enjoy your day, keep well and hope to see you soon,

The Holly and the Ivy for the CCC!

Hello Everyone, and I do hope you are well but sending kind and healing thoughts to you if your not.

Well a fortnight has past and it's time for another Christmas Card Challenge and this time it's Elizabeth who has chosen out theme and it's The Holly and the Ivy.So here's what I've come up with;

I've used a stamp from a lovely but oldish Justinklined stamp, and coloured with Prisma coloured pencils and WOS, with glossy accents on the berries.
The verse is a Woodware stamp and the background is from a Sheena Douglass set stamped in Versacolour. a few gems and  that was that one done.
As you can see I've used the same Woodware stamp, but this time I've inked up the whole stamp, backed it with some red card and added a holly stamp embossed in Wow green EP and coloured the berries with sparkly gel pen. The holly stamp is from the Sheena Douglass set. This beautiful paper is from SU. Again I've added some gems.
I enjoyed the challenge Elizabeth, so thank you and I got to use some stamps that have been a bit neglected.

Short and sweet today, but thank you for the lovely comments on my last card.
Take care of yourselves and hope to see you soon,

A Birthday Wish!

Hello Everyone and welcome to my Blog. I hope today finds you well and enjoying your day however it's going.

Thank you for your comments regarding Rowan, I'm happy to say she is on the mend, but having to take little on the lead walks until her wound heals up and a restrictive diet. Not a happy doggy with that as she is used to off the lead to run wild with Milo. Nothing found when they operated, so it seems it was a very bad gastric something.

I've been to three Aqua aerobic classes so far, and enjoying them, but my legs are sore....but I think that's more to do with using muscles that have not been used in a while rather than knee pain, which is still there, I'm ever hopeful though.  All the ladies, and one man are a jolly sociable crowd, so all good.

My card today is for a friend's husband's 70th birthday. Unfortunately, I had absolutely nothing in my stash to make something with any of his hobbies, so I went with trees.  All the men in my life are mountaineers, canoeists, cyclists, and Peter doesn't do anything like that, but I reckon everyone likes trees.

Crafty Individuals stamp and background paper. Inkylicious sentiment and a few black gems. I started of by heat embossing the image and than adding DI to give some colour. matted it on to a panel of black card, the base card is Kraft.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments left on my previous post, I do like to read what you think of my crafty efforts, as sometimes I feel my mojo has deserted me and they are not all that good. I know we are our own worst critics.

Well, that's me for now, so cheerio and hope to be back soon,

With Sympathy!

Hello Everyone, I hope it's been a good week for you....I can hardly believe that it's Friday, it's whizzed by.

Our little Rowan, I say our but really Rowan is one of Damian and Moreen's dogs, she is a gorgeous whirlwind of a Cocker Spaniel, has been unwell and has been with the vet since yesterday morning. I had taken Moreen and Rowan to the vet's Wednesday as she had been awfully sick during the night, but the vet thought it was just a wee tummy bug, gave her an injection and that was that. However, she got worse and Damian took her to a vet in Forres on his way to work, she ended up having an op as her tummy was swollen and although nothing found, her stomach was quite scarred. Poor wee mite couldn't eat so was on a drip, if she manages food today she will get home.  Poor Milo is completely lost without her.  So we're hoping she will be back home today, I think Damian is dreading the bill though, even although all the pets are insured. It's awful when your pets are unwell as they can't tell you what's wrong.
There is always something that requires a wad of money, last week he had to get new shock absorbers in the car.

So, My card today is one of those we don't like to make. This one has been in my folder since last year, in fact there are quite a few, it was just one of those years.
I used stamps from the First Frost set by SU, and the EF is SU too. Sentiment on some velum and little pearls. I try my best to keep it simple for these sorts of cards.

I went to an Aqua aerobic class today, and it was fun. This form of exercise was advised by both doctor and physio to help with my knee pain, so I plucked up courage earlier in the week and joined a club. Boy are they expensive, but needs must. Anyway, off I tootled hoping that there would be some well upholstered women there so I wouldn't feel so bad....thankfully there was, in fact one lady was in full makeup, bright red lips and wonderfully made up eyes, I hope it was all waterproofed.
I certainly enjoyed the experience, especially the Jacuzzi afterwards, I'll certainly be going back.. well I'll have to as I've had to take out a years membership.  If it helps my knees it will be worth it, but if it doesn't, well I'm sure the exercise will still be beneficial.

Thank you all for your visits and your lovely comments on my last card, Cheerio for now and see you soon,

Angels or Fairies for CCC!

Hello Everyone, and Happy New Year to You!! I do hope that you all had a wonderful Festive Season, and sending hugs and kind thoughts to anyone who was a bit sad and perhaps struggling a bit.

We had a lovely Christmas Day with Damian and Moreen and the animals. Milo and Rowan just knew there was something special going on and were hyper. We were joined this year by Moreen's brother, who had lost his wife very suddenly in the summer, it was just lovely. Alistair and Frankie found they shared a love of jazz and he played the guitar and insisted that Alistair went home for his fiddle, fine as we live very near Damian. So we ended up having a musical evening....that's a first.
Damian was very impressed by Alistair's playing, and loved the piece he played to round of the evening's music, The Ashokan Farewell, which some of you might know, its a beautiful piece of music.
As for New Year, we struggled to stay up for the Bells, getting too old to bother now, but we managed and brought the year in with a Bailies.

Well, it's all over....thankgoodness, it's good to get back to normal, whatever that is lol.
I took a complete break from crafting, blogging and commenting, so that's why I've not been around. I've been knitting, reading and just chillin out. I think I was all carded out by the time I had made the last Christmas card, so much so that I almost missed the fact that The Christmas Card Club starts again today and I had nothing ready. But, I managed to get something together and found an Angel image from LOTV as that is the theme chosen by Grandmargaret.
The photograph isn't all that great, but by the time I had put it all together the light was fading. I was interrupted by phone calls, normally the phone never rings.  Anyway, coloured with Copic Markers with lots of WOS for the glitter. Distressed inked around the edges and tiny gems. I found some very old Papermania paper for the background and some blue card to mount the image on to. Lawn Fawn for the works. I hope it well do.

As I said I've not been commenting, but I have looked at all your lovely cards from my reading list. Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card.  I'll need to see if I can whip up some enthusiasm as a friend has asked me to make her hubby a card for his 70th birthday.

Cheerio for now, take care,
