Christmoose for the Rudolph Challenge!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and that you're having a good day. I've had a fairly quiet day, the kind I like mind you, but still found time to make this little card for Scrappymo's Rudolph Challenge,https://scrapsoflifebyscrappymo.blogspot.com/2019/08/august-rudolph-days-challenge.html
I try to enter each month and I think I've just got there just in time. Because of the internet being down I've missed a couple of other challenges, but not the end of the world of course.

Here's my card,
All  of the stamps are from the latest Creative Stamping magazine, and they are stamps by Clearly Besotted, and well worth getting....in my opinion. Coloured with Copic Markers, get pens and WOS, I added a few sequins to finish.
All of the stamps are little cute ones and some lovely fonts on the sentiments.

Just a quick post today you'll be glad to read Lol.
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on Oakwart, I do appreciate the time you take to visit and comment.
Cheerio for now and see you soon,

Oakwart!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you, and you've been enjoying the lovely weather that we've been having.
Sorry to have been missing this last week but I've been without the internet, and learning just how dependant one is on it nowadays. It went down last Tuesday and only got it up and running yesterday.  Now as if it wasn't inconvenient enough, but the load of nonsense I was given by the various people at the Post Office broadband office was just amazing. I'll not bore you with  it all but I'm furious at the very poor service. Sitting in waiting for engineers to come, then to find out that, that was cancelled as he wasn't needed was the last straw. i didn't miss the chap I was speaking to and hit the wall,I was shouting so much my neighbour who was outside sitting in the garden, popped his head in the window to see if I was okay....I'd forgotten that the window was open. If I hadn't phoned yesterday, I would have been siting in waiting for the engineer again today. No one has been able to give me a satisfactory answer as to why I've been without the service for a week. I did demand some compensation. so £20 was offered of my next bill, however that doesn't make up for all the time I spent on the phone either talking to someone or hanging on the other end of the phone waiting to speak to someone......"your call is important to us" kind of thing, aye right! Not to mention, trying to find a screwdriver to take the facing off the junction box, changing micro filters, moving the router  and all sorts of other things that were going to magically fix the problem. Well, thankfully it's back on. Alistair, as usual was attempting to be helpful, by stating that when I'm gone, he's going to rip the whole caboodle out, he couldn't be bothered with it, he does make me laugh!!.

Right then, thank you for the lovely comments left on my last post, and sorry I've not been able to comment  back,  I do appreciated all your comments.

My card today is Oakwart, a Hobgoblin from Pink Ink,
I'm loving these fantasy images from this company, and they are big stamps. I've coloured Oakwart with coloured pencils on mixed media paper, and added sparkle and glossy accents with a few gems to finish. I've not got a clue who I can send this to, so it will remain in my box till I can think of someone.

It's becoming very dull and I think it's going to rain, I believe that thunder is forecast, anyway I'll away now sort out what's for dinner, take care and see you soon,

Patterned Papers for the CCC!

Hello again, I hope your weekend is going well and that you are doing something you enjoy....even if that's nothing special.  It's been housework for me, but I feel like I've accomplished quite a bit, even getting the washing out, dried and ironed, so the rest of the weekend is all mine. Not that there is anything planned.

Thank you for you lovely comments on my last post and for the suggestion of getting myself  a box to my medication in, I had thought of that myself so that's what I did and feel I can keep on top of it all now....we'll see.

Well it's time again for the CCC to show off there creations and this time it is Grandmargaret who is the hostess and she has chosen, use two or more pattern papers. This was a bit of a challenge for me as I really no longer use papers so very much, however, here's what I came up with.
Both of the papers are from the Joyous Noel Designer Paper pack from SU, sorry about the photo, the colours are much more vivid in reality, a bluey green and copper, on the first one and a grey sort of beige on the bottom paper. I've added a coppery ribbon and a lovely deer die from Dovecraft. The sentiment is from the First Frost stamp set from SU. A few pearls to finish,
The inside of the card had a Card-io stag and a freebie sentiment from Creative Stamping magazine

More SU paper, this time from First Frost Paper Pad, I have to say it's a set I love, it's a sort of watercolour look and the colours are gorgeous. I've embossed silver card, and added a lovely satin ribbon. The sentiment is the same as the first card and a few pearls.
The inside of the card, with more paper from the same pad and one of the stamps from the set, sentiment is also from SU.

I loved that I got to use these lovely papers, so thank you for the challenge Margaret.

Do look out for the cards created by the other CCC team members, they always come up with fabulous cards.

That's me for now, take care and hope to see you soon,

Anniversary!

Hello Everyone, how are you all doing today? I hope things are going well for you.

Thank you all so much for your lovely kind comments regarding my BIL on my last post, he seems to be doing okay, other than having to learn to change the stomma bag, and he will be in hospital until he can manage that. The chemo has left him without feeling in his finger tips and that seems to be causing that, but I'm sure he'll get there..
Thanks too for your lovely comments on my card too, I love to hear what you think of them.

Well my good news is that my Diabetic Review was good, blood glucose well withing the good range and the nurse was pleased. However, I had another blood test for the pain in my legs, and would you believe it, I've got gout, and low iron, which is causing restless legs. 'So now stated on yet more medication...honestly diabetes is the least of my problems LOL, and of course the tummy problem is still ongoing.
I've just been marking down all the medication and when I take it on a sheet of paper and sticking it on the fridge door, as I'm finding it difficult to keep on top of it all, and there are many more people who take more than I do, I wonder how they manage it all. Anyway, I've got my second Vitamin B12 injection tomorrow, still waiting to see the difference this makes. The car knows it's own way to the surgery these days I've been there so often. Thank goodness for the NHS, where would we be without it! dead I guess.

Well on to my card for today;

An Anniversary card made for a dear friend. A very simple card, an embossing folder from CC and Su paper matted on to purple SU card. I'm not sure where the heart die comes from as I've thrown out the label, a few pearls to embellish.

Alistair has been away for a long beach walk today with his friend, and the weather's held, after the rain last night I doubted if they'd get away, but they did and I dare say he'll be home soon, so better have a look and see what's for dinner, so I'll finish up for now and hope to see you soon, take care of yourselves,

Peony Circlet!

Hello Everyone and I hope you are well and looking forward to the week ahead.

I've been away for the last week in Glasgow as Alistair's brother has been quite ill and need an operation to remove his bowel. Poor man as if cancer isn't enough. Anyway, it all wen well and he will now not experience the awful problems and pain he's been having. Sadly it won't lengthen his life any, but won't have pain. It was discovered that his cancer is more aggressive than thought too, so really it's all about maintaining quality of life now. The visit was really quite fraught for many reasons which I won't go into here, but I came home feeling so dispirited, saddened and angry. All sorts of family things going on. I felt for Alistair who drops his life and races down to support and is left feeling as if he shouldn't have bothered. Families eh!!

Anyway, with all of this I've not been around to comment on your blogs, so sorry about that, and it's just now too much to catch up with, but I'm back in harness now. There is always so much to catch up with when you've been away and I didn't feel much like crafting either, so good job I had this card made a while back;
This is a Honey Doo stamp which I've coloured with Altenew water colour paint. I think it's a fairly new image called Peony  Circlet. The sentiment is from the same set. I've added Wink of Stella and a few pearls. It's a pretty image I think and peonies are another flower that I love and when I see them in the flower shop, I treat myself to a bunch.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my CCC cards, you are so very kind.

That's me for now, I'll love you and leave you and hope to be back soon, take care,

Non Traditional Colours for CCC!

Hello to You All, I hope your weekend is going well. They come around so quickly don't they!. In fact I can hardly believe it's August, I would like to slow it down a bit....time I mean.

So, it's time again for the Christmas Card Club to show their creations, and the theme this time has been chosen by our lovely Sylvie and as you can see from the post's title it's Non Traditional Colours.
Now I'm guessing that traditional colours are red and green, gold and silver, so I've tried to stay away those colours, in the kind of shades that are used on Christmas cards, anyway here's what I've come up with;
Sorry but this was difficult to photo. These little Gnomes are Scandinavian ones and called Tomtes, I think they are so cute, and I decided to put them on black card. They are new from Chocolate Baroque. The stamp has three Gnomes, but I decided to make six of them and coloured them with Gansi Tambi and Colrio Metallic Water colour paints after having embossed them in Wow Silver EP. The sentiment is from Creative Stamping magazine, and I've finished off with a few crystal gems.

Next up is another Tomte Gnome, a larger one this time and he is coloured with Prismacolour pencils and I've created a wee forest scene around him using various pine tree stamps from a few different brands. Now, I know that his house isn't Scandinavian, but I didn't have one, but I thought this one would do, it's from a set by Apple Blossom and I decoupaged the roof, The North Pole sign is also from the Apple Blossom set. Distressed Inks to make the sky and Stampendous Chunky Snow EP. Finished off with a ton of glitter and Star Dust. I'm rather pleased with how this one turned out.

Finally, this gorgeous stamp from CB, another new one called Festive Garden, Windsor and Newton Water colours for this one, Gel Pens and Distressed Ink. The little robin had been decoupaged as I made a mess of the original one and didn't want to start the whole thing all over again, so had a light bulb moment, stamped him out again and stuck him on. A butterfly or gems just wouldn't have covered the awful looking robin, even Alistair turned up his face when I showed him.  Lots of sparkle too.
I hope they will do Sylvie, I love the challenge so thank you, and I got to use these lovely new CB stamps that I bought with the birthday voucher that my lovely friend Rita gave me, so thank you Rita too.

Well it's sweltering here today, there is thankfully a wee breeze, I hope the weather is good where you are.

We are off to a jazz concert tonight, being held in the Cathedral here in Inverness,, really looking forward to it and we'll have our tea out, even better .....no cooking for me tonight.
Scheduling this post for tomorrow for when the CCC goes live.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate your time. Welcome to June who is my latest Follower, it's lovely to see you here and I will be popping over to see you, I hope you will pop in here again.

That's me for now, enjoy the rest of your Saturday,

Buzzing By to Say Hi!

Hello Everyone, how are you all today? hopefully steering clear of the awful floods that's happening in some areas in England, going by the news on the TV it all looks so frightening. Seems so strange to think that the other week we were basking in the glorious sunshine.
We still have the closeness but today it's dull, but no rain, but much cooler in the house and more comfortable.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate you finding the time to visit and leave a comment.

I've got a card today that I made a few weeks ago and it fits the Challenge for Moving Along With the Times; http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com/2019/08/103-be
es-june.html
I've made this card with a lovely stamp set from Woodware Stamps and coloured with Zig watercolour pens, the sunray stencil is from MFT, sentiment is from the stamp set/

Just a short post today, I want to catch up with your blogs too before Downton Abbey comes on. Yesterday's episode was marvellous with the wonderful Shirley McLean as the American Grandmother, and she was the perfect foil for our own Maggie Smith as the English Grandmother, the script writer had given them the most fabulous lines, they were hilarious.

So I'll say cheerio for now and see you soon,
