Ice Cream Anyone?!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and still enjoying the good weather. Although I know many of you prefer it to be a little cooler. For Scotland, we have a scorcher today.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card, which was almost a week ago, so here I have a coloured page;

I thought that this lovely drawing of an ice cream cone was just the thing to colour in light of the hot weather.

I coloured with Polychromos pencils, which I felt didn't suit the paper, finding them a wee bit difficult to blend. Gel pens, Stickles for sparkle. A Lavinia stencil in the background with DI in Victorian Velvet.

I visited my friend Fiona during the week and she was looking so well, considering what she is going through. She is far from out of the woods yet, only halfway through her chemo treatment and then to have radiotherapy. She was describing what the chemo treatment was like and I was sitting cringing, it sounds so awful. Fiona is so upbeat though and taking it all in her stride. It was lovely to spend time with her and Malcolm the cat, a gorgeous white puss, and get some of the world sorted out lol.

Well that's me for now, going out in the afternoon for a cream tea, not had one of those in a while, time for a wee treat. Till next time, take care of yourselves,

Dudley for CCC Cute Christmas!

Hello Everyone, I hope your weekend is going well, ours's is wet. still the plants need the rain.

Another fortnight's gone by and it's time for the Christmas Card Club to show their makes and this time Lorraine has chosen Cute Christmas, or Anything goes.

For this little scene I've combined cute little Dudley from Hobby Art Stamps and Cardi-o trees and grass. Oxide Inks for the background with some Gesso splatters and some silver gel pen. I've coloured the image with Zig watercolour markers and some gold gel pen. Sentiment from the same stamp set and Lavinia Holograph glitter on Dudley's hat.

Can anyone tell me if Hobby Art Stamps have gone out of business?, I just couldn't find it, but other online stamp shops popped up selling Hobby Art stamps. It's certainly been a while since I bought from them so I suppose anything could have happened.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card, always appreciated.

I'll get this scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday for when the post goes live. Have a lovely evening and enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Sending Well Wishes!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and that your weather has cooled down, it certainly has here. It would have been  nice if it had been something in between, but I've had to put a cardi  on. Still it's been dry, so all the towels out and dried.

Thank you to all who left such lovely comments on my little Fairy Boy, very much appreciated.

I have a card this time for a friend who has had a massive stroke, very unexpected and was almost a goner, but he's pulled through, although still very ill. Lots of tests required to see what damage if any done to his brain.  Unfortunately we can't go to visit him at the moment, so this is the card I made for him,

These are dandelion images from Stamping Up, the sentiment too. An imagination circle stencil with DI, Clear Star gel pen on the dandelions and some dots with coloured gel pens.

I hope it cheers him.

Well  that's me for tonight, take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Little Boy Fairy!

Hello Everyone, hope all is well with you and that you are keeping safe in this heatwave. We were at 25 degrees today, but no sun, just cloud, it felt more like a sticky heat. I couldn't cope with the heat that down south is having, anyhoo I hope no one is suffering.

I have a finished page tonight, from c Colouring Heaven book of Fledgling Fairies, and the illustrations are by Christine Karron.

This little cutie has been coloured with Black Widow pencils, which I was disappointed with in terms of blending colours. Perhaps it's the paper in this book. They are also incredibly hard pencils. I used Pan pastels for the skin colouring. Gel pens to add some sparkle. Card-io  snail, ladybird and butterflies, I thought they made a lovely addition and I'm sure little fairy boys like bugs as well as most little boys. Posca pens in different colours to give the impression of flowers.

I did enjoy colouring up this page as I fell in love with it when I first saw it.

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, very much appreciated.

That's me for now, take care of yourselves and hope to see you soon,

Japanese Art!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, and keeping yourselves safe in this amazing heatwave. We were more cloudy than sunny today, but still a good day for the washing to get dry, oh I do lead life on the edge, lol.

Popping in this evening with a finished coloured page from a new book I found in the Works,

This lovely painting is named Great Tit on Paulownia Branch, artist is,

 OharaKo Koson. 1925-36.

I've coloured it up with Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils, beautiful pencils to use. Added little bits of gel pen and Stickles for a bit of sparkle. Here is the book it's from.

There are some beautiful paintings in the book and it was a snip at £4. The Works have some little gems sometimes.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card.

Just a short post tonight, so I'll say cheerio for now and see you soon,

Romance in Paris!

Hello Everyone, mid week already, I hope you are well and having a good week.

It's pretty poor weather here, although I keep reading that there's to be a heatwave at the weekend, I'd settle for less rain and wind.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate all of them and the time it takes to visit my blog.

I have a coloured post card today,

I just love this picture of the cats looking out over the rooftops of Paris. Now I coloured this up a while ago and now can't remember what pencils I used.

This is the book the PC is from, roughly translated is My Journey Through Europe, by Rita Berman.

All these postcards are sent to my friend Fiona, who really humbled me by telling me that it's all my cards that keep her going. I'm so glad she likes them.

So, that's me for now, have a lovely day, but keep yourselves safe, cheerio till next time,

Josie Blowing Wishes!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, but if not, sending Big Hugs.

Weather has taken a turn for the worse the last few days and  it's a bit chillier too, not yet like Summer weather.

We went to the Andrea Botcelli concert on Friday, and it was absolutely awesome. What a voice he has, and the Mezzo Soprano supporting him was amazing too, unfortunately I didn't get her name, it was someone I'd never heard of, but oh my what a deep rich voice she had. Of course, she and Andrea sang Time to Say Goodbye and it just sent a tingle along my spine. He ended the concert with Nessun dorma, just magical. He also came out wearing a jacket he got specially made for him in Inverness Caledonia Thistle colours, a lovely plaid. The concert's venue was held in the football stadium.

His special guest was Nicola Benedetti, a wonderful violinist from Scotland and you could see she just loved playing at home to a Scottish audience.

This was a Birthday gift from Damian and Moreen who also came with us and thoroughly enjoyed it too, all the more so as Moreen had had covid and we didn't know if she would make it or that if Damian would catch  it too, however they did and it was a wonderful evening.

Here's my card;

Using lovely Josie from Lavinia Stamps and little Pippen, I stamped on to an Oxide background, then added some stencil work. toadstools and foliage are also Lavinia stamps.

Dandelion on envelope is from SU.

I was delighted to meet my friend Fiona at the concert, and to see her looking so well. I've not met up with her since she started her chemo, and has been having a rough time of it, this was one of her good days thankfully as it was a goal to get to the concert, and it's boosted her spirits no end.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last card.

Well folks that's me for now, enjoy your evening and see you soon, take care
