Cute and Cosy for CCC!

Hello Crafty Friends and Visitors, welcome to my blog, and love that you continue to visit.
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card, I know it all takes time so it's all very much appreciated.

Well, it's a whole fortnight ago since the Christmas Card Club showed their creations and no it's time once again to show more. Our lovely Zoe is the Hostess choosing the theme this time and it's cards which are Cute and Cosy, of course there is also the option of Anything Goes if you can't manage the theme so that no one misses out.

Here's what I've come up with;
Aren't these Piggies so cute and they are also cosy wrapped up in their blanket!  Hobby Art stamps and I've coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Sakura gel pens.  A couple of dies for embellishment and sequins. Paper is from a very old LOTV paper pad, can't even remember the name.

Using up some old stash, a LOTV Art Pad topper, this cute Teddy, now I'm guessing he's cosy as he's indoors and just peeking out to look a a parcel. Papers are from a First Edition pad, but not sure which one and the sentiment is from a set my lovely friend Mrs. Duck gave me. Lots of sparkle and some gems, of which I think I've lost one and never noticed, as I always stick three on.

Here we go again with another LOTV Art Pad, some cosy, cute bunnies, with a free sentiment from Creative Stamping magazine. Lots of Star Dust for Sparkle, and some old papers.

So, Zoe I hope these will do, it was a lovely challenge which I enjoyed, thank you.

We had a lovely concert last night, all went well, even although the rehearsal in the afternoon, caused a few worries, however we were obviously saving ourselves for the performance. Four young Soloists joined us and they were brilliant, absolutely beautiful voices, especially the Bass/ Baritone, such a powerful rich tone to his voice, it was thrilling to listen to them all. The audience liked it and indeed Alistair thought it was one of our best ever.
Glad it's all over though, it's such a long day and very tiring, but we now have a break until August, and as much as I love the singing, I'm looking forward to the break.

A quiet day for me, not even cooking, going out for a bite to eat later, I hope that you are enjoying your Sunday whatever you're doing. Don't forget to looks at what the other CCC girls make, see you soon,

Christmas Bunnies!

Hello Everyone...Friday again and heading into yet another weekend, seems no time since last weekend. I hope you have some super things planned, but, you might just want to have a quiet one, but whatever enjoy it.

I've got another little card for a challenge today; https://christmaskickstartchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/04/the-christmas-kickstart-challenge-9.html

Cards made with Christmas bunnies, and I found this little stamp from LOTV, that's quite an old one, but rather cute,

I've used Derwent Coloursoft Pencils o colour the image, and the sentiment is from Creative Stamping Magazine. Sequins, glitter and chunky embossing powder.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card. take care everyone and see you soon,

Let the Bells for the Rudolph Challenge!

Hello Everyone, I do hope all is well with you and you have enjoyed your day.
Well the weather has broken, but I guess we need the rain too, however the temperature has dipped too, which I don't like.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my last card, it seems that the Daisy Dress image is a hugely popular one,  It's one of my favourite CB stamps.

I've got a wee card today for the Rudolph Challenge; https://scrapsoflifebyscrappymo.blogspot.com/2019/04/april-rudolph-days-challenge.html

Card-io stamps here, sentiment too, and lots of glitter, a few black sequins and job done.
Sorry about the photo, the card does look better in real life....honestly.

Just a short post tonight, I've got a bit of ironing to do. It's our Choral Concert on Saturday and I've got my outfit to iron and get ready, not leaving it till the last minute like I usually do.

We are singing Hayden's Nelson Mass and Rutter's Magnificat, a lovely programme, but the Rutter piece is quite difficult, and at our last rehearsal on Monday, many of us thought some of the movements were a bit ropy, hopefully it will be all right on the night...as they say.

   So, that's me for now, enjoy the rest of your evening and I'll see you soon,

Daisy Dress!

Hello Everyone from a beautiful sunny, hot Inverness, thankfully there's a wee breeze blowing which keeps it from being too hot.  It's too glorious to do housework, so I've been sitting in the garden reading, Alistair has been cutting the hedge....oh I do like to see a man working.

Anyway, I've popped in with another card for a challenge, I've made a few for various challenges over the last couple of weeks, not something I do normally, but for some reason the challenge themes have appealed to me....never win right enough, lol. So this challenge is http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2019/04/black-and-white.html

Another Chocolate Baroque image, Daisy Dress, stamped in Versafine Claire black ink. It give a fabulous crisp image. Free butterfly stamps from Creative Stamping in the background, black sheer ribbon, black sequins and a few heart gems in the center of some of the daisies. This is one of my favourite stamps from CB and I think it really lends itself to the black and white theme.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card. Hope you are enjoying the holiday weekend, take care and see you soon,

Wishing You Well!

Hello and Happy Easter Weekend to You All, and if the weather is as glorious as ours, well you'll all be enjoying it.

I have to say that today is the first day that I've felt better and doing things, gosh it's been a long haul and made worse by poor sleep, well lack of it really, mind you the sun shining helps. Alistair too has more energy as he is cutting the grass, and he washed the windows, fabulous man that he is.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my blue poppies, and for your continued visits.

Keeping this post short today. I've got another card that I would like to enter into the;
http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/04/april-april-showers-bring-may-flowers.html

The tulips image is one of Chocolate Baroque's Song Bird Tulip set, and I've painted them with Altenew Watercolour paints. The wellies and umbrella are from a set given free with Creative Stamping, and I've used the watercolours paints on them too. I've added some WOS for a wee bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from the same free set as is the little heart and raindrop stamps in the background. To finish off I've added some lovely teardrop gems, with look a bit like rain drops. All the the card is from SU. I think it's a lovely cheery card, not necessarily a get well card, but could be for someone you just wish well.

Hoping to pop over and see Damian and Moreen and of course Milo and Rowan later, apart from that I've nothing else planned, it's marvellous to have that luxury.

So, have a lovely weekend and I'll see you soon, take care,

Pretty Poppies!

Hello Everyone, mid week already. Having an at home today, trying to get some housework done, it's been a bit neglected lately, neither of us with energy to spare. It's a pity the sun isn't shining today as that always spurs me on, never mind needs must.

I hope you are all well, but sending kind and healing thoughts to those who are not so well.

Thank you all for your continued visits and the lovely comments that you leave. Please, leave a comment if you just happen to pop in so that I can return the visit and see what you do.

I have another card today that I'm entering into https://caswatercolour.blogspot.com/2019/04/cas-watercolour-april-challenge.html
This lovely poppy image is from Chocolate Baroque , Pretty Poppies and I've coloured with Altenew Watercolour Paints. These paints are fairly new and they are fabulous to use. The Hello sentiment is on from a free set by Creative Magazine. I was aiming for the Icelandic poppy look, although I think it's the wrong poppy, never mind though, it works. I've layered on to dark blue card.

This is a challenge I've never entered before, but it really appealed to me.

That's me for now, have a good day whatever you're doing and see you soon,

Thinking of You!

Hello Everyone,  I hope you are well and ready for another week, they come around so fast. We have another sunny day, but windy and a bit chilly, but at least it's dry.

Thank you so much for your visits and the lovely comments that you leave, I do appreciate them and your time.

Just a quick post today with a card that I'm entering into the Allsorts Challenge;
http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/04/week-515516-blossoms-butterflies-bugs.html

I've used a Paperartsy stamp which has been embossed in Wow white embossing powder. Pixie Powders are the chosen medium for the background and the flower's petals. I've added a little butterfly which once again uses Pixie Powder and cut out with card and an overlay with vellum. A thinking of you die from CC and a few sequins.

There we are for now, still trying to chase this cold, especially as this is the penultimate choral practice before the concert, and I have to say I don't feel much like signing. Alistair is feeling better, thank you for all your commiserations and get well wishes.

Cheerio for now and see you son,

Winter Scene for the CCC!

Hello Everyone, what a lovely sunny day we've had here, I hope you have had too. It's another weekend and time once again for the Christmas Card Club girls to show their creations and this time it's our Shaz that has chosen the theme and it's cards showing a Winter Scene.

Again, I found some old stash from a magazine that had loads of winter scenes, so I made quite a few cards. Here we go;

I added papers to the background and lots of sparkle, other than that it was just a sticking down job. I've kept them flat for posting, as the postage is horrendous.

My final card is an upcycled one;
I really liked this topper, I love the mono tones so I just added black glitter card and stamped snowflakes in the background. A splash of red with the bow. I've added some gems and glitter.

I hope these will do Shaz, thank you for the challenge, I enjoyed it and of course I've used up some stash I've had for years.

Whilst I've been typing up this post I've also been watching the Big Bear Stakeout, brilliant documentary about Grizzly Bears in Alaska, what incredible animals, and some super camera work of them. Mind you it's had work being a bear, especially for the mothers with cubs finding plenty to eat before the winter sets in. A very interesting programme , with lots of humorous moments, when the bears were fishing in the falls for the salmon. Maybe some of you caught the show.

Well, this is a scheduled post for tomorrow, so remember and have a look at what the other girls create.

I've succumbed to Alistair's cold, so I'm feeling miserable tonight, doped to the eyeballs with paracetamol so I'm hoping it clears up soon.

Thank you all so much for your visits and lovely comments. Take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Friends are like Stars!

Hello Crafting Friends and to Everyone who visits. I hope you are well and having a good day. I can hardly believe that it's Friday again....where did the week go???
I've got a needy and sick man, Alistair has come down with another cold, quite different than the last bout of virus that both of us had. He is actually staying in bed, that's not a good sign for him. I'm just hoping that it's not passed to me as our concert is only two weeks away and I would hate to miss it at this late stage. Anyway, I'm getting good exercise going up and down the stairs...every cloud eh.

Thank you for you lovely comments on my previous card, very much appreciated.

My card today is one made for Allsorts Challenge; http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/04/week-514-sentiment-in-focus.html
I love this sentiment from Inkylicious, which I've embossed in WOW white EP and my background is coloured with Altenew Watercolour paints on to Fabriano cold pressed watercolour paper. White acrylic paint for the stars.
I think it's just the perfect sentiment for someone finding life a bit of a struggle and felling alone.

Just a shot post, I was hurrying to finish this and get it posted as the Challenge closes in a couple of hours.

Have a lovely day and I'll see you soon.

A Dip in the Sea!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good day. We have sunshine and a little warmth, made me want to go out for a walk this  morning.

We walked down to the University Campus to have a look at the swans and those of you who have been following me for a while will know that for the last few years there has been a family of swans on the lochans in the campus grounds, and mum and dad swan have raised three lots of cygnets, I think it's three, and they have managed to keep them all safe. Quite amazing, and they have had 7 and 8 at a time, so that in my book is good parenting.

Sadly, last year the male swan was killed by a dog, yes there are lots of dog walkers who let their pooches run free, and this poor swan died as a result of an attack.  We did wonder what Mrs swan would do, but she turned up with a new man and they are now building their nest, so it looks as if  he has come up to the mark. and suits her. So looking forward to seeing more cygnets later this year.

So, I've a summer card today;
A fabulous new stamp from Kim Moody made by Chocolate Baroque and I've coloured it with Altenew Watercolour paints and Sparkle Pens. The parasol, bucket and spade and deckchair I've stamped and cut out and added as embellishments. Sentiment from CB.
Background papers is from Crafty Individuals and the card base is from SU.

Just had to show the lovely paper in the inside of the card too, it's all from  The Seaside paper pad.
I love this image of beach huts, something I would love to have, not too many of them around the Scottish beaches though.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my last card, I appreciated your visits.

I missed visiting your blogs yesterday, so I hope to catch up today.
That's me for now, take care and see you soon,

Thanks!

Hello Everyone, hoping you are well and enjoying the weekend, it's come around so fast.
Another dull and dreich day here, shame as yesterday was a beautiful sunny day although cold, but it made one want to get up and go. Today, I didn't feel like that but had to get going as I wanted to catch the bank before closing at mid day.

Alistair is back having spent a few days with his brother, so it's good to have him home, even if peace and quiet is shattered.

Thank you so much for your visits and your kind comments, I do appreciated it all.

I have a little card today;
This looks a bit washed out, but in real life it's quite a bright wee card.  The stamps are by Dovecraft and the paper is from the pad that matches it. Coloured with alcohol markers and a wee bit of sparkle pen. Sentiment is from Honey Doo crafts and a few sequins from SU. Just a simple little thank you card.

Well, time for a wee bit of knitting, I'm not inspired to be card making today, I think because it's so dull. I've got socks for Alistair on the go and I'm son the second sock. I've had a good long break from knitting, but I'm enjoying that I've started again.

That's me for now, take care and have a super weekend,

Floral Perfumery!

Hello Everyone,  I hope you are doing well and your weather isn't as bad as ours. Throughout the night and still, it's been sleety rain and wind, certainly a day for indoors, even Teallach doesn't want to go out.

Alistair is away for a few days visiting his brother and they had planned to go down the coast, probably Ayr for a fish tea. Karen was taking the day off to drive them down and have the day there, well that's knocked on the head as the rain in the Central Belt is just as bad.  Jim is doing well and not having any side effects from the chemo which continues to be good, of course he may be one of these folks who manage to escape the nasty harsh effects of the treatment, let's hope so.

Anyway Teallach and I are just chilling...chilling is definitely the word as it's got so cold again, still I'm getting things done around the house and crafting done.

I have a card today that I'm entering into;
http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/03/week-513-use-yellow.html

 Isn't  this a gorgeous stamp? Floral Perfumery from Chocolate Baroque, and I've used Gansi Tambie water colour paints in pearl shades. the background is a brocade stamp which is also from CB and the colours are Distressed inks.
Paper is from Crafty Individuals Spring paper bad. Lemon and lilac card. A few sequins to finish.
I hadn't noticed that I'd got Puss in the photo too, so just decided to leave him there
Disappointing that the colours are not showing up as vivid as they really are in reality, don't know if it's my camera, or the light, but more than likely it's just my pants photography.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, you are all so very kind and I do so appreciate every word.

I've made a pan of lentil soup for later, when Alistair is away I tend to eat insensibly, not good for a person with diabetes, but I can never be bothered to cook for one, but  reckoned that soup would be fit the bill especially today when it's such a dreich day.

Well crafty friends, that's me for now, I hope you are enjoying your day whatever your doing, take care and see you soon,
