Birthday Shoe!

 Hello Everyone, I hope your are all well and enjoying your Saturday.

I had to go into town this morning as I wanted to take a couple of things back to M&S, and getting in early makes all the difference, and it was beautiful and sunny, but now the clouds are coming in and it looks like rain, in fact it looks thundery. Alistair has been out doing a bit of weeding and is now dosing in the chair. He had a very long day yesterday as he was away for a walk with his friend, and walked more than they intended and it was over rough ground. He was never coming home and I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to call someone out, he was much later than he said he would be. I thought I'll give him another hour which would have been 10 pm and if he's not home, I'll do something, luckily, he arrived back around 9.30 pm, absolutely exhausted.

Anyway, I've a card to show tat was made for a friend's birthday'

From Carnation Crafts, shoe dies and frames. All I added was coloured card and gems and sparkle. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to wear shows like this. I fall off flatties now lol.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my last post, as usual you are all very kind.

Just before I go, here's a photo of a sleeping beauty

He's gonna have a sore neck.

Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you soon,

Get Well Soon!

 Hi there, I hope you are all well, and enjoying your day.

What strange weather we are having, rain like stair rods all morning and now the sun is splitting the sky. I hope you are fairing better.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my CCC post, I do appreciate everyone of them. Thanks too for the comments regarding the Feedburner thingy. Seems like most people are in the same boat. I used to have a thing that said Follow me on Blogloving, but that's long since disappeared. I'm wondering if Blogging is coming to an end, which would be a pity. I put my coloured pages on FB, but only on the Colourist's groups, and on Instagram, but I don't really put cards on and I don't write anything other than what mediums I've used. I would certainly miss the more personal touch of Blogging.

Anyhoo, I've got a card for my friend Fiona, who is having problems healthwise just now, I hope it cheers her up a bit.

I found one of the LOTV Art Pads and thought this was just lovely, I just matted and layered, added a sentiment and glitter and a few sequins. My bow is pants, no matter and even with a bow making gismo, I still can't make them, so I've added a wee gem butterfly to it. I hope Fiona likes it.

Well, that's me for now, just a short post today, so take care and see you soon,

Winter Scene for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, how are you all doing? I hope your weekend is going well and you have some great plans, weather permitting of course. Our weather is very chilly and the rain has been awful, not at all like May.

Anyhoo, two weeks have gone by and it's time again for the Christmas Card Club girls to show their latest cards. This time it's Christine who has chosen the theme and it to show a Winter Scene so here's what I've made;

All of my cards this time are printed sheets from LOTV Esty Shop. I tried three times to stamp and colours images and all of them landed in the bin, so as time was getting short, I had to think what I could come up with, then a lightbulb moment.....LOTV came to the rescue. All I've added has been, sentiments, card, paper, glitter and gems.

Thank you Christine, it was a lovely challenge, even although I struggled a bit. I love these images and the village scene are so traditional.

The images I was trying to colour were very small and I had difficulty seeing what I was doing, even with may glasses on. Now, I thought that I would need new reading glasses, but I got my eyes tested last week and the optician said there was very little difference and didn't change the prescription, but I might go back and speak to him.

So, thank you for all the super comments on my steampunk fish, and a Hello to my new Followers, who sadly doesn't seen to have a Blog, so I can't return the visit, but I do hope you visit again.

Question??? what are folks doing about this notice regarding Feedburner? I'm pretty sure no one contacts me by email to leave a comment on my blog, so maybe I don't need to do anything, what do people think?

That's me for now, remember to have a look at what the other CCC girls make, they are always brilliant cards, and I'll see you soon,

Steampunk Shark!

 Hello to You All,, I hope you are well and your week has got off to a good start..

Well, we've all opened up a bit more, and folks are flying off to warmer climates, I wonder how  that will do! Alistair and I are just doing what we have done for the last year and a bit and keeping safe.  I had to go to the shops yesterday, and I was so excited that we could now HUG, so I went looking for folk to hug and couldn't find anyone lol. Like many of use I've not been able to hug Damian and Moreen and hopefully, maybe this weekend I'll see them . I don't go over to their house during the week as they work for home and I wouldn't want to disturb them, si I'll look forward to the weekend.

Anyhoo, I've got another finished page for you and it's another from Johanna Basford's new book Worlds of Wonder;

 I thought this was a fabulous image to colour as I like steampunk. The shark is coloured with Prismacolours and a Faber Castell soft pastel background. I've added some sealife images to keep him company. I was really pleased with how it turned out, especially as I was trying to recreate a metallic look for the shark, hope you like it.

Thank you all for the lovely comments you leave, it's so much appreciated.

I'm hoping it's no going to rain, I've just put washing out, it's still quite cold here, especially in the shade, doesn't feel like May at all.

Right i oh, that's me for today, have a good one and hope to see you soon, keep yourselves safe. I always feel like the police sergeant  in Hill Street Blues.....remember that programme, I loved it, anyway, the officer always told his officers to "keep safe out there."  on the mean streets of New York. I wish the TV moguls would bring back that series.

But for now,

Flying South for Winter!

 Hello Everyone, I hope your week's got off to a good start and that your are all well.

We had a lovely weekend, didn't do all that much, weather wasn't all that good, but hey ho, that's British weather for you.

We had a lovely walk around our Uni Campus and delighted to see that our swans have seven cygnets, just wee balls of fluff, but out swimming with their parents. We were just enchanted watching them being led by mum back to their nest, playtime must have been over, and dad was herding up the stragglers and waiting to make sure all of the cygnets managed to climb back into the nest, so wonderful to watch them.

Thank you so much for your continued visits and the lovely comments you leave, so much appreciated.

I have a coloured page this evening;

This is the first double page I've tackled, and I felt a bit daunted by it, but once I got started it all came together. It's from a Rita Berman book, My Autumn walk is the translation;

My picture has been coloured with Prismacolour pencil and the sky coloured with Bambino Clay Crayons. I love the picture of the geese flying off and in my own story they are flying off to warmer climes. I love this artist's books the illustrations are fabulous.

Well that's me for now, I've had a busy day so it's time to get my feet up and have a cuppa. So take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Ice Skating or other Winter Sports for CCC!

Hello Everyone, another dreich day, and a day for indoors, having said that we did manage a walk around the canal in the morning and luckily got the best of the day.

I hope you are well and have something good to do this weekend, even if it's just staying in and crafting.

We are glued to the TV for the Scottish Election Results, all very exciting and very different due to the pandemic. It seems this election is very important to the Scottish people as there has been a much higher turn out than ever, anyhooo we are still counting and won't know the end result until possibly tomorrow, Sunday.

So it's Christmas Card Club once again... where did the last two weeks go to??? Gwen did the choosing this time and it was to see skates or other Winter sports on cards.

I struggled a bit and had to have a good rummage around in my stash for something that was close to the challenge. here's what I came up with,

This is a topper I've had for years and I'm pretty sure this pretty lady is skating going by her body position. I just added some backing paper and gems.

Another topper from years ago, with a sweet little bear having fun on a sledge, I just added background papers and mirror card, with glitter and gems.

These cute children are on skates, I love the vintage look of it and I carried it through with brown  glitter card and toning paper, a few gold pearls and glitter.

I hope they will do Gwen, it was a lovely challenge and glad I could use up more years old stash.

I'm going to schedule this post for tomorrow.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last post. That's me for now, take care and enjoy your weekend,

Iggy the Iguana!

 Good Evening Everyone, I hope your day's been good with some decent weather.

Boy is is icy cold here in Inverness and I wouldn't have ventured out but it was polling day and I had to go and put my Xs in the boxes. It was all a bit different this time around at our local school where the polling took place, managed to get myself a bit lost in the building, anyway job done and I hope for the best. I was amazed at the amount of weird and certainly not wonderful political parties on the ballot paper, and I had to go to nearly the end of the paper to find the one I was voting for. All I can say that there must be a hell of an amount of people with money to waste as they will have no chance of getting many if any votes, but I guess that's democracy.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last coloured picture, I do appreciate your continued visits and the kind words you leave.

I have another page and it's from my planner;

I've named this wee guy Iggy and I think it's Johanna's version of an Iguana, anyhoo I've coloured him with Castleart Botanical pencil set. This is a new pencil set and quite inexpensive, but has lovely colours. I used a Gina K stencil and Distressed Inks for the background. Hope you like him, I'm just pleased to finish another page in my planner.

That's me for now, keep safe and I'll see your soon,

Floral Rabbit!

 Hello Everyone, how's your weekend going? I do hope you are enjoying it and that your weather is good.

We were going to go for a drive, but decided not, so I got on with bread and soup making. I used to make our bread, but for some reason, I decided that I wasn't going to any more and threw out my bread making books, I also had a machine and got rid of that too, Who's a numpty!!, of course I decided that I wanted to start again as I really find bread in this country so tasteless. So now I'm looking for some really good bread recipes/books. I even made a cheese loaf for Damian and Moreen who said it would go well with their pasta for dinner.

So, I've been busy finishing off a page in a Hanna Karlzon book;

I though this was a lovely illustration, and I don't colour animals all that often so I thought I'd give this one a go. I've used Prismacolours, soft pastels for the background and some Stickles.

Thank you for all the kind comments you leave about my projects, I do appreciate your visits.

Well, it's feet up now, a cuppa in a wee while, and a bit of TV.

Enjoy your evening and see you soon,
