A Fold Back Card for Back to Basics and Beyond Challenge!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying your day.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last card, much appreciated.

I'm here today with my DT card for the 4th challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond, BBB, "A Fold Back Card";

This is such a super card design to do, however, it's not one I do often or at all really, so this was fun to make.
I've taken a 7" card base and folded the front in half. Added beautiful paper from Crafty Individuals and the corner die is also CI.
The beautiful floral image is by Chocolate Baroque, Lords and Ladies stamp set coloured with Kuretake watercolours. I also stamped the image over the paper in the inside of the card. The background is also from CB, Square Bubbles. I've added Sparkle Pens and some Star Dust, a CB sentiment stamped and heat embossed on to vellum and a few black gems.

BBB is a new challenge blog and it's aim is to not only introduce techniques to folks starting out making cards and papercrafts, but also to refresh the more experienced crafter's skills.

We would love you to join us, and there will be plenty of inspiration from the other DT members to offer inspiration.

You can find the blog Here

We look forward to seeing your creations,
I would like to enter my card into the http://www.fashionablestampingchallenges.com/

Season's Greetings!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying some of this good weather, although I'm hearing that some areas in Englandshire are having such heavy rain, thunder and lightening, hope that's not some of you fine folk.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my previous post, very kind of you and I appreciate each one of them.

The sun has been glorious here and we took ourselves off for a drive to Findhorn, where there is a lovely beach. Well the world and his missus was there, and we waited around an hour for our lunch order to arrive. The little beach cafe were so overwhelmed with people that it was difficult to cope. The owner kept coming out and offering us extra drinks whilst we waited and even a bowl of chips which Alistair devoured as he said he felt as it his throat had been cut. Anyway when our food arrived it was worth the wait.

So my card today is the opposite of a hot sunny day, it's a Snowman;
This is a Papermaina stamp and I've coloured him with Zig watercolour pens, and inked around the edges with DI. Parcel dies from Tattered Lace, gems and Star Dust for that added sparkle.

That's me for now, enjoy the rest of your evening and see you soon,

Trees for CCC!

Hello to You All, I hope you are having a lovely weekend with lots of great things planned. Mind you if you are anything like me, pottering around at home is just as good.

Can you believe  a fortnight has passed since the last Christmas Card Club posts, passing all to quickly for my liking.

This time around our lovely Shaz would like to see Trees, indoor or outdoor ones. I've opted for outdoor;
All images and sentiment from Inkylicious and stamped with shades of Momento blue inks. Quite pleased with how this card turned out. I do like mono coloured cards.

Anyway, I hope you like it. It's never too late to join us us CCC girls and get ahead with your Christmas cards before the rush. Just get in touch and I will point you in the right direction.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my previous card.
Short and sweet today, I'm scheduling this for tomorrow Sunday when the challenge goes live. Please pop in and visit the other team members as they always have wonderful cards, see you soon.

Belle Flower!

Hello Everyone, have you had a good day, I hope so and enjoyed some good weather.

My day began well as I was meeting my Choral Buddy Fiona for a coffee and a catch up this morning, and naughty pair that we are along with our coffee we had a lemon muffin. My first sweet thing in about four weeks, and it was divine, that will keep me going for a while.

Once back home and switching on my laptop, I found that the Windows updates that I left to run last night hadn't, so I began again. Then the blasted thing got stuck in a loop and kept telling me that it was restoring to previous system. I won't go into it you'd only be bored silly, but it took me about three hours to fix it out, and be able to get back into the system. Windows 10 keeps updating it's self and there seems to always be problems with it. Microsoft is always adding new things to the system and tweaking it, anyway here I am now able to post a new card;
This is a huge background stamp from Chocolate Baroque called Belle Flower and I've used watercolours to colour it up. I stamped it twice so that I could cut out some flowers and decoupage it. Background paper  is by Lesley who owns CB, sentiment is also CB, a few pearls and a dragonfly gem and that's the card complete.

Thank you for you lovely comments on my last card, I always appreciate your visits.
Just a short post tonight, my bed and book calls, so take care and see you soon,

Tower of Jolly Snowmen!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoyed  d your weekend. We had glorious weather, but today the rain has been chucking it down and been so dull I needed o put lights on to see what I was doing, can hardly believe the change.

I had a lovely quiet weekend and Alistair walked 30 odd miles, he is mad, but thoroughly enjoyed his time out in the hills.

Thank you for your visits and lovely comments, I really do appreciate your time.
I've got a Snowman card today, well Snowmen really;
I just love this stamp from Woodware and I've coloured it with Zig Watercolour pens, added some Star Dust for a little sparkle and glossy stuff to the snowman's pipe. I've kept it clean and simple as I'm entering it into the http://caschristmascardchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/cas-christmas-may-challenge.html

It's a short post today, off to have my dinner, mince, tattie and dumplings, good Scottish fare, you've you've got something tasty too,take care of yourselves and see you soon,

You're in My Thoughts!

Hello Everyone, I hope your are well and enjoying the good weather, we have another gorgeous day here and Teallach and I have been taking advantage of it sitting in the garden.
Teallach has discovered a little Field Mouse living in a pile of large stones in our neighbour's garden and thankfully not caught it yet, but he is ever hopeful. The little thing came out yesterday, and my boy chased it around the stones, but the mouse disappeared back into the pile. I know it's what cats do, but he got a telling off, totally ignored me though.

Anyway, thanks for your visits and your lovely comments on my last cards. I'm afraid the photo was pants, and I should have photoed them individually or in sets, I'll know better next time.

I'm back today to share one of those cards as I had used a CB stamp ;
 I was particularly pleased with this card, and will post it on the CB FB page. I coloured the image with Zig Watercolour pens, and the paper is First Edition Noir et Chic .Butterfly die is one from Die'sire.

To finish off here is Teallach, sound asleep, no doubt dreaming of the mouse, I love the way he's resting his head on his paw,

 This is a new sleeping place he's taken up, perhaps the heat from the sun is inviting for him.

That's me for today, Alistair is taking me out for a bit of lunch, making up for him escaping to the hills for the next few days.

Take care of yourselves ,and see you soon,

Use Your Paper for BBB!

Hello Everyone, back sooner than I expected, I trust you are well and hopefully enjoying the lovely warm day.

There is a new challenge blog in town called Back to Basics and Beyond,BBB. you can find it here and I've been invited to be part of the new Design Team. The Blog is aimed at helping new crafted learn technique, and perhaps refreshing seasoned crafters skills. There is lots of interesting techniques planned for the coming weeks, so why not pop in for a visit as see what it's all about.

Today sees the third challenge and called "Use your Paper", the paper in question is a 12x12  sheet of paper and to see how many card you can make with it. Here is what I've managed to create with the beautiful First Edition Noir et Chic paper;
The paper is a beautiful cream and black/grey design and the sheet I chose was double sided which let me have contrast to my designs. I've also used the paper to cut out the various dies I've used to embellish the cards, so I managed five cards in all as you can see..
One one card I used one of CB new stamps from the Lords and Ladies set and coloured it with watercolours to tone in with the colour theme.
I expected to be daunted with this challenge, but I found I enjoyed it as it let me revisit my beautiful papers, and the ideas kept flowing.

I hope you will join in the challenge, it's fun. Pleased have a visit with the other DT members and see what they have created.

Thank to everyone who has left comments on my last card.
Have a lovely day,

Just for You!

Hello Everyone and welcome to my Blog, lovely to see you here. Hoping everyone is well, but for those of you who are not, sending out kind and healing thoughts.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my CCC card, you are very kind.

Are you having good weather?? Yesterday was sweltering, just a wee bit too hot for me, but still lovely, today has been a bit overcast, but still warm, but it looks like the week has to be really good.
In a bid to get away from "that wedding", Alistair has decided to take himself off up into the mountains for a couple of nights, quite forgetting that I would like to also get away from it,......not we are definitely not royalists, not even to see what the dress is like. I plan to get quite a bit of crafting and reading done.

Anyway enough of all that, here is my card for today;
I bought this little set of stamps from Hobby Art, designed by Lisa and who's second name escapes me for now. She designed these particular stamps with sewing friends in mind. I think they are a pretty little set. Coloured with Prisma Colour Pencils and Sparkle Pens. I found an old Papermania paper pad on a sewing theme and used that in the background. I stamped on to Desert Storm card from CC. Just one for my box.

Our beautiful Mr. and Mrs. Swan are back at out uni campus and they have produced seven cygnets. Alistair was privileged to witness one of them hatching. He took these photos of them the other night;
Here's proud mum, looks like she is suggesting going into the water,
At this point mum was looking out into the pond and making a bit of a noise, then dawned on me she was calling for dad to help.
Here they all are  out for a paddle. The parent are so very protective.
Now this was interesting to watch, the parents were pulling up the reeds and smacking their feet on the bottom to loosen up the sand so that the cygnets could get the plants and whatever to eat, so clever.
Last one,
Here the cygnets are getting in amongst reeds.
It was just lovely watching these beautiful creatures with their little family, and we are so lucky to have them back for the third brood.  Hope you've not been bored.

Well that's me for now, hope to be back soon, take care of yourselves,

Sentiment as Focus for CCC!

Hello Everyone, I hope you've had a lovely Saturday. We had wonderful sunshine and a bit of heat today, so I hope you had the same.
Well once again it's time for the Christmas Card Club ladies to show their creations, where did the last two weeks go...... the come around too quickly. Anyway, it's our lovely Carol who has chosen the theme this time an she would like to see a sentiment as the focus of the card. Here is mine;
I'm very fond of this lovely Crafty Individual stamp and use it every year. I've heat embossed with white powder on to Kraft card and then mated it on to an embossed piece of green card. The paper is an old Papermania one. The bells and star dies are from Dovecraft, a bow and little red gems completed the look.

I'm afraid I had only time to make one card Carol, but I did enjoy the challenge, so thank you for your choice.

This will be a scheduled post for tomorrow when the challenge goes live. If you have time please visit the other CCC ladies and see their lovely creations.

Thank you all for your continued visits and the lovely comments.  Enjoy your evening and see you soon,

Straight to the Point!

Hello to You All, I hope all is well with you and that you've had a good day.
I've had an at home day, whilst Alistair was up a mountain, where he encountered a blizzard at the top. However he's back home safe and sound and pleased with himself as it's the first mountain he's managed to get up this year.

So, my day was housework and a bit of time in my craft room.

I had my appointment with the nurse at the Diabetic Clinic at the hospital yesterday, and she was so very helpful, she has made some suggestions and changed my needles to smaller ones and this could help with absorption. New BG targets, and a few tweaks with the insulin. I have to say that I felt a huge lift of stress after my time with her. So that's good.

Thank you for all your visits and lovely comments, most appreciated. A warm welcome to my new followers too, I hope you will pop in often to see what I'm creating.

I've got a card to share today,
 Well this little guy from Hobby Art Stamps is certainly getting straight to the point, all the images and sentiment are from Hedgehogs  stamp set. Coloured with Zig Pens and the papers are from Crafty Individuals, a few pearls and job done.
Now, I don't know if you've noticed  my mistake... and I almost tossed it in the bin, but I rather liked what I'd done, so decided just to let it alone and post it anyway.  I've stamped the whole thing with the hedgehog upright instead of it lying across the grass. I did wonder about the little squiggle on the base of the pot, but didn't realise it was a bit of grass until it was all put together. So in my imagination the hedgehog has rocked the pot and turned it upright LOL!!

Hoping now to get around to visiting your blogs, so I'll say cheerio and see you soon,

Blue Moon!

Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday, at least I hope it is for you.  Theses weekends are coming and going so quickly aren't they.

We are good here. I thought that Teallach and I would have a quiet weekend as Alistair and the "Boys" were off on their adventures again. They were going into the Torridon  Mountains for the holiday weekend and left with all their toys on Friday afternoon. Both Teallach and yours truly crossed paws and  fingers that the weather wood be good. Received a phone call last night from beloved hubby to say they were coming home as there was a hurricane blowing and the the guy ropes on the tepee were ripped off and the game was a bogey, and if that wasn't bad enough, the rain stared to come down in chunks....apparently. So I do not believe in the power of crossed fingers any more.

Anyway, enough of that, here is my card share today,
Now, something I don't do nowadays is use a crafting CD, but as I wanted to enter a challenge, I found this in my cupboard. I also discovered why I don't do CD crafting as it took ages to find what I wanted to use, had to go through every file on the CD, then I had trouble getting from the  p to the printer, kept telling me it was offline, it wasn't, then the amount of ink it uses is amazing and I'll have to buy more coloured ink now. It's not for me really, but I'm quite pleased with how this has turned out.
The name of the CD is Kimono by Crafters Companion, there are some gorgeous images on it. I used a Chinese Lantern die from Die'sire and a few gems and sequins.

Thank you everyone who visited and left comments on my last card, it's really appreciated.
So that's me for now, I hope you are having a lovely Holiday weekend, mine is scuppered due to the weather, and now I've to listen to the fiddle playing and thumping as my Darling practices, poor Teallach is under the table.

Spring Bird!

Hello to You All, I hope all is good with you and that the week is going well for you so far.....mid week already, where has the time gone!!

Been a mixed day today, very heavy rain through the night, I know cos I saw every hour....shattered today, and quite a few showers throughout the day. I'm hoping the weather shaped up for Alistair and his chums who are off for a few days of fun in the hills on Friday, and if all goes well he won't be back till Monday, obviously Teallach and I have all fingers and paws crossed that the weather hold for them.

Thank you all for your visits and the lovely comments on my last cards, I do appreciated the time you take.

I've a card that I made for Crafty Individuals when I was their GD way back in February and had forgotten to post;
 CI -483 this lovely image has been coloured with Faber-Castelle  Pastel Pencils. Background made with Oxides, base card is Kraft card. My little dragonfly is a CI die cut out in velum and with a few gems.

A short post this time around, so I'll love you and leave you and see you soon,
