Lots of Layers for the CCC!

 Hi there, how are thing with you all? I hope that your weather is good and you are enjoying your weekend.

We have has a lovely few days with temperatures comfortable for me, can't be doing with it baking hot, and great for getting the washing out and dried......gosh I live an exciting life lol.

Anyway, here we are once again showing our makes for the Christmas Card Club Challenge and this time it's Lorraine who has chosen the theme, which is Lots of Layers. Here's what I managed;

 Both my cards are made with LOTV digital images, and this second card also has a LOTV sentiment. Apart from glitter card and coloured card for layers all I've added is glitter and gems.

I finally got my printer working, not wirelessly though, I had to give up on that as nothing I tried worked, even a WhatsApp chat with an HP person didn't work as her system was down, mind you she couldn't understand my question. So, I ended up with a USB cable and I'm happy with that, not so convenient as I have to take the laptop into my craftroom where the  printer is, but no big deal.

Anyhoo, Lorrain thank you so much for the lovely challenge, and I got to use the lovely Noel image which I had planned for last challenge with the candle theme, I enjoyed the challenge.

I had my results back from my endoscopy test, and thankfully no cancers were found, however, I have something called angiodysplastic lesion in my colon which are blood vessel that bleed into the colon and polyps in my stomach, both could be causing the anemia, so I've to go for more camera tests for them to decide on treatment. I can't bear the thought of having to drink that vile stuff again, but I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet. A real relief though to know there was nothing sinister found.

The Professor has made arrangements for the tests, but hasn't told me when, so I'll have to phone the hospital next week. He also said that he was aware of my diabetes and was impressed with how I managed my blood sugar over the time I was without insulin and food, i must have a gold star somewhere lol.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and encouragement regarding going for the test, and a thank you too for the lovely comments on my coloured page.

Right it o, that's me for now,  remember to look at what the other team members create, their card are always fabulous, till next time take care of yourselves

Fairytale Forest!

 Hello Everyone, back at last. Sorry not to have been around over the week, but I'm afraid I just felt completely washed out with this medical procedure, so tired and concerned as I couldn't eat for a couple of days and couldn't take my insulin. I had to drink some awful solutions, totally vile, I really don't want to have to do it again, so I do hope the camera managed to get all the photos it needs inorder to let the consultant see what's going on.

Anyway, I hope you are all well and that you have good plans for the weekend, if it's just a quiet one your having.

Thank you for your good wishes on my procedure and for the lovely comments on my CCC cards, always so appreciated.

I have a coloured page today;

This lovely picture is from Christine Karron's beautiful book Fairies and Fantasy Grayscale colouring book.

I've coloured the page in mainly Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils. Prismacolours were used to create that firey red hair, and a mixture of Luminance and Derwent Drawing pencils for the trees.

I am so delighted with how this has turned out as I steer away from pictures like this, but I've managed it quite well and has given me confidence to tackle more portrait pictures.

 This is the name plate, I always try to do this page as it's a good way of testing out what pencils suit the paper, but I think this is quite a pretty illustration.

It's a dull day here, don't think there is much prospect for sunshine. I can hardly believe how far along in the year we are, it's another one that is speeding past.

Sorry not to have been visiting your blogs, and it's too far along to catch up, but hopefully I can get around them now.

I'll finish off now and and keep safe and I'll see you soon,

Candles for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend and that your weather is good.

We went sailing yesterday, I was invited to go with the guys and it was marvellous, but more about that further down the post.

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge and this time is our Valery who has chosen cards with candles on them. Now I bought quite a few LOTV digital stamps and had a beautiful one all lined up for this challenge, but couldn't print it out, as my printer isn't going online. I believe this is to do with having a new router and it not recognising the printer, but having spent the best part of the day trying to work out how to fix this I had to give up, so my cards are not quite what I'd planned, but at least I've go something, well two really.

Both images are from Geko Galz and you'll notice that they both have lanterns and I would guess that they have candles in them...a bit of artistic licence lol. I've jazzed them up with gems and Stickles for sparkle, and used some lovely papers and glitter card.

I hope these will do  Valery, and thank you for the lovely challenge, I did enjoy making my cards.

So on to my little sailing trip. We sailed part way down Loch Ness, on Tor's little boat, and stopped off at Drumnadrochit for a wee picnic. Getting on and off the boat was something else for a wee stiff lassie, but I made it with the help of the other crew members;

Alistair, Tor and Derek and a picnic

This beautiful ship is a Baltic Trader and 129 years old, all wood and brass, and belongs to friends of Tor and we were invited on board and what a fiasco that was for me trying to get on, but made it once again, and sailed with them for a bit, and had a couple of glasses of wine too. Then as Alistair had his fiddle and Malcolm the ships owner had his guitar we had a wee musical session,

By this time it was realised that we needed to get back in order to go through the locks before they closed for the night, so Tor's boat was attached to the large one and was towed along, then we had to get back into the smaller boat to go through the locks, here is the Kommandor sailing into berth

I've put the photos around the wrong way, this is beitn towed along the Loch.

I had such a wonderful day and just what I needed, after 18 months staring a four walls, like many folks. Loch Ness is so beautiful, and although not the best of days it was pretty calm and it was so good to be out in the fresh air, meeting new people and being so welcomed on this beautiful ship.  It will keep me going for a good while and it took my mind off the medical procedure I'm having on Wednesday to investigate what's going one with my stomach. I'm not looking forward to it as having diabetes makes things a bit more complicated as I have to stop eating the day before and not take any insulin, so it means monitoring my Blood Glucose very closely. Anyway, I do need to get this sorted.

I'm afraid this is such a long post, so don't feel you have to keep reading, but thank you if you do.

Also thank you for the lovely comments on my last post, I do appreciated them.

Please remember to have a look at what the other team members create, their cards are always fabulous.

That's me for now, enjoy the rest of your weekend and keep yourselves safe, see you soon,

Just for You!

 Hello Everyone, I hope all is good with you and that your week is off to a great start.

Our weather here is really up and down, sun one minute, rain the next, but at least not the extreme conditions that some countries are having, for that we have to be grateful.

I have a card I made for a friend who is struggling with her health just now;

I just love this beautiful Woodware stamp and I've coloured with Prismacolor pencils. My lovely friend Mrs. Duck gave me the lovely papers at birthday time and I thought they suited perfectly, finished up with a few coloured pearls.

Well life in the Currie household is very quiet, so no new or wee stories to tell you, but quiet is good. Scotland is now in Zero restrictions, but for Alistair and myself, it makes no change, we will continue wearing our masks, which are still mandatory, for a good while yet, and I'm not ready to go out clubbing yet.....as if lol. So still being very careful. Hope all of you are too.

That's me for now folks, take care and see you soon,

Phalanx of Umbrellas!

 Hello there, how are you all doing, well I hope. Gosh we are mid week already, the weeks are just flying past. Have you noticed that it is getting darker earlier now too, soon be dark at 4 o'clock lol. Anyway, I hope your week is going well.

Alistair is away sailing with a couple of friends, so it's just Teallach and me for a couple of days, nice and quiet and I've control of the TV gizmo.

Thank you everyone who manages to visit and for the lovely comments you leave, all appreciated .

I have a coloured page today;

This Phalanx of umbrellas.....yes that's the collective noun for the, or one of them, the other is Spawn, but I preferred phalanx. So, I've coloured them with FC Polychromos pencils, DI with a cloud stencil in the background and of course Stickles for sparkle. I was really pleased with how this page turned out.

Here is the lovely book it's from, and loosely translated is, my lovely Spring Walk.

Well, that's me for now folks, away to zap my mushroom soup which will do me for my tea with some crusty bread. Enjoy your evening and see you soon, keep safe,

Two Patterned Papers for the CCC!

 Hello to Everyone, I hope all is well with you and you're enjoying the weekend.

Not raining, not boiling hot sunshine so I've got a bit done in the garden and Alistair is cutting the grass, or to be more accurate the moss and dandelions.

Anyhoo, it's once again time for the Christmas Card Club girls to show their latest challenge cards and this time it was Grandmargaret's choice which was to use two patterned papers. I have to say this did challenge  me as I don't really use papers now, hate all the measuring and matching papers, but I managed three,

All the images and the sentiment are from Crafty Individuals and coloured with Caran d'Ache Luminance coloured pencils, lots of glitter and gems. The sentiment card uses papers from Crafty Individuals too, I added a little bow and a charm. I can't remember when I last used charms or bows if it comes to that.

Thank you Margaret for the challenge, I hope these will do.

Now I must get round to visiting your blogs, I've just not managed to keep up with the commenting in that last few days.

Thank you all so much for your visits and lovely comments, I do appreciated the time you take to do this.

That's me for now, take care of yourselves and enjoy the rest of your weekend,
