Mushroom Houses!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good day. We've had rain on and off today, not as cold as yesterday, but certainly not summerlike. Tomorrow though has to be scorching over the whole UK.....for one day, really what's with this weather this year????

Thank you for your kind comments on my last card and for the good wishes that the pain in my hands eases. It has somewhat so that's good, don't know why it flared up, but I guess that's the nature of arthritis.

No card today but another finished page from a colouring book;
and here's the book it's from
I began colouring this on the 24th July and completed it today. I think I'm getting faster lol. I spend a couple of hours a day, in bursts of half and hour at a time, got to get up and stretch and walk around or else the old knees seize up, this getting old sucks.

I've used Prismacolour pencils and a little bit of Stickles , and the background has been done with DI and I added some little dots at the base of the houses. Not sure I like it as I'm not all that great at laying it down, but hey ho, it's done and it is what it is.
I'm very pleased though with the colouring of the little houses. I do love my Prismas and I'm only short of 9 out of the largest 150 set. I've been collecting them over the last few years, but it's getting a bit difficult to get them in open stock here as they come from the USA and because of  Covid the online shops are not managing to get them other in dribs and dabs.

Anyway, that's me for today, time for dinner and Alistair has just phoned to say he's just got off the mountain and will be another hour and a half before he's home, so I'll just have mine. Take care, and keep safe,

Most Wonderful Time!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend, they come around so fast don't they.

Just a very short post today as my hands are quite painful with arthritis today, it doesn't normally bother me all that much, but today it is.
Studio Light diecut sheets made this card, very simple but very effective I think, just added glue and gems, and best of all flat for posting.

Thank you for your kind comments on my seahorse, I always appreciate your visits and comments.
Keep safe and see you soon,

Seahorse!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and that you are having good weather. We have sunshine and heat today, in fact it's too hot for me to sit out, so a bit of colouring in the cool of indoors.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last piece of work.
Here is one I've just completed this morning;
This is from Johanna Basford's Lost Ocean. Johanna is a brilliant illustrator from Aberdeen and her colouring books are outstanding, though very detailed, good for challenging yourself. Anyhoo, I used Black Widow Pencils and Prismacolour Pencils and FC Soft Pastel for the background having first drawn bubbles with a white pencil.
As usual my photo is hopeless, I wish I could do that better, but I', pleased with how it's turned out and it only took a week lol. Now what to do next.
I have quite a few colouring books so spoiled for choice, but I think I will look for something less detailed this time.

Thanks always for your visits, take care of yourselves and have a super day,

Tree Houses!

Hello Everyone,  hoping all is well with you and that your week's going good.

Well, Alistair at long last got up his mountain, he and his friend Derek climbed up Cairngorm on Friday and he is still recovering, but had a great time and it was worth all the struggle to get to the top. His leg were so sore and he was kinda useless for a few days, he is now admitting that he's getting old, bless.

Anyway, I have another completed colouring book page from Maria Trolle's Nightfall book'
I've used Black Widows colour pencils except for the bowl where I used Prismacolours and tried to get a brassy look to it, I think I managed it not too badly.  I decided to colour the background and used  Faber Castell pastels, this is the first time I've tried this, needs a little practice but it's okay. It took me about a week to complete spending a couple of hours a day. Hope you like it.

Thank you for the kind comments on my last post, I always appreciate them.

That's me for tonight, continue to keep yourselves safe, the virus is still very much out there,

Penguins for the CCC!

Hello to you All and I hope all is well with you and that you have a lovely weekend planned, even although it's staying in the craft room and crafting, what could be better than that.....

Time once again for the Christmas Card girls to show off their creation, can hardly believe  two weeks have past by. This time Linda did the choosing and she wan't to see Penguins, or of course there is always the alternative Anything goes.

I struggled with this one as my motivation has disappeared and I had to really push myself to make a card, but I eventually managed two
 This sweet image is from Whimsy stamps and i took three attempts to get it right, and in the end, I realised I used the wrong ink for Copic Markers, so the markers moved some of the ink, but I certainly wasn't going for a fourth try. Distress Oxide as a background and som clear gems. Paper from an old First Edition Christmas pad.

 One of my favourite images from Hobby Art Stamps, Archie and Pals.  Now this time I had the correct ink, but the wrong paper for pencils, I used Copic colouring paper as I must have thought that was the medium I was going to use. The background is all Copic, lots of Star Dust gel for the sparkle and a few gems. Sentiment is from Tonic Studios.
Thank you Linda for the lovely challenge, it was just me who was out of sorts, anyhoo I hope they are okay.

Thank you for the kind comments on my last post.

That's me for now, take care,

Peony Whisper!

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you and you had a good weekend. Aren't the weeks just speeding by at a great rate of naughts!

Anyway, I have a card today for a friend's birthday,
The images is from Aurora Wings and called Peony Whisper and coloured with Prismacolour and FC
Polychromo pencils. White Gel Pen, WoS and pearls, sentiment by Clearly Besotted stamps. I found a lovely piece of card in my stash with butterflies so decided to use it as a background.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card.
Take care of yourselves and keep safe,

Nightfall Colouring Book!

Hello Everyone, the sun is shining, what a rare treat!!

Back sooner than I usually am after posting a card, but I managed to get the first page of the lovely Nightfall Colouring Book by Maria Trolle finished;
It's a beautifully illustrated book with lovely paper with a great tooth for pencils, and at a pinch can take water colour.
I stated with the nameplate, and it took about a week to do with a couple of hours at a time, so not too bad. I've used Prismacolour pencils, and Luminance pencils. Silver gel pen and WoS.
I'm pretty pleased with it and looking forward to starting another page, making that choice is difficult as there are so many beautiful illustrations to choose from.

I'm getting more into colouring books as the need for cards has depleted, and of course I don't do craft fairs and I don't sell, so I don't need so many now, except for Christmas cards. So as long as I've got enough cards in my box I won't be making as many.

I find colouring in far more therapeutic than as I get lost in the colours and of course this is just for me, and it's a great way of experimenting with colours.

Anyhoo, that's me for today, have a good one yourself and thank you for yesterday's comments,

Christmas Hare!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good week so far.
Have you been out and about, maybe at the pub or a theme park, or in Scotland a beer garden???  Thankfully these activities are not necessary for my life to have quality.  I have to wonder about all the crowds out in the streets of Soho.  I am of the opinion that there an awful lot of idiots who have forgotten that there are over 60,000 people who have died many of them needlessly, and now Johnston is blaming the care homes for the deaths in them, truly an evil individual. Rant over!!

Anyhoo, I have a card that I want to enter into;
This is a recycled image, the lovely hare image was too lovely to chuck out. Mounted on to silver mirror card and blue card. Lots of sparkle and so little gems.
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my last post, always appreciate them and look forward to receiving them.
So that's me for today, I'm hoping to get out for a wee walk but it's raining off and on, I feel as if Summer has been cancelled,  anyhoo take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Trees for the CCC!

Hello to You All,  here we are at another Sunday and therefore another Christmas Card Club Challenge. These seems to come around so quickly, and to think we are now in July...it's staggering, anyhoo, it's our love;y Shaz who has chosen today's theme and she would like to see Trees, here are mine;
This card is made from another sheet of die cuts from the Works, sorry about the poor photo. I really like these sheets as there is everything there to create a card, just add glue and any little gems and a bit of a mat.
An upcycled card this time , the card was too lovely to throw out as it's a beautiful tree image. I've mounted it on to a glittered oval and more lovely paper from the Works. I've embellished with Memory Box snowflake border and it;;e gems. JND sentiment, I love the font on this sentiment.
There we are Shaz, I hope they will do, thank you for the challenge, I'm always up for doing cards with trees, I love them.

Well, we had a night of torrential rain, cleared a bit now so we are going to go for a walk, I've not been out for one at all this week which is not good, so I'll push myself to go.

I hope your weekend is going well, hopefully better weather than we are having.
Thank you for you lovely comments  on my last card, as usual you are very kind and I appreciate your time.
That's me for now, keep safe and see you soon,

Buzzing By!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well and looking forward to the weekend, perhaps you've got something special planned for it, well whatever, please keep yourself safe.

We are having awful weather, just not like Summer at all, rain, dull and somewhat cold, I've a big cardie on and even the heating, and it looks like next week has to be poor too.

Well, our travel restrictions have been lifted, so Alistair his hoping to get to the Cairngorms next week, And his friend Derek has book himself in with a barber, so it's all happening. I'm not affected by this, but for me it's the making of wearing face coverings compulsory in shops that I'm pleased about, though I do think it should have have happened right from the start of lockdown, but it's good news now.

I cut Alistair's hair, and I managed not too badly, just took my time, then it happened, I went too far at one part and kinda scalped him a bit. However he was pleased and said nobody would notice as he always wears his hat. He seems to want me to do it from now on, honestly he'll do anything to safe money lol.

Thank you all so much for your comments on my last post. Here is my card for today;
The image is from Woodware and I've added some little bees from Honey Bee  and Dovecraft. Papers are from Dovecraft  and the sentiment is Woodware. I've added WoS for a little sparkle and coloured with pencils.

That's me for now, I'll be back on Sunday with the latest CCC cards, till then enjoy your weekend and  keep safe,
