Birthday Dragon!

Hello Everyone, hoping all is well with you and that you're enjoying your weekend.

Had nothing much planned for today, but decided to go into town as I needed something from M&S, but didn't stop long.  The centre of Inverness depresses me now with so many shops closed and boarded up, tons of charity shops and gambling establishments though, really awful as all we have to depend on is tourism, and I can't think that the visitors would want to see those. We used to have lovely little independent shops, Okay rant over.

I've got a birthday card for our little guy who lives next door, Alejandro who is 2 years old,

This cute dragon is one of LOTV's new digital images and I've coloured him with Castleart colour pencils. Dotted paper in background is also LOTV. Tattered Lace dies.

He is having a party today, and we've had fun watching all the very little ones arriving in their party best, and the odd dummy tit, and noted that is nearly all little girls, ah well, he is going to be a heartbreaker when he grows, you can really see his South American heritage now, one of his Grandmas is from Ecuador, he's the most gorgeous little guy.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last post, always very kind.

Received my letter from the hospital with the results that I was waiting for, and nothing to worry about, phew!, however, as I thought the examination has not addressed the stomach problem, so I will have to mention that when I get the follow up phone call to find if the symptoms have gone. I never had any in the first place....so how would I know! Anyway, it's good to know that there's nothing bad lurking about.

That's me for now, take care of yourselves and see you soon,

Such a wonderful card Kate I bet he loved it! Some of our independent shops have closed but over the last few months a lot of new shops have opened which is good and your right tourists don't want to see it. Glad your results were fine keep safe hugs xx

He is a little cutie Kate, coloured beautifully. Glad tests are OK.
Southport is the same it sounds. Lord Street was famous for its wonderful, independent shops, now all gone, charity shops and cafes now. I don't like going back now. Xx

A super card Kate, a fabulous image - perfect for a youngster.
I'm so pleased that your results showed nothing nasty, like you said though, it doesn't solve the problem!

Such a cute dragon Kate. Sadly Inverness is not alone with boarded up shops and charity shops almost every other business premise. We used to love to go Evesham, which is about an hour away, but that is just the same. We still go because it is lovely along the riverside and Crafter's Companion have their store at The Valley shopping area which is just away from the town centre. So pleased your test results were okay and hope you get your stomach problems resolved too. Hugs Christine xx

We have the same with shops down here Kate, very sad to see how many smaller shops have gone out of business. Your Dragon card is adorable for the little lad, it doesn't seem five minutes since you told us he had been born.

He certainly is a little cutie! I love these latest images from LOTV.
I understand your feelings towards the situation in Inverness, sadly it is the same for many towns all over Britain. So many lovely independent shops - and some many chain stores - are now missing from our high streets never to return. Where I live those buildings are being turned in to housing and converted to flats etc so there is no hope for any return to a once thriving and bustling city that we had.

Your card is gorgeous Kate, my youngest grandson would love it, as do I. I'm very pleased to read that your results from the hospital show nothing too serious and I hope you're feeling all better soon. As for town, I think it's the same story across the whole country. We used to love spending time in York but now there are so many shops that have closed, it just doesn't feel the same. It's depressing really as I can see a time coming soon where all shopping will be online! Take care and have a good week x

A Beautiful card for Alejandro, I can't believe the time has gone so quickly, seems just the other day you were saying you couldn't see the new baby due to Covid and here he is 2!
Sorry I've not been around and can't catch up, but I hope to be around as usual now!

I love the new little dragons and I think you've done a fabulous job with this one - he's gorgeous.
York is very similar now, all charity shops and cafes. We've lost so many larger stores and independent shops. There are more shops boarded up than not - such a shame.

That dragon is so cute and prettily coloured Kate and I love the look of the bokeh background, and then the spotted LOTV paper on the card base which looks great..just perfect for little Alejandro. So glad that nothing nasty came to light from your tests and it must be some relief to know that at least, but hope the stomach problem does get addressed. x
