A Paintbrush a Day!

Hello Everyone, imagine Friday already!! Time is flying by. Beautifully sunny this morning but cold, and yesterday we had a wee flurry of snow for all of a minute, although there is more on the mountains, where it can hopefully stay,

The last couple of weeks I've spent time trying to organise a switch of energy supplier.....what a nightmare. I've been with SSE since I came to Inverness, and never thought of changing, but you'll all know that prices are rocket high, so I thought I would try another supplier, who gave me a fantastic quote. It's a long saga, so the upshot, is that I was told nonsense, and in fact they couldn't take me on as a customer because of the type of meter I have, but the guy I spoke to  carried on and signed me up. When I didn't receive any of the promised paperwork or email, I phone again, different person this time, who couldn't find any me on their system.. I decided to cancel the whole process and got on to my existing supplier to be told that they had been contacted and my energy was in the process of being transferred.....panic.

Anyway, I eventually got it all sorted out, and I remain were I am, with new tariff and £100 added to my account for loyalty.. Lesson learned, don't believe these switching adverts. I had visions of us being left without electricity. I'm too old for that kind of hassle lol.

On to my creation for today,

Another finished page from my Johanna Basford planner. I'm still behind with the pages, I'm still in January.  Anyhoo, would you believe that all this colouring is done with crayons, Bambino Clay Crayons in fact. Johanna, showing them on one of her video and saying how wonderful they are, and they are, not at all like the usual children's wax crayons, and they blend so well, and cost around £7.

As usual I've added Stickles for sparkle and soft pastels for the background.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card.

That's me for today, I hope you are looking forward to the weekend, and be able to doing something good, within the scope we all have just now, take care everyone and stay safe,

Hi Kate this page is stunning. It must be so therapeutic to colour those pages. We had terrible trouble switching energy providers some time ago there were disputes and all sorts. I really wouldn't attempt it again. Well done on getting a discount. Take care. Hugs Jackie

A beautiful page Kate and great colouring, I've not heard of Bambino Clay Crayons but you've certainly done a great job with them.
We always try to get a reduction with our current suppliers first, it usually works - we've also done it with car insurance and our tv/broadband supplier.

This is just stunning. I love the soft background and the colouring is exemplary. You have created beauty shading especially on the lilica colours and the blue.

Time is certainly flying by Kate, Friday already and March already! Wow! Sorry you had a rotten experience with energy suppliers. They all tell a pack of lies and their adverts are pure rubbish. Your journal page is lovely. Unbelievable that you used crayons! Take care. Christine xx

I love your chatty posts. It does annoy more with companies though when they don’t just offer you a cheaper quote without you having to contact them. This happened last year with the car insurance. It went up a lot, Graham rang them and they said if we start a new policy we can do it cheaper! So we did, Your page is so pretty, they must be lovely crayons.

WOW! Kate, crayons? What a beautiful page and fabulous colouring.
I also had a similar experience to you a couple of years ago and in the end saved £20 a year, I have decided that it's not enough to see me going through hassle either! Good for you in getting the loyalty money too.

It's another beautifully coloured page Kate, pretty bright and fresh colours.

We change gas suppliers last year, being in the middle of nowhere we are no on mains so have an underground Calor tank. I was all set up ready for it being a nightmare and to my surprise it was really smooth, maybe I was just lucky.

What a beautiful page Kate and great coloring. Your power company story is similar to the hated Internet cable companies here in states. They tell you a great story but the prices don't save you money.

Hi Kate,
I have had similar probs in the past with my electricity suppler.
I have 4 different meters attched to mine as I am all electric, one is a day, one evening and weekends, one night and storage heating, so nobody wants to deal with that execpt the big companies that charge more.
We did mange to switch though eventually to an all green suppler that was cheaper and I am always well in credit with them so it was a good move.

I love your colouring on your planner is excellent and such pretty colours too.
Looks so stunning.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

"Bambino" is an Italian word for kid, so I think these crayons might being an italian brand. However, you painted so well your page, such lovely and happy work.

Lovely coloured page, I am sure you will catch up
I agree it pays sometimes to ring your supplier and haggle, I did that with BT, and I got a good deal which was cheaper than the one we were on, and we thought that had been a good deal. Of course prices go up but it’s worth doing a haggle you never know what you might get.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog
Have a good week

Sounds like we had a similar day - I was tryiong to cancel Meg's telephone contract. It was ridiculously complicated, because we were just terminating it and not passing the contract over to another company. I bet a bit of therapeutic watercolouring was just what was needed after that! It is so beautiful!

What a beautiful coloring page. Never heard of the crayons, but your work with them is stunning.

Glad you got the electric sorted, never a good time to be without electricity.

What a wonderfully coloured page from your JB Planner Kate and these crayons have worked brilliantly. I have ever heard of clay crayons but the colours are beautiful. So pleased you managed to sort out your electricity switch and stayed with SSE with an improved tariff and some money back. I suppose at least the trying to switch got you some improved rates which wouldn't otherwise have happened but know what you mean about not needing the hassle. All's well that ends well though. x
