All the Flowers!

 Hello there, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and that the new week has got off to a good start. For some of you in the UK you have a little bit more freedom, being able to see more people which for many must be wonderful.

Our daily Covid briefings seem to have stopped because our politicians are out campaigning for the Scottish elections on May 6th. so I'm not all that sure when our more relaxed restrictions start, except for hairdressers opening, I've got that marked in big red letters in my diary, it's 5th April and I've got an appointment on the 8th. I did take the scissors to it the other month with disastrous results lol.

Just before Christmas I got my very long hair cut, I'd been growing it for 7 years and it was was down my back, and I was fed up with just having to put it up in some kind of way, so I decided I was going all Judy Dench, and I love it. But the only thing with having your hair short is you have to keep getting it cut to maintain the style, which also mean lots of money lol. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it cut again.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my Christmas card, I do appreciate your continued visits,

I've completed another page in my planer;

   I've used a combination of Bambino Clay crayons and Derwent Coloursoft pencils, with a few bits of gel sparkly gel pen here and there, finished off with a lovely quote from Card-io stamps. I actually loved colouring this page, some of the pages are so detailed that I begin to loose concentration, so I've decided to leave those alone, after all colouring is supposed to be a stress buster 😄

So that's me for now, remember to continue to keep yourselves safe, the virus is still out there,

Trees, either Inside or Outside for the CCC!

 Hello there, I hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying your weekend, whatever you have planned.

We had a lovely walk around Ardisier this morning, it's a little village along the Moray coast, and the sun was out, but very breezy, and not too warm. Mind you, the weather wasn't deterring swimmers, a whole bunch of them....I don't know what the collective noun would be, were all kitted out in their wet suits ready to take the plunge. Now I would have said the see was too choppy, but when I mentioned that I was told that it was nothing to them. A real bunch of hardy folk, I bet it was exhilarating though.

Anyway, I'm here with this fortnight's Christmas Card Club creations, and this time it's my turn to choose the theme, and it's cards with trees on them, either inside trees or outside.

Here's what I've come up with;

All of the images I've used are by Chocolate Baroque, and I've embossed them in Silver WOW EP. I used some lovely teal coloured embossed paper that Mr's A sent me when I won a wee competition around Christmas time, and also the Novo Drops on one of the cards. Sentiments are from various sets. As usual I've put clear gems to finish. Sadly the photos aren't brilliant, sorry about that.

Do make sure you have a look at the other cards the girls make, they are a;ways fabulous.

That's me for now, thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card.

I'm going to schedule this post for tomorrow Sunday for when the CCC post goes live. Take care everyone ,

With Sympathy!

 Hello Everyone, I hope are feeling good and your week is going well.

Sunny and blustery wind with squally showers for us today, I hate the wind so going for a walk is for me out of the question. Alistair and his chum Bill are away walking over on the Black Isle, gives me a bit of piece, as we are fighting for craftroom space, as he has started another story and his lap top is in there, and of course it's more important he gets his ideas down while he still remembers them, lol.

Anyway, thank you for the lovely comment on my last card, you are always kind in your words and encouragement.

I have one of those cards we hate to make,

This is a card I made a while ago, I don't post these cards very often. Stamping Up dies and stencil for this one, it's the First Frost set, that was out a couple of years ago. The sentiment is an old one I've had for ages. I've added WOS and some tiny gold pearls.

So just a short post today, Whilst Alistair is away I get a chance to do some house work,  and maybe a bit of colouring.

I'll be back at the weekend with my CCC creations, till then, keep safe,

Birthday Wishes!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and have had a good day, we had sunshine and really quite warm, so Alistair too the chance of the good weather to paint his shed, got it all done too, another job to tick of his to do list. I've not been so industrious, I just did some colouring, in between pottering about lol.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciated the time you take to visit and leave a word or two.

My card today was a commissioned card for someone who likes rusty colours and anything to do with the sea,

]

 This is a Stamp by Chocolate Baroque and coloured with Distressed Inks and Prismacolour pencils. The paper is from Crafty Individuals. Stickles, shells and yellow sticky on shapes. Sentiment is one from a Creative Stamping magazine. Although this was for a lady's 60th I decided onto to put the number on it as not always people like to be reminded of their age.

Alistair got his 2nd jab yesterday with no bother at all, I've got another month to wait, unless there is a hiccup with getting the vaccine as seems to be happening at the moment, so it may be longer, just have to wait and see.

So, that's me for now, enjoy your evening and keep safe,

Vintage Santa!

 Hi there, how are things going? Another new week begins, I hope it will be a good one for everyone. I believe that Wales is opening up more this week, that's good but still keep safe if Wales is your neck of the wood.

Our Nicola will give us an update tomorrow about any further relaxing of the rule, and today more children went back to school, so we are moving, although slowly.

I've a card today that I want to enter into;

http://www.didosdesigns.com/2021/03/vintage-fezziwigs.html

This is a stamp by Imagination Crafts, which I've had for a number of years and not even opened...shocking!! Anyway I thing it was a good image for Hazel's challenge of vintage. I stamped the image our then cut it with a Carnation Crafts oval die, inked the edges in red. I rummaged around and found this piece of paper and quite liked it, them put all that on to silver mirror card. Gems and Stickles for sparkle.

I was really lucky to have my card chosen in Hazel's last challenge, and I also won the Chocolate Baroque comment on their DT blog. I've not won anything for ages, so chuffed to bits.

Well, Alistair has said he would make tonight's dinner, but so far he's stuck in my craft room listening to a You Tube video, with no signs of putting the oven on, I think he forgets the time lol, I might go and give him a nudge.

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday, Damian popped over and brought a beautiful orchid, so lucky, but he couldn't get a Mother's Day card, all sold out, he did buy one with a big heart on it, it was either that he said or ask me to make one lol.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card and the one before which was for Alessandro, his mum was delighted with it. It's his birthday today, and we went out to see him when he was brought back from seeing his Gran, which apparently didn't go well as  just cried, we were more lucky as he was all smiles for us😊

So that's me for now, keep safe and see you soon,

Christmas Flowers and Foliage for the CCC!

 Hello to You All, hoping you are well and having a good weekend.

Another two weeks have flown past and it's time for the Christmas Card Club ladies to show their latest cards and this time it's Zoe who has chosen the theme of Christmas Flowers and Foliage, with Anything Goes if you can't manage the theme. Here is what I managed this time;

This is a Chocolate Baroque stamp I've had for a while, and I thought it covered both Flower and Foliage. I've coloured with Canran d'Ache Pablo pencils ( I treated myself to a set as I had been after them for some time, and they are wonderful to use),  gold gel pen and Stickles. Gold mirror card and  some poinsettia paper that's been in my box for ages, cant' remember the brand. The sentiment is from a Creative Stamping magazine, and to finish off I've added gems.

Thank you Zoe, I enjoyed the challenge, and it's always good to use stash that's been in the cupboard a while.

Just back from a wee walk, but had to shorten its as I seemed to put my knee out and Alistair has done something to his hip, so both of us limping along wasn't good,

Alistair had a hip replacement about ten years ago, but he is starting to feel that something is not quite right with it, he may need it resurfaced, but I don't expect that will happen any time soon, with the current situation.  I was hearing on our local news that another ward in our local hospital is closed with Covid patients, So no one want's to be in hospital at this time in the great scheme of things if they can help it.

Righty oh, that's me for now, enjoy your day, keep safe and I'll see you all soon,

Hi Little Guy!

 Hello to You All, I hope all is well with you and your day's been good.

Not much news tonight, had a quiet weekend, time to catch up on things in the home, like you do, and a bit of colouring, the weather wasn't all that great for being out and about, except for necessary shopping.

Anyhoo, my card today is for our lovely little neighbour Alessandro who will be 1yr. old next week, his first year has just flown by, even his Mum and Dad feel that.

This is a LOTV digi image and I thought it just suited him perfectly as I only ever see him in his pram leaning out to  give a big smile.

I've used Crayola coloured pencils and I found some First Edition papers and a wee charm for the corner. A few little Altenew grey embellishments, I don't know what you call them as they are not pearls or gems lol.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my coloured page, I do appreciate them.

That's me for now, so take care everyone and see you soon,

A Paintbrush a Day!

Hello Everyone, imagine Friday already!! Time is flying by. Beautifully sunny this morning but cold, and yesterday we had a wee flurry of snow for all of a minute, although there is more on the mountains, where it can hopefully stay,

The last couple of weeks I've spent time trying to organise a switch of energy supplier.....what a nightmare. I've been with SSE since I came to Inverness, and never thought of changing, but you'll all know that prices are rocket high, so I thought I would try another supplier, who gave me a fantastic quote. It's a long saga, so the upshot, is that I was told nonsense, and in fact they couldn't take me on as a customer because of the type of meter I have, but the guy I spoke to  carried on and signed me up. When I didn't receive any of the promised paperwork or email, I phone again, different person this time, who couldn't find any me on their system.. I decided to cancel the whole process and got on to my existing supplier to be told that they had been contacted and my energy was in the process of being transferred.....panic.

Anyway, I eventually got it all sorted out, and I remain were I am, with new tariff and £100 added to my account for loyalty.. Lesson learned, don't believe these switching adverts. I had visions of us being left without electricity. I'm too old for that kind of hassle lol.

On to my creation for today,

 Another finished page from my Johanna Basford planner. I'm still behind with the pages, I'm still in January.  Anyhoo, would you believe that all this colouring is done with crayons, Bambino Clay Crayons in fact. Johanna, showing them on one of her video and saying how wonderful they are, and they are, not at all like the usual children's wax crayons, and they blend so well, and cost around £7.

As usual I've added Stickles for sparkle and soft pastels for the background.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card.

That's me for today, I hope you are looking forward to the weekend, and be able to doing something good, within the scope we all have just now, take care everyone and stay safe,

On Your Birthday!

 Hello there, what a dreich day here in Inverness, such a change after the last few days, it's much colder too. Anyway, how are you all doing, still coping with with your lockdown? I hope you are. We are still doing fine, Alistair is so looking forward to getting up a mountain, I'm looking forward to him getting up a mountain too lol 😀 but that could still be a while yet.

I've a birthday card to show today;

This little scene uses stamps from a Creative Stamping magazine and coloured with watercolour. I've added a little sparkle with Stickles to the water and the weeping willow. Matted on to black and teal coloured card and the background paper is from a pad bought from The Works. A few pearls to finish.

It's just a short post today, but before I go, just want to thank everyone who commented on my lat card , you are always very kind, and I love to read them.

Stay safe, and see you soon,
