Snowman/Snowmen for the CCC!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying the weekend. It's been a wild day here in Inverness, high winds and rain, just the kind of day to stay indoors.

We have been giving the bathroom a freshen up, well Alistair has, I've been   the cleaner uper, but he says never again, he's getting too old, all the up and down the ladders and bending was getting to him. Because he is fit and still walks up mountains I forget he will be 75 in a couple of weeks, so yes next time we will get a decorator in. Good job it's a small room, but it's looking good now.

So, it's the fortnightly Christmas Card Club Challenge... they come around far too quickly, and this time it's our lovely Margaret who has chosen the theme of Snowman/Snowmen, or of course if you can't manage the theme there is always Anything Goes.  Well I love Snowmen so this was easy for me and made three cards;

This wee cutie is a LOTV digital stamp and coloured with Prismacolours and lots of Star Dust Stickles. Sentiment is a very old LOTV stamp set, finished off with some little gems.

Another Digital from LOTV and coloured again with Prismacolour pencils, mounted on to black glitter card and then more LOTV paper from ages ago. I used DI in the background and added some gems. The sentiment is from Creative Stamping magazine. Sorry about the brightness of the photo, I think I've over done it.

Once again the phot is pants. I've made this card for my friend Fiona, I make her The Snowman card every year as she love him.....well who doesn't. This is from a very old Crafters Companion/Hunkydory  set, I can't think now how old it is, but it's lasting a good old while. I've made the base card from acetate with snow splatters, and added the snowman image inside it. A piece or purple glitter card along the bottom edge with the sentiment. I photographed it on black card which was a mistake as it makes the card look black but it isn't, three little gems in the bottom corner.

Thank you Margaret for the lovely challenge, I did enjoy it.

Thank you too for all the lovely comments on my last card, I do appreciate your visits and encouraging comments.

So that's me for now, I'll be scheduling my post for tomorrow, Sunday when the CCC goes live. Take care of yourselves and keep safe,

I'm pleased to read that you're bathroom has been decorated. Theres always a sense of relief when it's all done and everything is put back in it's place. Your Chrismas cards are lovely Kate. At this rate, you'll have enough for next year as well :) Take care and have a good week x

Sounds like a job well done Kate, but a little tough. I confess we have decided to get someone in to revamp the bathroom, but in our defence the whole thing is being done. Love the cards all very jolly and who doesn't like the Raymond Briggs Snowman. Zoe x

Hello my lovely friend. Fabulous selection here today. Love Snowmen but Love Santa's too. Looks as if you had great fun creating these ones. my dats of decorating are well past too, but luckily Carolyn my youngest daughter takes after her Dad and does all these things. Annies husband Ronnie took on the garden this year so I count myself lucky to have my family when things need done. Stay Safe and we;ll speak soon. Hugs Rita xxx

All super snowmen all so cute. My photos are always a hit and miss. My camera works one day doesn't on another. I actually have two digital cameras both the same model which I toggle between but they both give the same results. Hope you are going to be ok with the new restrictions that have come into play. We are on tier2 here in Hampshire but Oxford is now giving cause for concern and that is only a County away. hugs Mrs A.

These are all such beautiful cards Kate. Loving the one with the acetate but then love the anything with snowmen as well :) fabulous inspiration. You have been busy with the bathroom. Pleased to hear its all finished. Started decorating here too. I am hoping to reach everything with one of them one step things being the giant I am and the low ceilngs. Not keen on ladders either they play havoc with the shins. You did a grand job Alistair!!! :) Take care, sending hugs, Flo xx

Hiya Kate, yes! pretty wild last night and today, definitely stay in lockdown weather. My hubby is 77 and age is definitely showing now for both of us, things take longer than they used too and I say to him doesn't matter if it takes 2 or 3 days for him to finish something he would have finished in a day, a few years ago.

Your snowmen cards are a delight, love the simple first one, so cute with the lovely blues. Your second is lovely, I love how you coloured the birds as Robins. Your third I can see the snow is 3D'd and layered, a great idea and a beautiful result.
Keep safe

What lovely snowman Christmas cards. All are beautiful .. .. but the middle one with the snowman feeding the birds really caught my eye.

We have just started stripping the wallpaper off in our kitchen .. .. so you are finishing a room as we are starting.

A Gorgeous collection of snowman cards, Kate! All so beautiful! We worked out a great system when helping to decorate at our daughters house. I did the bottom 5 ft, steve did the next bit as far as he could reach and Meg did the bit up and down ladders and in fiddly corners. Hoping we can work the same system for us in the future

Fabulous snowman cards. Not looking forward to winter snow. Fresh fallen snows looks so pretty, but it is so messy when it starts to melt. It always looks beautiful on cards.

Three fun and pretty snowman cards Kate and the blue stitched circular layers with the cute snowman wearing blue is right up my street as I love blue for Christmas, and then the pretty holly and berries dp as a background to this sweet snowman feeding the birds, and beautifully coloured too, and then lastly The Snowman, always a favourite, and perfect for your friend. I have sung Walking in the Air at a couple of different functions and love the song, everyone always knows it. No singing this Christmas though sadly. x
