Hello Everyone and hoping this finds you well.
Well it's the weekend again, don't they come come around so quickly and almost into another month too.
We are very cold today a thick frost on the car when we went out to go for the shopping and even now the cars in the street are still frosted up. Home now and staying put.
I have a card today that's for Alistair's brother Jim, who is now in the Hospice. He had to go into hospital a few weeks ago as he was falling. It turned out that a new doctor had somehow not read his notes and gave him a double dose of sleeping tablets. Jim's not all that good at knowing what medication he's actually on, but the nurse spotted the mistake when she visited. When in hospital he asked if he could be taken into the Hospice and that's where he is now, I think he feel so much safer now and he will be looked after. His daughter is at work during the day so he was on his own quite a bit. It's the same Hospice that my mum was in and the staff were wonderful, nothing too much trouble even for grieving daughters, so he's in the best place.
Just kept it fairly plain, inkylicious stamp embossed in Wow white powder with DI in the background using the resist technique. A freebie sentiment and some clear sequins to finish.
I have not been able to go down to see him since summer, just keeping in touch by phone, but he is sounding much frailer. Alistair is going for a visit next Tuesday.
Our neighbour Donnie who usually looks after Teallach when we are away, has been diagnosed with cancer too, and is looking very poorly, but is trying to get himself stronger for an surgery on his lung, so Alistair is away out a wee walk with him. We just seem to have so many unwell friends just now, it's just so sad.
Although, it's been the leg pain that's prevented me from spending 7 hours travelling to Glasgow, not having someone to look after Teallach is now something else to sort out. Will have to look for a cattery near us, but don't know how the wee puss will cope as he is an awfully skittish cat and of course spent sometime in the rescue centre before he came to us. Anyway, I'm sure something will work out.
Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card, always appreciated your visits.
I'll love you and leave you and hope you have a lovely weekend,

Hi Kate, not such good news for you at present. Your BIL is in the best place.
You have made a lovely card for him. Xxxx
So so sorry for the bad notices, Kate! Hope that Alistair's brother will feel good at the Hospice and that your neighbour don't have to suffer too much. Hope that the op will help him.
Sweet card, love the embossed trees and the background!
Hugs
Sorry to read that Jim is feeling less able and in the hospice, sounds as thhough he is in the right place and that you have faith in it. Great card Kate, reflects the frost we had here this morning too.
A beautiful!CA S card. I’m sure Jim will appreciate it. So many celebs passing too. Was shocked to hear of Gary Rhodes at just 59yrs and then Clive James too. The Doc has had to take extra Gout pills as his knees have been playing up. He doesn’t think it’s a gout attack just where he has been cycling and doing too much walking. I do tell him to ease up,but it goes in one ear and straight out of the other!!
Hugs Mrs A.
Oh! my goodness I have to agree with Viv who says how etherial your card is, it's so beautiful, a wonderful result and will bring him peace knowing you're thinking of him I'm sure.
An awful time for you all Kate, Christmas usually brings things like illness to the fore doesn't it? So sad for everyone involved. I hope you and hubby keep in good health especially in this cold weather we are expecting, more for you up North! Take care.

Such a beautiful card for Jim. I hope he feels more comfortable and safer in the hospice. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Hugs Flo xx
A beautiful card Kate, a fabulous background - I'm sure it will be much appreciated.
It sounds like Jim is in the best place, especially if he was feeling unsafe on his own - my Father-in-law was in a hospice and they are wonderful, so kind and thoughtful, they take care of everyone.
It was frosty down here this morning, it is quite nice after all of the rain we have had lately.

Sorry that your brother in law is failing. But better he is under the care of hospice 24/7 as you would hate to think of him falling and laying there unable to get help. Such a pretty card, love the sponged background. Take care, Kate, thinking of you.........
Hugs

Sorry for not getting here sooner but I've had computer troubles, thankfully all sorted now though. Also sorry to see that youhave been going through some sad times, hopefully Jim feels more at ease in the Hospice and you can rest easy that he is being looked after well. I'm sure he will love his card.

This is so pretty and serene, hugs Pops x
I'm sorry to read about Jim Kate but as you say, he's in the best place. It's such a good job that the nurse spotted the mistake! I'm also sorry to hear about your neighbour too. It must be so difficult for you to stay positive at the moment and my heart goes out to you. Your card is beautiful and I like that you've kept it quite simple. I've used those trees so many times myself and I never tire of them. Look after yourself Kate, much love, Sandra x
Sorry to hear how Alistair's brother has deteriorated but he is, I'm sure, being well looked after in the hospice. Your trees with the pretty blended background are just right for this card for Jim and I'm sure he will have appreciated it. x
Such a sad time for you both and difficult for Alistair to go so far for a visit but even if he wasn't very responsive he will have appreciated Alistair being there. I love your Snowman card and an iconic image and such a pretty shape too. I think Christmas would not be the same without seeing the The Snowman on the tv. x
so pretty.
xx Karen
