Adorable Alice!

Good Evening, Blogging Friends, I hope all is well with you and that you have all had a good weekend.

Thank you for visiting me and leaving such lovely comments yesterday.

I'm a bit late tonight, I was trying to get this card  and not getting very far with the Spellbinder border that I wanted to use. I  know many of you use these dies with huge success but I find I am unable to cut them no matter whether I use wax paper and a silicon cloth.  I have a Big Shot so I'm thinking that perhaps It's not heavy enough or something.  Of course it may be just a bad workman blaming the tools.  So I changed my mind and used other dies instead. Here is my card;
I've used another Vintage Adorable digi stamps, Alice, and coloured with pastels and soft colour pencils.  The papers are from LOTV, Promises, and co-ordination blue card which I've distressed around the edges. Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl, Crafty Individuals Victorian Corner die and Memory Box Corner Bow.  Liquid Pearls around the image in Lilac, and lilac gems. A sprinkling of Star Dust to finish.

I didn't add a sentiment as I couldn't find a space to put one, but it means I can use the card for whatever I need one for. I didn't add any flowers either as I thought I would let the lovely flowered paper shine through.

That's me for tonight, Kate x

Really lovely card Kate. I am sick and tired of Spellbinders Dies - trying to get them to cut is a nightmare - so many times I just give up in despair with yet more card destroyed.

Good very Snowy Morning Kate,
Your card is gorgeous and certainly does not need any further embellishment.
I sometimes feel well pop on a sentiment because we feel we have to.
If someone gets a beautiful card like that on their Birthday will they not know it is a Birthday Card????
Stay safe stay warm

I got rid of most of my spellbinders I find I prefer the other dies they seem to cut much easier may have to invest in some flower dies though

Hi Kate, i seem to be able to use the Spellbinder die OK, I have the Grand Calibur, and if I use waxed paper they come out. You may have to use a shim, a couple of sheets of card with your Big Shot. Love your card, image is great ass your die cuts.

Hi Kate, great card, loving these new Adorables.
As Wilma said use a shim (extra piece of card) or move your die around on the plates. I sometimes have to put dies through more than once especially if more detailed. I find using the dies near to the edge of the rollers works better than central on the plates.
If your plates are worn they don't tend to work aswell too.
Play around with it but don't force too big a sandwich through your machine as it can break it.
Trial and error I'm afraid but the more you play the more you get used to the dies and your machine.
Hope that helps, crafty hugs Erika.

Lovely card Kate, I like how you've put the pearls round the edge of the circle.
I haven't had any problems with Spellbinders dies but I had a few challenging Cheery Lynn ones and I found that the Grand Calibur cut better than the Big Shot personally with those x
