Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well and getting settled into the New Year.
I'm still full of this cold bug, I just can't seem to shift it, some days it feels like my cough is going, the next it's as bad as ever, and I've got no energy what's so ever. Anyway, I'm keeping indoors as much as possible hoping that staying in a constant temperature. I'm missing my aqua classes, but the thought of getting into cold water is just too much.
So, I'm here with the type of card we all hate to make. This card was for our lovely friend Jean, whose Husband died, in early December. Those of you who have followed me for some time will have heard of our friend Peter who was a fabulous artist. A few years ago he had cancer of the tongue and had to have extensive radiotherapy, which wrecked his lymph nodes, making it difficult for him to eat. However, he struggled on and made the best of things and got back to painting again, a couple of months ago he had a stroke, we thought he was getting over that, but by this time he had to be fed by a tube, which took around 15 hours to do. For someone who loved good food and wine, travel and socialising this was so sad, there was very little quality of life for Peter. It was so sad to lose him, but a blessing for him, and Jean who nursed him so well.
We have some wonderful memories of being with both of them, and we have some of his amazing artwork which is treasured.
Stamping up dandelions with some from Lavinia Stamps, sentiment is from Lavinia. Warm Breeze Claire ink.
Well that's me for now, have a good evening and see you back in Blogland soon, take care of yourselves,

Jean will surely love your beautiful card Kate made with love….xxxx
This current fly strain is a real nasie, it's five weeks since I went down with it and like you still feel it's lurking.
Your card is beautiful for purpose and I just might follow your design as I have one to make today. We are only a few houses in our little hamlet and although houses are fields apart one one dies it reverberates round us all.

It's so sad to see someone so full of life going downhill, and then succumbing. Your gorgeous card will be appreciated a lot I'm sure Kate.
I hope you are feeling a lot better by today.

I am so sad to hear of your friends Peter and Jean. I am sure she will find your card very comforting. That is a wonderful image and perfect for a sympathy card. I pray you can feel better yourself too so you can get back to your aqua classes.
Such a sad reason to have to make a card of this type but your card is lovely nonetheless. The hubby's cousin just lost her husband. He had advanced alzheimer's but also cancer that had spread. Hugs Mrs A.
Beautiful card, for such a sad occasion, I am sorry to hear of this sad death some people go though so much, I have never heard of cancer in the tongue, and for someone who liked their food that must have been awful.
I have the same cold/flu, like you it feels as if it is going and then the next day its back. I hope you soon get rid of it, I am too staying in as its very cold here, although I expect it colder where you are.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. This card is absolutely beautiful. Jean will love it.
So pretty! I love the colors!
