Floral Rabbit!

Hello Everyone, how's your weekend going? I do hope you are enjoying it and that your weather is good.

We were going to go for a drive, but decided not, so I got on with bread and soup making. I used to make our bread, but for some reason, I decided that I wasn't going to any more and threw out my bread making books, I also had a machine and got rid of that too, Who's a numpty!!, of course I decided that I wanted to start again as I really find bread in this country so tasteless. So now I'm looking for some really good bread recipes/books. I even made a cheese loaf for Damian and Moreen who said it would go well with their pasta for dinner.

So, I've been busy finishing off a page in a Hanna Karlzon book;

I though this was a lovely illustration, and I don't colour animals all that often so I thought I'd give this one a go. I've used Prismacolours, soft pastels for the background and some Stickles.

Thank you for all the kind comments you leave about my projects, I do appreciate your visits.

Well, it's feet up now, a cuppa in a wee while, and a bit of TV.

Enjoy your evening and see you soon,

You design is gorgeous Kate, so pretty. Making bread and soup are two of my favourite things to do. I have a bread maker and love trying out different recipes in it. I made a lovely Stollen at Christmas on the dough setting. I can understand why you got rid of yours as it can go in fits and starts. I’ve just started wine making again after a twenty year gap. Boy am I sorry that I didn’t keep my brewing kit as I’ve had to start again, so I know how you feel. Take care and stay happy x

Beautiful page, that hare looks stunning and such lovely colouring!
I always make 7 cereal breads with my machine and then keep them in the freezer. Love handmade bread.

You are right Kate, shop bread on the hole is tasteless and there's nothing to beat homemade bread and soup. Like you I threw out my old breadmaker years ago but invested in another during the first lockdown.

You have coloured the Spring Rabbit beautifully.

Love bread making myself it’s the kneading I find so de stressing…and then you get to eat a loaf that tastes of something…mind you I always give myself indigestion by eating my bread hot out of the oven!….take care xxxx

This is a gorgeous page Kate, your colouring is fabulous.
We make all of our own bread, I agree with you, most shop bought bread is tasteless, unless that it you pay a small fortune!

I think lockdown has got everyone making bread, something I have nit tried, when we git married my hubby had a bread machine from his previous marriage (she died) and then gave it away, I know there are recipes without using a bread machine. Your cheese bread sounded so nice, I hope they enjoyed it.
Your page is beautiful love the colours you used.
This morning was lovely and just like yesterday the clouds are bubbling up so it looks like we will get some rain, my garden had not seen rain the whole of April until last Thursday, I think the plants really enjoyed the rain. Tomorrow looks bad with rain and wind, just a normal bank holiday Monday.
Have a good week

Hi Kate,
oh this is such a gorgeous image or page you have coloured perfectly too.
Love all the flowers and he looks so amazed by it all don't you think.
I too threw out my Bread Maker and wish I hadn't know.
Your Cheese loaf sound lovely can't beat homemade bread.
The only one I find quite near to homemade is Waitrose un sliced bread.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

OH! my goodness Kate, your colouring and the image are just so very beautiful. Would you frame this? it deserves to be.
I threw all my bread making stuff out too! A few years ago, they were taking up too much space? Aren't we silly, My mother always said you don't know when it will come in handy? I should have listened to her hahaha.

What a gorgeous rabbit, so colourful. I had a bread maker but we liked the homemade bread so much we ate it too quickly. Freshly baked crust was so tasty.

Ahhh what a pretty page, I love the colour scheme you have gone for. My Mum makes bread. I love nipping round just in time for it coming out of the machine!! Tastes so much nicer than shop bought!! H xx

Hi Kate

What a lovely image you have coloured .. .. I find your pencil colouring so lovely and soft compared to alcohol pens.

We used to have a bread maker but the machine ceased up and decided to stop working. We considered buying another but I tried a batch of bread rolls, mixing by hand, and that is now what I have stuck with. There are always a supply of them in our freezer (and our Son's too LOL!!). Some with poppy seeds on top, others mixed grains and the naughty ones have cheese on top!! I wouldn't go back to a machine now.

Last month I tried mixing the dough in my Kenwood machine .. .. that has now speeded things up a little. I just love the smell of making bread. It makes everywhere smell so lovely and homely.

Hope you are having a good week.

Love Jules xx

Soda bread seems very popular for tasty loaves and I have a friend who recently shared a foccacia recipe on instagram . The colouring is gorgeous Kate and very therapeutic I always think. Hope you you get the bread you want soon. Hugs Zoe x

OH my goodness, Kate! This is absolutely breathtaking! I love your bunny and how lovely is your coloring - so soft and sweet! Isn't it wonderful to sit back and relax and watch tv while coloring away, or chatting with our loved ones! I'm amazed how much I get done when chatting! Big hugs!

More stunning colouring Kate! Nothing beats homemade bread and soup. I have a book called 'All you knead is bread' that is pretty good, although I've only made a few things from it so far. I got rid of my bread maker, although I did use it fairly regularly. I now make 'rustic loaves' just on a baking sheet or soda bread if I need a quick one. I do fancy trying sourdough, but haven't attempted the starter yet.

This hare is so beautifully coloured Kate and I love the softly blended background which suits it perfectly. I do make my own soup and homemade bread does take time by hand but the results are well worth the time and effort. I had a breadmaker but it was taking up room I needed for something elso so I got rid of it, but I will probably regret doing so. x
