Little Robin Redbrest of the CCC!

Hello Everyone, another weekend and time once again for the Christmas Card Club to show their cards. This time around it's Margaret otherwise known as Duchess who has chosen the theme of Robins . Now who doesn't like to see a Robin on a Christmas card???  So I managed three this time, and if I'd had more time I think I could have made more, lol.

First one up is an upcycled card which was too lovely to throw out;

I love the watercolour look of this little Robin and the paint splashes around him. I've added some glitter and gems. Sentiment is from a Creative Stamping magazine.

Next up;

An image from Hobby Art, I just love this Robin image, I've coloured with Copics, which is not too good, I seem to have forgotten how to colour with them, and paper from an old paper pad, some snow and a few gems, sentiment from a Tonic stamp set.

Finely;

Now this is the one I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The image is from Imagination Crafts, which I've had for years, but never opened. I don't think it was meant to be a Robin, however I gave the bird a red breast, hey presto it's a Robin, and to match his red breast I matted it on to red card and added a red gem. Sentiment is from Tonic. I've added a wee bit of glitter on some of the leaves.

So Margaret, thank you so much for this challenge, I did enjoy it.

So, for days we have had snow throughout the day, off and on, and it's been much colder too. Today's snow has been like little polystyrene balls. Thankfully at low level it's not lying.

I hope you are all well and getting your jabs okay, I'm still waiting for my second one, 19th April, so that will be the full 3 month since my first one.

We are having a treat tonight, Alistair a fish supper and it's a jumbo sausage supper for me and to hell with the diabetes, you have to live sometimes.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my last post, I do appreciate them.

So just going to schedule this for tomorrow, Sunday when the CCC goes live.

Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend

I just love Robins Kate and I love your cards too. My Hubby and I go out walking most mornings and we have one particular walk where we must see at least half a dozen robins every time we take that route. I used to think that we only saw them around Christmas but we've seen so many of them lately, not that I'm complaining as I love them. I love that you've upcycled your card as it's beautiful, the colours are fabulous. Take care and enjoy the week ahead xx

Beautiful Robin cards Kate. We have many American Robins making nests somewhere in the yard because they are always carrying little twigs with them.

I love all 3 cards. the first is so cute with the rainbow colours. I am using something I cut out too. I hope to get it done and up by tomorrow. I think the 2nd one is coloured quite nicely and gives a warm touch to the scene. I do love the 3rd one which is very artistic looking.

Wow! Kate, three fabulous Christmas cards, love all three. The colours of the robin on the first card are beautiful and I love the paint splashes around him. The robin sitting on the spade on the second card is just so typical of robins, we have that happen quite a lot, I guess they're waiting for us to dig up a worm or too lol ! The third image I recognise as an Imagination Craft's stamp. I have this one too and I love the way you have kept to two colours, red and black, which focuses the eyes on the Robin and his red breast. We used to have a Robin who would sit on my hand and eat tiny pieces of nut, look me in the eye as if to say thank you and then he'd fly off, so lovely.
love & Hugs Jennifer xx.

All of your Robins are lovely. I love the first little one and the colors.

Wow, three months between shots, mine was 28 days and my husbands was 14 days depending on which vaccine you got. I am just VERY grateful that we are both fully vaccinated now, appointments were very hard to get in the beginning.

Absolutely beautiful cards Kate, Robins just have an edge with Christmas card methinks and I love your colouring and designs. I did laugh at your Polystyrene balls, they've been like that with us too. I'll call them that from now on. Good to hear you're getting your jab soon, we only had to wait 6 weeks here. Yeah1 I feel like you with the treats too.
Keep safe

All beautiful cards... We see a lot of robins in our area. They love to have a party in our bird bath. It almost looks like they are all at a swim club together.

Oh Kate all three cards are lovely but like you I think you have saved the last for best. He certainly looks like a proper little robin. I don't have my second jab till end of the month and not looking forward to having a repeat performance of getting a reaction from it but needs must. Hugs Mrs A.

Sorry Kate, I had a senior moment and thought I had done something wrong and came back to check and had indeed had put the comment for here up on the following post, so have deleted it from there. All three cards are beautiful and I adore Robins which are a favourite for Christmas cards. Great upcycling to make that matted oval shape on the first, then the really pretty Hobby Art stamp coloured beautifully with your Copics, and I love the holly dp for the background, and then the gorgeous image in black with the pops of red on the robin and for the matted layer..so stylish and elegant looking. x
