We Wish You a Merry Christmas!!

Hello Everyone, and I hope you are all keeping well and safe. Isn't this the strangest Christmas, in my lifetime anyway, I'm sure most of you will feel the same. Perhaps the war years would have caused some disruption, but I wasn't around then, and I would guess that all the British people would have had plenty of time to get organised, unlike now. However, it is what it is and it's to be hoped that we all come out safely and be able to have the vaccine soon.

Are you all organised? I've finally done with the food shopping, a quick run out earlier as I've got it in my head that I wanted Potato scones for a bacon, egg and tattie scone breakfast on Christmas morning, and I'd forgotten them yesterday. I can rest happily now as I managed to get a packet. Out of all the things that could upset the day, I never thought it would be tattie scones lol.

This will be the first time since 2004 that I will be cooking the Christmas dinner as we are usually with Damian and Moreen, and of course they do the cooking, I only make the soup, but this year with things as they are, we have decided to stay home, and they are quite happy with that, whatever is the safest thing to do they said. But we will meet up tomorrow with Milo and Rowan for a walk and I've got a bottle of bubbly with which we can have a drink for Christmas Cheer.
We are luckier that many people having my son and wife so close by and still being able to see them....still no hugs though, which is sad.

It's been a heartbreaking year for many people, so it's even more important that those of us who have been more fortunate to reflect on that, Christmas can be a very sad time for some people at the best of times and this is certainly not the best of times.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card, and also for the many beautiful handmade cards sent to us by my lovely Blogging friends.

So, Alistair and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas, however you celebrate it, have the best day you can, and as for the New Year....well let's hope it will be a brighter, healthier, one for everyone. Take care of yourselves and keep safe.

I, like you, forgot something, why do we do that? I'm all done though with everything done, washing, ironing, cooking and veg prepared. Whew a busy day LOL
Keep safe and enjoy your day, even as it's stranger than usual.
Happy Christmas

First of all what a wonderful card, Kate! Absolutely gorgeous! I hope you had a good Christmas. It has been a very quiet christmas here too, with christmas day on our own except for a visit to take Steve's dad his dinner and keep him awake whilst he ate it! He was still talking about his 100th birthday that was 2 weeks ago and kept asking if we were ready for christmas, lol. We had a doorstep present exchange and a walk with daughter and partner on boxing day (Blooming freezing but so lovely to see them). Hope there is a significant improvement in 2021 xxx thanks so much for all your kind words over the year xxx

Beautiful winter scene you created with the deer! It was a strange Christmas for sure, but glad we are staying safe and healthy through all this. We are also having high levels of cases and deaths here again since Thanksgiving.

Hugs, Sue
