Mushroom Houses!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good day. We've had rain on and off today, not as cold as yesterday, but certainly not summerlike. Tomorrow though has to be scorching over the whole UK.....for one day, really what's with this weather this year????

Thank you for your kind comments on my last card and for the good wishes that the pain in my hands eases. It has somewhat so that's good, don't know why it flared up, but I guess that's the nature of arthritis.

No card today but another finished page from a colouring book;
and here's the book it's from
I began colouring this on the 24th July and completed it today. I think I'm getting faster lol. I spend a couple of hours a day, in bursts of half and hour at a time, got to get up and stretch and walk around or else the old knees seize up, this getting old sucks.

I've used Prismacolour pencils and a little bit of Stickles , and the background has been done with DI and I added some little dots at the base of the houses. Not sure I like it as I'm not all that great at laying it down, but hey ho, it's done and it is what it is.
I'm very pleased though with the colouring of the little houses. I do love my Prismas and I'm only short of 9 out of the largest 150 set. I've been collecting them over the last few years, but it's getting a bit difficult to get them in open stock here as they come from the USA and because of  Covid the online shops are not managing to get them other in dribs and dabs.

Anyway, that's me for today, time for dinner and Alistair has just phoned to say he's just got off the mountain and will be another hour and a half before he's home, so I'll just have mine. Take care, and keep safe,

What a gorgeous image and so beautifully coloured, your best yet. Too hot here today and tomorrow will be worse, I would rather have your weather for a couple of days, hate the heat.

Are type of pencils you use available here .... ...

It looks like some are out of stock at the moment but should be available soon.

Hope this helps. Nothing worse than being a few short of a full set!

WOW! Kate, that is fabulous colouring, love the image.
I agree about the weather, we had it scorching hot this morning, then about 2pm the clouds came over and now it's warm with threatening skies. I spoke to my niece in Bury St Edmunds and she loves telling me how hot and sunny it is there. Grr LOL.
Take care

I concur that getting old SUCKS! Can only managee about ten minutes typing and even less using a pen without my hand cramping up. I bought a special pen made by Yoropen for left handed people and it has eased the strain of holding a pen in my hand a little. I am still not seeing any improvment in the Frozen shoulder and totally fed up with the pain it is causing. Shoulder clicks when I get out of bed of a morning and when I went to the dentist she made a note on my files to say that I now had a clicky left jaw so I definetly think my left side is on the blink. I mention the pen as it might be a suggestion for you to try. It can be used by right handed people as well. Hope the pain in your hands subsides. I love your colouring page. I am still following Barbara on You tube but not doing any of the doodling or colouring myself. Sorry any spelling mistakes in above will have to stay.
Keep well and safe. Hugs Mrs A.

Hi Kate,
this is perfectly coloured and so brilliant.
I love it and your work is very stunning.
I see that you can recommend those pencils.
So glad you are now out of pain.
Who nows why these things flare up.
I often wonder if it was the job I used to do when my children were little so I could make some extra money coming in.
I used to use those horrid polishing machines in offices on evening shifts after hubby came home.
You would have to hold on so tight to handles to stop them going all over the place.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
