Fancy Flowers!

Hello Everyone, hoping all is well with you today, and would you believe we are almost at another weekend, they are whizzing by.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card, love reading them and appreciate your continued visits.

We had a phone call from Alistair's brother Jim yesterday to say he has been told that he only has a couple of months left to live. Yet he says that he has no pain, thankfully, and his voice still sounds strong. It's  such a strange emotion that although you know that it's coming, your'e till shocked to your foundations.  I am glad that Alistair and  Jim have made their peace with each other, that was on my mind, but I didn't want to interfere...I'm married to a very thrawn man and at times it seams that he cuts off his nose to spite his face, anyway, I'm pleased that it's happened and he'll go down and visit Jim soon.  It seams such a pity that his brother has had to go through chemo and the bowel operation and they haven't given him any more time, but he wanted to try it. Life can be so sad.

So on to my card;
I've used Fancy Flowers from Honeydoo stamps and hexagon stamp set from Honey Bee stamps. The flowers have been coloured with Zig watercolour pens and I've stamped some to the hexagons in gold ink. The sentiment is one from CB and I've finished withe gold sequins.
Now my design is inspired by Kelly Latevola who has  wonderful You Tube videos, she also designs for quite a few of the American stamp companies, Honey Bee being one of them. She is brilliant at colouring and storytelling, all at the same time and she is so humorous with her stories.

I'm just in time to enter my card into the Stamping Sensations challenge;

That's all for now, I will be back at the weekend with my CCC card, yes it's that time again. So enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned. We are going to a concert in the Cathedral on Saturday night which we are looking forward to, apart from that it will be just the usual things, housework, cooking, shopping....you know the kind of thing.  Take care everyone and see you soon,

I am so sorry to hear the news on your brother in law . The Doc’s best friend from school days (also our kids Godfather) was diagnosed with prostrate cancer earlier in the year. Unfortunately it had already spread around his body but he has just gone through the six months chemo and we are waiting to hear from him how his follow up MRI scan has gone. Life can be so pants.
Love this card which has an oriental look to it I think. Hugs Mrs A.

That's a beautiful card Kate, love how you've combined those stamp sets.
Very sad news about Jim, even when you know it's coming it must still be an awful shock. I'm pleased to hear they made up, my hubby is in the same position with his brother who did nothing when their mum was ill. It was her last wish that they make up, something like this puts things in perspective but like you I try to keep out of it.
Have a lovely weekend

So so sorry for Alistair's brother... I know how are these moments. Life on the earth is a beautiful strange voyage, we don't ever know when it will finish.... But it still continues in another dimension, so it's very important that the peace between brothers is done :)
Your card is so beautiful, great contrast between the colourful poppies and the geometrical black and white shapes
Hugs!

Oh Kate, I'm so sorry you received such news and I do hope that he is surrounded by family and reminded that he is very loved! I've been there and it's a difficult place but with family, it changes so much. NOw your card - WOW! Love the vibrant colors and how gorgeously designed it is! That POP of orange is just perfect for this time of year! I think you could maybe make this again during the holidays with reds and greens! LOVELY! x

A very beautiful and contemporary design Kate, love the geometric background.
Sad news about your BIL, even though you think you are prepared for it, it is still a shock. Thankfully the two brothers have gotten over their differences and that is a good thing going forward. Take care of yourself as you will need to be strong for Alistair when the time comes.

I popped back Kate as I realised I didn't thank you for sharing your pretty creation with us and joining in with our'Flowers' theme at Stamping Sensations challenge. The problem with trying do do comments on my tablet is I don't always read posts properly on the smaller screen!

So Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Good that he and your hubby are in a better place - it doesn't make it any easier, but being there for each other has got to be a good thing.
What a beautiful card, Kate! I love the colours and those hexagons really make a lovely backdrop for the beautiful flowers. Thanks so much for sharing them with us for our floral theme at Stamping Sensations this month and Good Luck!

Pretty flowers, design and loving the black, red and white color combo.
Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law's diagnosis. It is a shame that we have to endure so much pain and suffering with no better results. Thinking of you and your family.

The orange flowers look so pretty with the patterned hexagons Kate and the CB sentiment and gold sequins are great finishing touches. So sorry to hear that your BIL is not expected to live much longer but good that Alistair and he have made their peace with one another. It seems most unfair that the op and chemo have not given him more time and must be an extremely difficult time for you both. x
