Black and Gold for the CCC!

Happy New Year to You All, I hope everyone enjoyed their festivities and are now looking forward to the year ahead.

Alistair and I had a lovely Christmas Day with Damian, Moreen and all the pets. Both Milo and Rowan were very excited to see us, and both claimed Alistair's knees, but Alfie the gorgeous cat won out as he fitted on the knees perfectly, it was all so funny to watch. We has a lovely Vegetarian dinner, and I walked over the road afterwards to make sure Teallach was alright. Damian and the dogs came with me and it was like walking on diamonds, what a thick frost, and bright stars, but perishing cold, just what was needed after a wonderful dinner.

New Year was quiet, we struggled to say up for the bells, I just wanted to go to bed with my book. There was nothing good on the TV either, gone are the days when the Hogmanay programmes were good with Stanley Baxter, Francie and Josie , Jimmy Logan.....who I can hear you say, my Scottish Blogging Friends will know who I'm talking about lol.

Anyhoo, it's good to get back to normal...whatever that is.

So, this is the first Christmas Card Club Challenge of 2022 and I'm leading off with a Black and Gold theme, here is what I've come up with;

Papers are from Dovecraft Time to Sparkle pad, where all the papers are black and gold. The die is one I bought at The Works a year or so ago, then finished it off with some black sequins.

Strips of black and gold glitter card, a SU tree and sentiment stamp embossed in gold, a gold bow and s few golden gems. Totally simple.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the other CCC girls make, so remember to have a look as they always have fabulous cards.

That's me for now, I hope you are all well and keeping safe from the virus, it remains very worrying. It's raging in Inverness, so we are carrying on as we have been for the last how ever long it's been, so take care and be back soon,

Pleased to read you had an enjoyable Christmas Kate, fingers crossed ours is happening today as Covid put paid to our planned Christmas, not Eddy and I but some of the children/grandchildren in various ways.

Gold and black makes such a statement on your cards and how good to have a start on those for another year.

Take care, stay safe and well and lets hope 2022 is kinder on everyone.

Happy New Year to you and your family

Two beautiful cards, \i love the second one the best.
We had the same problem down here, nothing on TV but we did manage to stay up just and had a drink, it was very quite down here we did not hear any fireworks or bells. I just hope that 2022 this virus will go and we can get back to a normal life, whatever normal is

Happy New Year Kate. Two fabulous cards and I especially like the second one as it's really quite striking. My Dad used to love watching Stanley Baxter and I remember him being on the telly when I was a child. I'm pleased to hear that you had a good Christmas. We spent time with our family, which was all that I wanted to do. Take care, stay safe and I look forward to seeing more of your makes in 2022 x

Two stunning cards . I just could not get my head round a black and gold theme and only managed one card. Like you trying to stay safe and well away from the virus but no one seems to be safe from it. Very concerned that Sue caught it even with all her precautions. Hugs Mrs A.

OH! Kate I'd love to have had a frosty Christmas we had rain and low mist ugh! I agree about the New Year programs, they used to be so good, I DO remember Jimmy Logan ;) we only kept the TV on to see the fireworks, even those weren't as good. Anyhow, on to your beautiful cards, I love the stag paper with the fabulous die, a Super card. Your sparkly offering is really luxurious. Gorgeous work Kate.

I love both cards which are great for a man. I have not been crafting since September, just before my operation but, once my Christmas stuff is down(yup, it's still up) I hope to get back into it. I have to try the black and gold together. Glad you had a great Christmas.

Hi Kate, glad you had a lovely Christmas. We had gammon with all the trimmings but your vegetarian dinner sounds really good too. (I'm not keen on meat but the men in my life are.)

Your cards are both fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge so thank you for that.

Ayrshire is a hotspot for the virus too so we're doing our best to avoid catching it. Saying that, it hasn't stopped us catching the colds and snuffles typical of winter.

Take care and stay safe. Hugs x
