Deer for the CCC!

Hello Everyone, how are you all doing?? The weekend again, another quick week gone by in a flash. I hope whatever you're plans you are enjoying it.

Our weather is a bit wild, rain one minute, sunshine the next, so it's a day indoors, Alistair has the rugby so that's  him sorted.

Anyhoo, it's time for the Christmas Card Club Challenge's penultimate card share, and this time it's our Gwen who is the hostess and she would like to see Deer, or, if that's not possible then Anything Goes will do.

Here are my cards;

I'm not really sure what brand this die is, it could be a Sissix one and I've cut it out with chestnut coloured glitter card. I used a snowflake EF and inked it up in Northern Light sort of shades. . The papers is from SU, all on Kraft card and sequins to finish.

Another deer die this time I think it's one I bought at The Works, cut out in white and kraft card as a shadow. An EF in the background and some little gold gems.

I've been treating myself to some Carnation Craft dies, and this wonderful deer comes from the Magnes and Maya die set, but I've only used Magnes for this card. The trees, flowers and holly are all from Carnation Crafts too, except they aren't die cut, but fussy cut. This company make Vignettes of the dies which you can download, saves all the colouring, and these were quite easy to cut out. I've placed them all on a silver oval with paper from a CC download of snowflakes and the background paper is from SU. I've dotted a few clear gems her and there, and the sentiment dies are from Diesire. As you can see it's my Christmas card to Alistair.

Well Gwen, I loved this challenge so thank you so much. I'm not sure why I've used dies for this challenge as next challenge is to use dies, but hey ho, I had fun.

Alistair has the rugby on, it's Ireland and England,  and I thought what a shame that the players were all lined up for the National Anthems, and usually when there are fans in the stadium and the Irish fans would be belting out their Anthem, have to say I would be too as it's one that I love, the French National Anthem is another, the players could hardly be heard, no atmosphere. I guess I've never thought about the part that fans play at these  sport games. One forgets the toll that Covid  has on every aspect of society.

I will be scheduling this post for tomorrow for when the CCC goes live.

That's me for now, thank you for your continued kind comments  on my cards, it's much appreciated.

Take card of yourselves, keep safe and see you soon,

Three absolutely fabulous cards Kate. John is a rugby fan too so we are having rugby matches on TV too. Being from the north west John is more a fan of Rugby League but he still loves Rugby Union too.(Mind you he is very old fashioned - thinks rugby is a man's game not for women...lol!) Take care. Hugs Christine xx

Good Morning Kate. Well what a fantastic array of cards. Love them all but the One for Alistair is my favourite too. Our weather has been much like yours and the days are so short now too. Soon be Christmas so at least we don’t need to worry about cards. Enjoy your Day. Hugs Rita xxx

Lovely varied selection of deers here Kate. I think my favourite is the second as I love how you've shadowed with the kraft card. All gorgeous. Hope Alistair enjoyed the rugby. I agree it is sad how all these events have changed. Hopefully not to long now for a bit of life as we knew it. Keep safe Zoe x

These are all so different and so beautiful in their own right Kate. Alistair will be so pleased with his card, it's gorgeous and a perfect image for a male Christmas card I think. No sport here, hubby isn't in to any kind of ball sport, mainly car/motorbike racing so as the sun is shining and it's fairly dry here he's doing a bit of leaf clearing in the garden.
Take care and enjoy your Sunday.

It's a LONG time since I've been making cards and playing with paper. Book writing has just taken up so much of my time.
but now I have started a little coloring again -
I do love your art very much and is still following you on your blog

Hi Kate, you sound reasonably upbeat despite the circumstances but I can only agree with you regarding the rugby - fans are the breath of life for the game, in football too. My grandson is an ardent fan who also works for a firm that provides the security at the games so he is missing out doubly at this time. We'll survive, but at what cost.

Your cards are all beautiful. I like all the dies you've used. I particularly like the shadow you've created in the second card - it's inspired!

Hugs, xx

When the Welsh rugby team is playing I belt out the national anthem and when it is a home match it is glorious....x

A trio of really stunning stag cards, Kate! Great use of texture and pp and bling! I have a number of deer dies, too. I think they make the best elegant or masculine Christmas cards! Yes, Covid has taken a lot of the fun out of 2020, but there's hope on the horizon that we will soon be able to bring back a lot of our long-standing norms. It's hard to continue to be patient, but the alternative is, ahem, rather permanently no fun! Keep safe and well! Hugs, Darnell

I love the differences in each - and one of my favorite animals to make on cards - right after doggies :) I hope you are all well as I know Europe is on the rise again with Covid - stay safe and lots of hugs! xx
