Hello Everyone, I hope you are well this Sunday, and that you are enjoying your weekend.
Thank you all for the lovely comments about my BIL, you are very kind. Thank you too for commenting on my last card too. It was one I enjoyed making.
Well, it's time for another Christmas Card Club card, where do those weeks go to!! Anyway, this time the theme has been chosen by our lovely Lorraine and she would like to see Icicles or Anything goes. I had a hunt around my stash and I just couldn't find anything to to do with Icicles so I'm afraid I ended up with the Anything Goes theme and I've got two cards with Snowglobes. The nearest I could get to Icicles.
Up first is this little snowglobe die from Hobbycraft, it's rather sweet I think. after cutting it out I stamped it with embossing ink and then used Wow EP it give a frosted look. Background inked up with DI and splattered gouache to make the snow, I've added acetate and sequins to make a shaker card. The sentiment is by JND and the paper from a First Edition pad. A few gems to add sparkle.
This lovely snowglobe die is from The Works, and it cuts out wonderfully. Again I've made a shaker card. I found some bluish glitter card to make the sky. The acetate is fro CC and it already has whit dots on it. The beautiful paper is from the gorgeous paper pad I bought the other week from the Works. Sentiment, a freebie from creative Stamping magazine, some gems to finish.
Here's a close up of this one,
What fiddly things to make mind you, but I'm pleased with how they turned out, I hope they will do Lorraine.
I mentioned that we were going to a concert last night, and it was brilliant. Now I have always loved film music so this was right up my street, that and it was in aid of MFR Cash for Kids. MFR is our local radio and they do terrific work in raising money for children. The Cathedral was jam packed.....never seen it before, and with fabulous programme there was standing ovations. Some of the musicians were in costumes...lots of pirates and Star Trek Captains.
A young man, maybe late teens or very early twenties played the beautiful violin movement from Schindler's List faultlessly, absolutely wonderful for someone so young, but really all the music was outstanding and brilliantly conducted by Susan Dingle, who wanted everyone to sing along with Bohemian Rhapsody, amazing how may folk knew the words, me included, it was such fun.
It was a Scratch Concert, meaning all the musicians came together in the afternoon to rehearse the music and performed at night, such a large orchestra too, must have been around 50 +. Anyway it was a great night and brilliant to hear these fabulous pieces played live.
Right io, that's me for now, I hope to get around to visit your blogs later today. Thanks for your continued visits, and don't forget to comment on the other CCC girls fabulous cards, see you soon,
Id like to enter the first card into the https://scrapsoflifebyscrappymo.blogspot.com/2019/09/september-rudolph-days-challenge.html

Hi Kate. What fabulous Snowglobes, they really do look wonderful. I bought one when I visited the Works with you on my recent break. Great shop but sadly we don't have one here. You concert sounds as if you enjoyed it immensely with all those great film pieces being brought to life. Been thinking of Jim and of course the rest of the family, such a sad time Kate. Lots of Hugs Rita xxxx
It sounds like a wonderful concert Kate and I would have been in my element with Bohemian Rhapsody, one of my favs. Such pretty snow globes and such a good idea adding the shaker elements.

Wonderful snow globe cards, the concert sounds really good
Hi Kate!
I've seen your blog name name in blogland many times but this is my first visit. What a fascinating blog you have - it's lovely to read about crafting but also it's a bit like Mrs Dale's Diary (from Scotland). Probably before your time though.
Love your cards! And the main reason I popped in was to offer my sympathy at the gout diagnosis. I had it once three years ago and then spent weeks in bed from mid-February to early April this year. What agony and my heart goes out to you, crutches to hop to the bathroom, BUT, I do find that Colchicine is a help to stop an attack as well as really strong pain killers (Co-codamol when desperate)and am now on Allopurinol (spelling?) which reduces the uric acid. Mine was sky high and is now coming down as the dosage is slowly increased. It's a long process with monthly blood tests and the medication is for life - but worth it! Whoever said that gout was a disease of old men who drank and ate too much wasn't right. Mine was caused by a BP meds (as was the previous one but we didn't make the link until this time) - which are diuretic based. Therefore you pass liquid too frequently, allowing the uric acid to intensify. So far so good - a couple of 'niggles' with pain but I quickly pop a couple of Colchicine (they're a poison so have to be treated warily) and within 24 hours it settles down again. The pain actually shows that the Allopurinol is doing its job and dissolving those nasty uric acid crystal which lodge in your joints and need to disperse. My feet are affected by it but any joints can be - my ankles sometimes have been affected as a 'warning' and your knee issues might well be due to gout. Hope this isn't too much - reaching out to you in friendship and also I know the road you've been travelling!
Sending love and get well wishes - and adding myself as a follower (NOT a stalker!!).
Di xx
Forgot to say - I run the Snippets Challenge and would love to see you come and play with us x

Hola Kate!
Muchos besos!
Your snowglobe cards are beautiful. I love the look of bothof them. Did not see that globe at the Works when I was there, so it must be new this year!
Your cards have a lovely sparkly look!
Thanks for taking part in the September Rudolph Days Challenge.
These are so super cute, I used to love snow globes as a child, my Gran collected them, so this took me back, so sweet, hugs Pops x
Your cards are so cute Kate! I love snowglobes, well the real ones, so have tried to make cards in that style and as much as I love the real ones the card making ones are so fiddly that I was put off lol!
It sounds like you had a lovely night at the concert and you reminded me of when Steve and I lived in London - we used to visit the Barbican a lot to go to concerts and I always loved the movies music nights so much, thank you for reminding me of a lovely memory xx
Two super snowglobe cards Kate, the first one looks like it has icicles on it and who doesn't love a shaker card.

Oh Kate, love your beautiful snow globes, have loved snow globes since I was a child (so long ago)! Love that you created shakers with them too. Awesome makes, lucky recipients!
Hugs
Sue
These snowglobes and backgrounds are all fabulous Kate and at least you have some Christmas cards made, whereas I have made absolutely none yet so really must get on with them soon. The concert sounds as though it was lovely with some really good music and a scratch orchestra too. I have been to a few of these sort of concerts in Bristol with a scratch choir and orchestra and I take my hat off to them as they only get several hours of practice before the performance, but do get the music a month or two before so that they can practice it at home, but it is still not an easy task. x
Fabulous makes Kate. Love the snow globes. Will check out the works. The concert sounds amazing and a lot of fun.
Hugs Flo xx
