Peony Circlet!

Hello Everyone and I hope you are well and looking forward to the week ahead.

I've been away for the last week in Glasgow as Alistair's brother has been quite ill and need an operation to remove his bowel. Poor man as if cancer isn't enough. Anyway, it all wen well and he will now not experience the awful problems and pain he's been having. Sadly it won't lengthen his life any, but won't have pain. It was discovered that his cancer is more aggressive than thought too, so really it's all about maintaining quality of life now. The visit was really quite fraught for many reasons which I won't go into here, but I came home feeling so dispirited, saddened and angry. All sorts of family things going on. I felt for Alistair who drops his life and races down to support and is left feeling as if he shouldn't have bothered. Families eh!!

Anyway, with all of this I've not been around to comment on your blogs, so sorry about that, and it's just now too much to catch up with, but I'm back in harness now. There is always so much to catch up with when you've been away and I didn't feel much like crafting either, so good job I had this card made a while back;
This is a Honey Doo stamp which I've coloured with Altenew water colour paint. I think it's a fairly new image called Peony  Circlet. The sentiment is from the same set. I've added Wink of Stella and a few pearls. It's a pretty image I think and peonies are another flower that I love and when I see them in the flower shop, I treat myself to a bunch.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my CCC cards, you are so very kind.

That's me for now, I'll love you and leave you and hope to be back soon, take care,

Your card is quite pretty and I do like that sentiment. I haven’t heard that quote before!

I am so sorry for your family member who needs surgery. I do hope that it helps with his pain. Family is so difficult. So many misunderstandings and miscommunications, along with the other issues. Hope you are feeling back with it again soon.

A gorgeous card and sentiment, the stamp is beautifully coloured Kate, so sad to read that Alistair's brother has been so ill and in pain, I hope the surgery helps ease his pain, and that he is able to enjoy a greater quality of life than he has recently. Families can pull in different directions when under pressure and sadly make coping so much more difficult, my thoughts are with you and Alistair

A beautiful card, lovely colour. Sorry to hear bil is so poorly. As for families, well you choose your friends and not your family. I think so many have ups and downs with family. Take care of yourselves x

Hi Kate here is a link to the kangies in the snow, which was around 3hrs west of Sydney, we are 2 hrs north...

Alistair will love to see this too. The only snow I have seen in Australia is a long way in the snow country where skiers go each year and drive for hours to get there...xxxx

Such a pretty card Kate, beautifully watercoloured too.
So sorry to hear of your Brother in Law's health problems, I do hope that the surgery affords him a more comfortable future. Families are strange things, with emotions high there always seem to be conflicts and fraught exchanges instead of compassion and a need to be kind to each other.
Take care,
Lorraine

A beautiful card Kate, that stamp is very pretty.
Sorry to hear that Alistair's Brother is having such a rough time, all you can do is your best and you'll have a clear conscience that you did what you could despite anyone else.
Hope your spirits are lifted for being back home.

How awful for your BiL and hubby, my Dad had the same, I was so angry at the time, I remember someone asking me how he was and me saying "he's dying" it upset her and me at the time. Perhaps the family feel the same?

I Love your card and what a wonderful and beautiful sentiment, lovely shape on the stamp and love it framed with the pink. So very pretty Kate.
Enjoy being back crafting, look forward to seeing your wonderful makes.

So sorry to hear that Alistair's brother has had to have his bowel removed on top of all his other troubles but hopefully he will be more comfortable without it. Families can be a trial sometimes and I'm sorry things have left you feeling a bit dispirited and hope you soon feel better. Well, your peonies are absolutely gorgeous in that pink and love the shaped edge including that lovely matching pink layer, and some pretty pearls and a great sentiment to finish it beautifully. I always think it is such a shame that peony flowers come and go so quickly. x

So sorry to hear about Alistair's brother. Give him a hug from me (I can totally relate to brothers pushing you away when they really need the help!) A stunningly gorgeous card. I have invested in quite a few honey doo stamps of late and this is one I am seriously tempted by!

That is a beautiful stamp and the card you created with it is wonderful. So sorry that your brother in law has had another set back, poor man. Hope they can keep him comfortable. I know what you mean about family, seems situations that are so sad to begin with brings out the worst in folks.

Hugs
