Anniversary!

Hello Everyone, how are you all doing today? I hope things are going well for you.

Thank you all so much for your lovely kind comments regarding my BIL on my last post, he seems to be doing okay, other than having to learn to change the stomma bag, and he will be in hospital until he can manage that. The chemo has left him without feeling in his finger tips and that seems to be causing that, but I'm sure he'll get there..
Thanks too for your lovely comments on my card too, I love to hear what you think of them.

Well my good news is that my Diabetic Review was good, blood glucose well withing the good range and the nurse was pleased. However, I had another blood test for the pain in my legs, and would you believe it, I've got gout, and low iron, which is causing restless legs. 'So now stated on yet more medication...honestly diabetes is the least of my problems LOL, and of course the tummy problem is still ongoing.
I've just been marking down all the medication and when I take it on a sheet of paper and sticking it on the fridge door, as I'm finding it difficult to keep on top of it all, and there are many more people who take more than I do, I wonder how they manage it all. Anyway, I've got my second Vitamin B12 injection tomorrow, still waiting to see the difference this makes. The car knows it's own way to the surgery these days I've been there so often. Thank goodness for the NHS, where would we be without it! dead I guess.

Well on to my card for today;

An Anniversary card made for a dear friend. A very simple card, an embossing folder from CC and Su paper matted on to purple SU card. I'm not sure where the heart die comes from as I've thrown out the label, a few pearls to embellish.

Alistair has been away for a long beach walk today with his friend, and the weather's held, after the rain last night I doubted if they'd get away, but they did and I dare say he'll be home soon, so better have a look and see what's for dinner, so I'll finish up for now and hope to see you soon, take care of yourselves,

I think that deeply embossed background is absolutely the loveliest look to go with your pretty paper and layered hearts Kate and I'm sure your friend will have adored it. So pleased the results of your diabetes review are good but a shame you now have to take medication for gout and iron deficency, but on the bright side hopefully the meds will put it all right quickly and you won't have to take them for too long. x

Great results for both you and your BIL...stoma bags are what I did for dad but at his ripe ol' age he was unable to do it, but not the end of the world, your BIL, once he gets feeling in his fingers will do well...he seems positive. Lovely card today and the touch of class is well there...enjoy your weekend and keep smiling.xxx

Beautiful card, Kate! So much detail and the embossing really ties it together nicely! Oh goodness, you and I sound a lot a like ~ with the meds and dr and trips to see what is what! It sounds like you are thinking positively and that's half the win right there! xx

A beautiful card Kate, such an elegant design.
Great news about your diabetes, but not so good about the gout. We got a little container with a compartment for each day, morning, lunch time and evening to put my Mum's tablets in, we would fill it up weekly and you can see at a glance what you need to take and if you have taken them.

Ahh this is super, what a lovely card, Love mostly white creations, they always look so elegant. I do my Dads medications for him once a week. He bought a weekly pill box from the chemist. It helps keep him on track as he is on a fair few morning and night and insulin. Hope all settles soon for you all, Hazel xx

A really Beautiful card Kate, I'm sure your friend will LOVE it. beautiful texture, paper and design. I'm going to have to tell my son about the link between restless legs and lack of iron, although he has low iron the Dr still gave him tablets for the restless legs only. A big thing for your BiL to get used to, my Dad didn't like his at all. However it's a necessity and I hope all goes well with him. As for You Keep taking the tablets LOL Keep well.

This looks so elegant. I love the colour. The Doc has lots of different pills to take each day and the pill strips are marked up using a black marker pen with the day on each one . Doesn’t always work mind when he gets to Friday and a pill with Wednesday on it is still unused on the strip!! Hugs Mrs A.

It's me again Kate!just read your comment on my blog about the seagull and falling in the water...oh my!!! you must have been so shaken up by that!one of my pics was of Polperro btw.(5th one from the bottom). The seagulls were so noisy we found too and I wouldn't want to be staying in a house anywhere near the water as the noise must be just awful, screeching all the time. I took that pic with it just to remind me ;) hugs Viv xx

Sorry to hear about more medication Kate...It must wear you down? x Glad the diabetes is under control x
Last year I had a nasty inflammation in my eye and the only reason I am telling you is I remember thinking how do some people manage....There was several different drops and I had to take them at all different times and all different frequencies...I had to write it all down and cross it off as I was going....It was not funny and I am sure less able, infirm or older people would have had to get the district nurse in several times a day to cope! So I feel your pain....as it where x
What great texture in your beautiful anniversary card. I often forget to bring out the embossing folders, so thank you for the reminder x.
