Going to the Land of Nod, Friday Oldie!

Good Afternoon Everyone, hoping you are all well and gearing up for  a good weekend whatever your plans are.

It's Friday and so time for another Friday Oldie, joining Erika in sharing a creation from a time gone by and you can find Erika here.
You can share anything handmade doesn't have to be a card, since this little fun bit of blogging began, we've seen, knitting, sewing, paining, ceramics, all sorts of beautiful handmade creations

This is my little offering, an image I think from Mo Manning which I just love and it reminds me of a lovely Fairy Tale book I had as a little girl with the story of Winking, Blinking and Nod, which my Dad would read to me at bed time.  It was one of these lovely thick books with beautiful illustrations, I don't know whatever became of it, my memory hasn't retained that piece of information, sadly.

Coloured with Promarkers, as that was all I had at this time. Just looking at this I'm of a mind that my colouring has improved.  I've still got the card in my box as I've never had a little one to give it too, I must have made it for a challenge.

There are quiet a few of us joining Erika now, so why not join in with us and share an Oldie, it's just for fun.

I've been a wee bit absent for a couple of days, not getting to your blogs, but the reason was that we were down in Edinburgh to see this;
This exhibition is fabulous and well worth a visit, if you are anywhere near Edinburgh. An amazing culture and a period in time that I find fascinating.  The artifacts that have been found over the centuries are truly amazing. A very interesting exhibition, and we had a lovely time in our capital city.

So I am way behind in my visits around Blogland which I hope to rectify over the weekend.

It's my birthday on Sunday, eeeeeek 63! well it's only a number after all, we are with Damian and Moreen going out for a Birthday dinner to a little local Indian eatery, so looking forward to that, and as I bought my birthday pezzy at the museum, I know I've got a lovely one, I bought a Celtic brooch, (love brooches) and handed over to Alistair to keep until Sunday. He was delighted as it saves him looking for something.

Thank you all for the lovely comments left on my last post, love to receive them and appreciate each and everyone.

So off now to link up with Erik's blog and then a visit to your blogs and maybe a bit of crafting. It's very dull here today, so an inside day in the craft room is just perfect.

Till next time, take care of yourselves,

Hi Kate, happy birthday šŸŽ‚ for Sunday. Your trip looked interesting to Edinburgh.
A lovely oldie, I remember winky, blinky and nod. A super story. Love your colour combo.
Thanks for joining me sharing an oldie today.
Have a super birthday weekend.

Hugs Erika. X

P.S. The crochet heads look a reasonable size, life like, so to speak. The wee mouse is cute.

63!!! You are still a kid! Oh Kate - one of my favorite cities in the world is Edinburgh - Such a beautiful and interesting city. I am pea green with envy.
Your card is adorable and I really love the image. Mo Manning certainly knows how to capture the essence of what she is drawing.

Hi Kate, It sounds like you had a wonderful trip, I love all things Celtic. I wish you a very happy birthday for Sunday and I hope you have a wonderful day with your Husband and friends. You're absolutely right in what you say about it only being a number, life for living, not for worrying about how old we are as nothing stops the clock. I think I was more stressed at turning thirty than I was when I turned fifty but that's wisdom for you! Take care Kate and have a lovely weekend. Crafty hugs, Sandra :) X

I remember this nursery rhyme too (Carly Simon even has an old song about it, Winken, Blinken & Nod- very catchy. When you hear it, can't dismiss it from your brain!) Lovely card, so sweet. Yay for you on enjoying this fab exhibit. Bet it was just so interesting to see. Wish I could! Happy early birthday, you're just a baby! (and a retired baby too, even better!!!! LOL). Enjoy your day. TFS & Hugs
