Thinking of You!

Good Evening to Everyone, and I do hope all is well with you and that you've enjoyed your day.
Thank you to everyone who visited and left comments on my last post, you are very kind, and Welcome to my new Followers too, I hope you will visit often and leave a comment, to let me know that you have popped in. Just as soon as I have time I will be over to have a look at your blogs.

I had a lovely day yesterday as I had a visit from Hazel of A basket of Joy and her sister Patricia, Summerhouse Crafts.  It's been such a long time since we have managed to meet up so there was lots to talk about, it was also a lovely day, and it was nice to sit in one of our hotels by the River Ness to have a bit of lunch.  Tell you what it was good they came yesterday, cos the weather today has been downpours off and on.

I have another Inkylicious card for you today;
Sea view stamp from Inkylicious and background inked with a selection of Momento inks.
This was for our friend who began his cancer treatment on Monday.

I've been busy putting inserts in the cards I've made recently, when I first started making cards I didn't do this and then had to hurry and put one in when giving the card away. It's  a part of the process I just don't like doing, isn't that strange.

That is me for today, off now to make a cuppa, least I can do as Alistair made a lovely dinner with salmon.

Have a good evening and see you all soon,

I love this scene, brilliant card. I am with you, inserts and then into cello bags and pricing for selling is my least fave part, would rather be making the cards

Wonderful card Kate - as you know, I live a block from the ocean! How lovely that you got to spend time with friends. As you know, I love Scotland and would dearly love to go back. What fun having lunch by the River Ness. I loved the Oatmeal that our Bed and Breakfast served us everyday and there was always a tin of Oak Cakes on the table - yum!!!!

Hi Kate I hope you, Patricia and Hazel had a lovely day. They don't seem to have been about as much online lately.

I love your masculine card, perfect too for our neck of the woods. The background is beautifully atmospheric.

We had another good day out in Inverness again today, all tired now.

Have a super weekend, hugs Erika.

P.S. I can't believe I wasn't already a follower, have rectified it. x

So very pretty & a wonderful masculine card to cheer up your friend. Best wishes to him for a good recovery, and hopefully not a lot of bad side effects. I don't put inserts in until I'm ready to use the card, and sometimes that gets to be a problem, if I have to do a lot of this effort in a hurry (like Christmas!). Happy wkend, and TFS

Hi Kate, thank you for the very kind comment that you've just left. You can always build up colour with the Ink Dusters by letting the ink dry and then building up the colour gradually. It also makes a vast difference depending on what base card you use. The silk art card does hold the colour much better than matt card but it is more expensive so I tend to just use it when I'm making special cards. When I want a more intense colour, I then use make up sponges rolled into a ball or use finger ink daubers. These little daubers give a lovely depth of colour and are really useful for adding colour around the finished card too. Your cards are absolutely wonderful Kate and I think that your use of ink is spot on. If there's anything else I can help you with, then please just let me know and I'll do my best. Take care and enjoy your evening. Crafty hugs, Sandra X X

Stunning card Kate love the soft colours and the tranquillity of the scene, i hope your friend doesn't find his treatment too gruelling. It's been a while since I had afternoon tea overlooking the River Ness perhaps a trip is in order, also to see where my grandfather was brought up his father was engineer lock keeper on the canal and the last time I visited the cottage had been undergoing an upgrade which sadly seemed to have ground to a halt
