Embossed Seedheads!

Hello Crafty Folk, who are you this Sunday, hopefully well, but if not sending out kind thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Thank you to everyone who kindly left a comment on my last post, I do appreciate each and every one of them.

It's been a beautiful day up here in Inverness, have to say September has been on the whole a super month. Got the washing out and it's all dry, thankfully not too much ironing in the bundle.

Alistair is preparing yet again for another canoe trip, so all quiet on the Northern Front from tomorrow. I have a few plans of my own. The Multi-cultural group I've started to go to is having their AGM on Wednesday and are having a bit of a do afterwards, so we have been asked to bring along some finger food.  Now I could have been on a sticky wicket here had I not asked if it had to be home cooked. The answer was no, but just to make sure it was Halal food, "crivens help-ma-bob", never gave that a thought, I could have put my size 3s right in it by taking along something like sausage rolls. Now why did I not think about this as most of the ladies are Muslim. So I've been on the the Halal recipe sites, and might manage to do something, if not, I've checked out M&S and they might have to come to the rescue with some vegetarian goodies.  There will be some fab food though.

My card today is another made with Chocolate Baroque stamps;
Using the new AYOS stamp; Seed heads and butterflies from the Honeysuckle Butterfly stamp set for embellishments and seeds from Seasonal Fragments on the background. The main topper and background have been stamped with Versamark and embossed with WOW Embossing Powders in Two Tone Copper, Gold and Red.  The butterflies have been coloured with Creative Expressions Metallic Watercolour Paints, which I love and also used them to give the background card a colour wash. I've also used a dark red shimmery card. No sentiment as yet.
I wanted an Autumnal look , although I'm not sure if butterflies are still around in Autumn.

Well I've had rugby until it's been coming out of my ears today, only consolation is that Scotland won, I've been promised Downtown later though.

That's all from me for the moment, so I'll say cheerio and see you soon,

A super card Kate. I have been having a quiet chuckle to myself, but my goodness wouldn't it have been dreadful if you had turned up with goodies that they couldn't eat? Thank goodness you had the presence of mind to check it out!! Have a good time! Hugs Christine xx

This is so pretty, love that image with the seedheads. Looks great the way you've done the colors, the mats, and I don't think it needs anything else on the front at all! Good for you at getting out & learning about the diversity in your part of the world, and enjoying some wonderful ethnic food while you get to know these folks. Hope it's loads of fun, and good thing you asked some questions! Enjoy your day to yourself, and enjoy Downton tonight. Guess we'll see it in the US early in Jan. Have a great week and TFS. Hugs

Hi Kate
I've seen butterflies on some Christmas cards lately (go figure lol!) so I'll let you off hahaha!
Love the seed heads. Lots of them about now as Summer is drifting away.
What does "crivens help-ma-bob" mean? Lol! Be careful with the vege options too as it can be a bit of a minefield.
Rugby......tell me about it lol!
Best wishes.

Beautiful card, Kate. The background is lovely and love the seed heads on the topper. You will be relieved to know that I spotted a butterfly today so they are still around down this way. Chuckled at your "crivens help-ma-bob" - haven't heard either expression in a very long time :) Elizabeth xx

Hope you got the food sorted Kate. I would imagine Inverness would have a good veggie range.
A lovely autumnal card. Great background too.
Downtown was a nice finish to a rugby mad day.

Your new interest in the Muslim culture is certainly interesting. You are gonna have to keep us well informed!
Your card is delightful - love the image.
My husband would love to have Alistair for a buddy. Alistair seems to like to do everything Art likes to do. Maybe we should move to Scotland! Art made his canoe and it is beautiful!

Hope your AGM goes well and the eats for afterwards meet everyone's approval. Disaster nicely side stepped there me thinks. I'm absolutely loving this card. The seed heads on the base card are a nice touch. I have a few of their stamps and find them great to stsmp with. hugs Mrs A.
