MacIntosh Beauty!

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog, I hope you are all having a good Saturday and keeping well.  We have fog and it's feeling damp and cold, another day for staying indoors, I had to go out earlier but I'm sure in now.

I could do with new living room curtains and the best time to buy things for the home is when hubby isn't here, you know what I mean ladies, anyway, we have a Dunelm here in Inverness so I thought I would go there. A super variety of curtains, and finally settled on a pair only to get confused by the size I needed.  The more I thought about it the more I could remember what size the ones I have are. So I gave up and now if I can find Alistair's measuring tape, I'll note the correct size and go again tomorrow, Alistair isn't back till tomorrow evening.

He has been down visiting his brother who is not managing to clean his house just as well as he used to, so Alistair to the rescue, Jim is the older brother and is not as fit as Alistair.  However Jim has a young daughter, who could help a bit, but he won't ask as he feels she is working hard and doesn't need his problems.  She has her own flat but lives fairly near he dad. Alistair thought it better I didn't go down with him as I would have shaken them all up a bit too much, but it's what's needed. Anyway enough of our family dilemmas.
I'm here today with a card I've made for the Chocolate Baroque Challenge using this colour pallet;

The images are from the Macintosh Beauty set which I thing are gorgeous. I've matted and layered with Tattered Lace Lilac Paper and a free download from CB which has all the colours of the challenge.
Coloured with SN and Wink of Stella, doesn't show up though.
SB Rose die and a Marianne Flourish Die
Purple Pearls from Hobby House.

That's me for today, unfortunately I won't have a card for the CCC tomorrow as the theme is origami/teabag, neither of which I can do, so sorry about that Karen.

Enjoy your weekend and keep well everyone,
I would like to enter my card into http://chocolatebaroquechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/challenge-four.html

Love your card Kate. The colours are indeed beautiful. Funnily I was just thinking will I put up my heavy curtains today ,or leave it till next week. So I have changed 2 beds instead. I know what you mean by the CCC as I was like you, but after looking on You Tube I found it was fairly easy. Hugs Rita xx

A gorgeous card Kate . Love the colours. Oh I think I am lucky where buying things for the house is about as I just plant the thought into Charlie's mind and he comes round ok, I just don't tell him the cost. Oh I could just see you shaking them all. His daughter should see that her dad isn't doing things, or is that just me. Just can't get my head round crafting at the moment. So just having a break. Hope those bloods are down a bit. Hazel x

I love anthing to do with MacIntosh so this is a winner for me. Funnily enough I am going into Dunelm tomorrow to order ........... new curtains for my lounge! I chose the fabric and headers I want but forgot to take the measurements so that is why I am having to do a second journey. At least it will all be looking nice for Christmas. Hugs Christine xx

Hi Kate
When I saw your title, I thought you had bought a new raincoat lol!
Lovely card and image. Your colouring is superb. Her hair just glows. Wish I had the patience to do it.
Perhaps Alastair could have a chat with his niece. Sometimes things aren't always black and white or if not, at least it may spur her into action.
I'm the tightwad in this house lol! Mr D is "if you want it, have it" lol!
Hope you manage to get back from Dunelm under the radar lol!
Best wishes.

Delightful colors & image in a very pretty card. Love that it is a 'long' card too, and the pretty rose trim in the corner. Good luck with your curtains. That's a chore I dread..we have window blinds with just cornice toppers. Hope the rescue effort goes well. I think all families have to deal with this kind of thing. It's never easy. Good that your DH can go lend a hand & you have some 'me' time. TFS & Happy wkend.

Lovely card Kate, haven't seen these Macintosh images before. Sorry you have the fog today, wrong side of the country. It was sunny here in Fort William.

Ha ha, aren't us ladies sneaky when it comes to buying something new! A friend and myself have the habit of taking off the price tickets before getting home! No good getting older if you don't get wiser too.....LOL
Love your card Kate. x

Loving the Mackintosh feel to your card today Kate, great colour combination.
I too am a big fan of Dunelm, always have to visit when over your way.
As for families, we all have them and all the problems that come with them. We just live so far away it is frustrating sometimes as it is difficult to help out.

Have a lovely week, hugs Erika. x
