Exotic Flowers!

 Hello Friends and Visitors, I hope you are well and enjoying your day.

I needed to find the date today to fill in a form and was amazed to learn that it was 28th April, I don't know what I thought it was, but not that far along, this is going to be another quick year.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments that you left on my last post, very much appreciated.

I have another card today and it's a birthday card for a friend,

This lovely floral image is by Altenew called Exotic Flowers and it comes along with it's die. It's coloured with Zig watercolour pens and I've added some Stickles for sparkle. I found this lovely rich shade of purple card for the background, to finish I've added a few pearls.

It's just a short post tonight, so enjoy your evening and see you soon, keep on keeping safe,

Humour for the CCC!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend and have some of the lovely weather that we are experiencing here in the Highlands. Beautiful sunshine, but frosty and very cold during the night, but that's okay.

Another fortnight has gone by and it's time for the girls from the Christmas Card Club to show their latest cards, and this time it's our lovely Rachel that's chosen the theme of Humour, here is what I've managed;

Here are the Hobby Art Camels, I love this image, such fun and I've used Prismacolours pencils to colour, and added just a little bit of Stickles to the Santa hat. I only managed one card this time, but I hope it will do Rachel, and I loved the challenge, so thank you.

Thank you too, to everyone who commented on my last post, I so much appreciated them.

Well, tomorrow is a big day for Scotland.....no not the Scottish Election, we have another eleven days for that, but the non essential shops are opening up, I think gyms are too, I'm hoping opticians are as I need my eyes tested. Once again it's not going to make all that much difference to us, other than having at long last our Velux blind  installed in the bed room, it was ordered before Christmas before the latest lockdown. So we'll see how it all goes.

That's me today, have a lovely Sunday whatever your plans and see you soon,

A Cocktail for a 30th Birthday!

Hi there, I hope all's well with you and that you have the lovely sunshine we have today....cool in the shade though.

Alistair is away to the Torridon range of mountains today, a bit further afield for him now that we can travel further, he's with his friend Derek, so no doubt they will have a smashing day, but come home exhausted.

I got my second jab on Monday and apart from a bit of a painful arm and a headache the following morning all's well, just so glad to have got it, especially as there are so many around the world who are not getting the vaccine, due to immoral, inhumane, and monster greed politics of the western countries. I get so angry about this kind of thing. A world pandemic and heads of government are playing a lottery with the vaccine. Anyway I consider myself fortunate.

Moreen, my DiL has asked me if I could make a card for her brother to give to his daughter for her 30th birthday. The remit was cocktails, dining out, gyms, here's what I came up with;

 I thought this image by Pink Gems would be just perfect for Anna, and the best thing of all was that I didn't have to colour it. It's a digital sheet so it was just a question of cutting it all out. I've decoupaged the cherries and the butterflies, and added Glossy Accents and glitter. I will make a box for it, and I've plenty of images left to decorated the box.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last card, your comment are always appreciated.

Did you know that today is National Tea Day? well I'm away to make myself a cuppa, put my feet up and have a read. Take care of yourselves and see you soon,

A Colourful Birthday!

 Hello there, how are you all doing?, I hope the weekend is a good one whatever your plans are. Mid April, the weeks and months are whizzing by, scary or what.

Scotland opened up with travel restrictions being lifted on Friday, we could travel outwith our local council areas. We here in the Highlands, live in a really big  council area which takes in the Islands, however, we just went 20 miles of so to Foyers which is along the side of Loch Ness. We thought going to Nairn or Rosemarkie which is the coast would be crowded. To get to Foyers we had to pass through Dores, a little village on the side of the Loch and it was mobbed. the amount of cars parked along the very narrow road was amazing. It made me wonder what the road at Loch Lomond would be like. Anyhooo, we travelled along to our destination, with the intentions of turning back if that was crowded, but we were lucky, we were he only people there, so we had a lovely woodland walk then sat at the side of the Loch and had our picnic, it was just lovely.

I have a card today,

 I've embossed a lovely Altenew stamp called Exotic Garden with WOW white EP on to water colour card and then used Altenew water colour paints to colour. Added a few gems and a sentiment from a Creative Stamping magazine. A little bow to finish.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post.

I go for my second jab tomorrow, i'll be glad to finally get it, although life will continue as it's been doing for me for the last 18 months or so lol.

Take care everyone and enjoy the remainder of the weekend,

I Want to Ride my Bicycle!

 Hello Everyone, hope all is good for you and that your weeks got off to a good start. After all the strange weather over the weekend, we have now settled down to some lovely sunshine, albeit, in the minuses during the night, in fact it's warm enough for Alistair to sit outside and chew the fat with our neighbour, I can hear them now sorting the world out.

We will loose our neighbours in a few weeks, as they are going into sheltered housing, having been on the list for years, they are delighted to have been offered one, all on the one level and with a little garden. We will be sad to see them go, but so pleased that they have somewhere that suits. The houses we are in are no good for anyone in the elderly age group and or with any sort of poor physical mobility, and it's something that we will have to be thinking about for ourselves.......eventually.

So Alistair is going to miss his political conversations with Donny, and I'll miss their beautifully tended garden, but nothing stays the same for ever.

My Son and his wife finally got their first vaccine on Saturday, I was so pleased for them, not that they are out and about much, as Moreen still works from home, but Damian has had to start going into his office a couple of days a week, but thankfully, they're stay at home bods, so will still take precautions.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my CCC post, I appreciate your visits and every comment.

I have my first finished page from Johanna Basford's new colouring book;

This is a beautifully illustrated book, such wonderful drawing to colour, and Johanna put it all together during lockdown, and she was telling us on one of her videos that her the books sales are 3rd. after Michelle Obama and Piers Morgans' book, although why anyone would want to buy his book is beyond my understanding, anyway no accounting for taste in my opinion, and Johanna's book was only launch on April 1st.

So what did I use to colour up this wonderful cycle, Derwent Softcolour and Procolour pencils, I used a petal stencil and DI in the background, I kept the background simple so as not to detract from the picture. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Well, that's it for today, remember to keep yourselves safe and see you soon,

Little Robin Redbrest of the CCC!

Hello Everyone, another weekend and time once again for the Christmas Card Club to show their cards. This time around it's Margaret otherwise known as Duchess who has chosen the theme of Robins . Now who doesn't like to see a Robin on a Christmas card???  So I managed three this time, and if I'd had more time I think I could have made more, lol.

First one up is an upcycled card which was too lovely to throw out;

I love the watercolour look of this little Robin and the paint splashes around him. I've added some glitter and gems. Sentiment is from a Creative Stamping magazine.

Next up;

An image from Hobby Art, I just love this Robin image, I've coloured with Copics, which is not too good, I seem to have forgotten how to colour with them, and paper from an old paper pad, some snow and a few gems, sentiment from a Tonic stamp set.

Finely;

Now this is the one I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The image is from Imagination Crafts, which I've had for years, but never opened. I don't think it was meant to be a Robin, however I gave the bird a red breast, hey presto it's a Robin, and to match his red breast I matted it on to red card and added a red gem. Sentiment is from Tonic. I've added a wee bit of glitter on some of the leaves.

So Margaret, thank you so much for this challenge, I did enjoy it.

So, for days we have had snow throughout the day, off and on, and it's been much colder too. Today's snow has been like little polystyrene balls. Thankfully at low level it's not lying.

I hope you are all well and getting your jabs okay, I'm still waiting for my second one, 19th April, so that will be the full 3 month since my first one.

We are having a treat tonight, Alistair a fish supper and it's a jumbo sausage supper for me and to hell with the diabetes, you have to live sometimes.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my last post, I do appreciate them.

So just going to schedule this for tomorrow, Sunday when the CCC goes live.

Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend

Autumn!

 Hello Everyone, and I hope your Easter holiday has been going well and you are enjoying it.

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, snow pelting down, it's not lasting at this level though, but the mountains are plastered with the white stuff once again. Last night saw the temperature at minus 3, so pretty cold. We haven't done anything, Alistair has been painting the fences, and I've been quite happy colouring in, and my new Johanna Basford book arrived. World within Worlds. The whole colouring community has been awaiting it, so lots of You Tube videos already out for inspiration.

Anyhoo, I've a completed page from one of my Rita Berman books

 I just love these books, there is one for every season, and this one is Autumn, I believe the translation is My Autumn Walk.

I've used Derwent Coloursoft and Procolour to colour the picture, and the quote is a stamp by Inkylicous, thought it was very apt. Finished of with a little bit of Stickles.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my Santa card, very much appreciated.

Well, the snow is on again, so it's a day for indoors and I've discovered a fabulous film on, The Fall of the Roman Empire, just my type of epic movie with a cast of thousands, none of this modern digital stuff, and it has a great cast,  Alex Guinness Sophia Loren, Christopher Plummer, and Steven Boyed in the lead roles, only thing is it's on BBC 2, so loo breaks and it's a very long film. Some popcorn would have been just the ticket, but I've none.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday, keep safe if you are able to get out and about more, and I'll see you soon,

When Santa!

 Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and looking forward to the Easter weekend. I think it's to be pretty good weather for most folks and we all have a bit more freedom for travelling, not much but every mile counts.

Thank you so much for your continued visits and the lovely comments that you leave.

I have a card today that I'm going to enter into Hazel's challenge;

https://www.fezziwigsfestivefrolics.com/2021/03/santa-says.html

My image and sentiment are from a Daisy Mae Designs, called When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney. and I've coloured it with Derwent Softcolour pencils and added some clear gems. The paper is from an older First Edition pad called Vintage. I'm not that happy with the lay down of the colouring, I didn't use my usual Strathmore paper and it seems the the paper I did use isn't suited to the pencils, or the other way around. The more I use colour pencils I'm realising how important what paper you use is. No all pencils suit all types of paper.

Anyway, we have no hard and fast plan for this weekend, if the weather is good we might go for a drive somewhere, but we'll be keeping safe whatever we do.

So that's me for now, take care of yourselves
