All the Flowers!

Hello Everyone, here we are at another weekend, weeks are going by so quickly. I hope your weekend is going well and that your weather is behaving itself.

We are off to the Edinburgh Jazz Festival next week and we are staying with friends Dale and Stewart. It's been a year since we've last seen them, in fact the last Jazz Festival, so we will have much to catch up on. I hope the weather is good, Edinburgh is totally miserable when it's raining especially if there's an East wind at the same time.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last post, always so kind and I do appreciate every comment you leave.

I have another card for a challenge;
 https://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/07/the-flower-challenge-34-pretty-pastels.html

All stamps from the wonderful Card-io Stamps and colours from Versacolour inks. I've added some glitter and a wobbly frame and backed on to pink card.

Now those of you who have been following for a while might remember that when I visit Dale I like to take a wee something hand made to give her, here's what I've come up with this time,

A little trinket box, I'm sure she'll find something to put into it. The little box comes from The Works and cost only £2, I've painted it with two shades of Starlight paint and used some of Imagination Crafts gorgeous Rice Paper and as Dale loves poppies, I had a sheet hiding away in my stash.
I little bit of lace and some gems to finish it off.  I'm awfully lucky with my friend as she loves everything I make for her, she even frames the cards I make for her birthdays and hangs them in her sewing room, isn't that just lovely.

Well it's Tour de France time again, yes hours and hours of watching these guys peddling like made all over the French countryside, mind you some of it is quite beautiful and as they have started going over the mountains that's spectacular. Thankfully, Alistair no longer sit ans watches wearing his cycling gear, I remember one he even had his helmet on. I suppose it the equivalent of a footy fan wearing his team colours, lol.  Thank goodness he doesn't wear his wet suit and accessories when watching the Blue Planet.
Anyway, the deal is, I don't complain about the Tour as long as I get to watch Downtown Abbey, which has started again and I've never seen the first series. His Socialist principles are upset by all that privileged nobility and the kowtowing servants. Me, well I just love the wonderful costumes and the equally wonderful Maggie Smith as the Dowager Duchess.

Rightio, that's me for now, so I'll say cheerio and see you when I get back, take care of yourselves,

your friend Dale is beautiful. Love the colour of the box,
which makes the gorgeous poppies 'pop.' I'm sure she will
just love it. It is so nice when friends appreciate the
time, love and thought you have put into making it, isn't it?
Have a wonderful time when you see your friend again.

Oh, Kate your floral wreath is stunning in these summery rainbow colors! I love the framing! And what a wonderful trinket box you created for your friend, Dale! It's so sweet and so thoughtful using her beloved poppies. She will treasure this and I'm sure it, too, will have a place of honor in her sewing room ... if not right out in the front parlor!

I loved the visual you painted for us of Alistair all geared up when watching the telly, lol! And I like the compromise you both have made. How wonderful that DA is making a comeback. I think Maggie Smith was brilliant as the Dowager I only wished she could have been featured more often! Enjoy and enjoy the Jazz Festival! Hugs, Darnell

Your flower card is lovely, such soft pretty colors. Love the little trinket box you made it is beautiful, I am sure she is going to love it. Enjoy your visit with dear friends and hte festival too. Nice to get away for a short time.

My husband used to sit forward in his chair when he was watching an intense hockey game, and his feet would go back and forth like he was skating. He didn't even know he was doing it (until I pointed it out laughing my head off) he was so into the game!!

Your card is lovely. Now why does the Edwardian lady with her garden spring to mind! . What a gorgeous trinket box you made for your friend. Bet she will love it to bits. I bought one of those boxes too but mine is still in its raw state. So much to make so little time in which to do it. Hugs Mrs A.

What a fabulous wreath of flowers Kate and using some of the beautiful little stamps from Card-io which always work so well for something like this, and what a super gift for your friend. I had to laugh at your comments about Alistair's passion for the Tour de France. My hubby does like watching the downhill skiing, but thankfully he doesn't own skiing gear so that won't be happening here...lol. x
