For Beautiful Eyes!

Hello to You All, I hope today finds you happy and well, but if not, lots of kind and healing thoughts are sent to you.

Sunny but awfully windy today, great for the washing going out, but I'm up to date there, thankfully. The weather map is showing some very hot spots over the country, so hope you are in some of them.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my last cards, love reading them and appreciate everyone of them.
A wee update on my GP telephone call of yesterday...... left me furious as it was all about selling me statins as my Cholesterol was higher than what they would like. OK of course it is as everything about my diabetes is out of kilter. I tried to tell him that it was my BG that was the worry, and if I could get some support there, I'm sure I could manage to get it all back into line.  Now years ago I did some research into statins and decided not to take then, well the doctor at that time was trying to put me on them even although my Cholesterol was excellent. apart from the scientific info about them, which included detrimental to BG levels and muscle pain, I also found out that GPs are offered incentives by the pharmaceutical   companies  for every patient they manage to prescribe statins for.

So that was a waste of time as far as I was concerned and just compounds my negative thoughts regarding some GPs. However, seeing the Practice Nurse this morning was different, she could see I was struggling, and has referred me to the Diabetic Clinic at the Hospital where the experts are. I was so relieved as this is what I felt I needed. I felt listened to by the nurse, and she knows that I am able to turn things around with a bit of tweaking, and although Cholesterol is important, it will come down when I'm tweaked.  Thanks for all your well wishes on this.

Now to my card;
I thought this lovely image based on the most wonderful Audrey Hepburn was just perfect for the new challenge at Stamping Sensations "one for the Girls".
It's an image from Stamping Bella and I've coloured it with Procolour Pencils from Derwent, with a bit of Sparkle Pen. The fab sentiment is from the same set.
Background paper is from Crafty Individuals Travels in Italy paper pad, and of course you can see that it's a Venice scene with the gondolas. A bit of ribbon and some gems and that's it.

So, that's me for today, I'm having a relaxing day now that I've got the diabetic review behind me, I must have been worrying a bit in the back of my mind.
Have a lovely day and see you soon,
I would like to enter my card into the http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/april-challenge.html

What a great card Kate. Super image - and you know what I am like for quotes and sentiments! Glad you felt a bit happier after seeing the nurse. As you say, once you get your blood sugars back under control the cholesterol will slip into place. I am very against statins yet GP's seem to want to foist them onto everybody, regardless of the side effects! Take care. Hugs Christine x

This is lovely, love the image. I hope you can get things back on track. My hubby recently went on a low dose of statins. He wasn’t keen but it should lower his cholesterol, and we eat a low fat diet already, and means less chance of a heart attack or stroke. Thankfully he isn’t diabetic. He has had no side effects at all but some do get muscle pain ai know, he is due a review next month so will see what his results are.

What a very striking creation Kate, the intensity of colours in the background is makes a wonderful backdrop for the lovey Audrey image. Perfect for our 'For the Girls' theme at Stamping Sensations challenge, my thanks for joining in.

I do hope the diabetic referral will offer some help, these GP telephone exchanges seem to be the norm these days, in some ways it's good that we can get quick contact but never quite the same as a face to face. All that said our local surgery is good and we can always get a same day appointment which I know is not the case in many parts of the Country. I think the statins are all about ticking the boxes, when we fall into the diabetic category they seem to like to throw all the 'expected' meds at us.

Apols I've not been by in a while, but think I am slowly getting back into the crafty groove.

I have this stamp and it's a beautiful image, looks gorgeous here on your lovely background.
Glad you could get some satisfaction from the nurse, it is very frustrating when some doctors don't listen, after all we know our own bodies and how they work best sometimes too and keeping away from taking extra pills if possible is always a bonus I think.

Hi Kate
What a lovely, colourful and chic looking card.
Hopefully the clinic will sort you out. Sometimes I feel we are more qualified to decide on our health management than the experts!
