Starlight Kingfisher!

Hello Everyone, another week has begun.. don't they go by so quickly.
I hope you are all well and had a good weekend. We were very quiet here, just the food shopping which is anything but exciting, and I hate having to do it.

I did get a wee bit of crafting done, and some of my latest socks inched up a bit.

Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments, I do appreciate each and everyone of them.

Now, I have a confession to make to my team mates on the Christmas Card Club, and I'm sure they will have noticed it but been too polite to mention my mistake.  I can't spell !!, I used to be able to, I blame all this IT stuff and never writing letters, anyway, the word I got wrong was the plural of ski, I spelt it skies, which of course is the plural of sky. What a numpty eh! It was when I noticed that no one had added any, well OK something not many folk would have including me, or so I thought, but there were plenty of wonderful skies. However, everyone had produced wonderful cards, and some even had sleighs which I added as I reckoned that the ski part might have been a struggle, so thank you one and all ladies.

For today's card I'm back to a CB image;
The Kingfisher from the Kingfisher Song set which I've coloured with Starlight Paints and used DI for the background. I've kept it very simple without embellishments or sentiment, I just wanted the beautiful bird to be the focus.  Do you know I've never seen a Kingfisher, and would count myself luck if I had.

No puppies today, Damian working from home, so I've not got a rush to fix dinner and get out to choral rehearsal, so I'll have a lovely afternoon reading, I'm in the middle ot the Wars of the Roses just now, Ravenspur by Conn Iggulden, I love these historical novels.

Cheerio for now and see you soon,

A lovely card with a gorgeous image Kate. Wit reference tothe CCC challenge I assumed you actually meant "skies" so included them in my cards. It was only when I read your commetn on my post that I realised you must have meant skiing. Still, there were some fabulous cards!! Hugs Christine xx

Just fab Kate. I saw a Kingfisher whilst out walking along a canal when we lived in our previous house. Stunningly beautiful. It was there for a few years then it just disappeared.

Wow Kate this is a lovely card. Your kingfisher is lovely but I absolutely love your background!.

I'm with you on the spelling thing. I used to be a copy taker with a newspaper typing out when the reporters read in their copy. I typed at 80 wpm in those day and I think my spelling was good. Now I'm old both are rubbish! Not saying your spelling is rubbish at all - just mine! I'm sure there's no such job now!!! Hugs, Barbxx

Hi Kate,
what a very beautiful card and your background is super, and of course that glorious Kingfisher is gorgeous.
I not sure but I think I made the same spelling mistake too.
Now I also used to be very good at spelling, but for some reason maybe age realted I seem to finding myself spelling lots of words wrong.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Beautiful colours in your Kingfisher Kate and the background is fantastic. Love Conn Iggulden, just have the last one in the War of the Roses to get, did you read the Genghis Khan series hubby picked them up in hardback from a charity shop for 50p each, don't think they had even been opened, enjoyed them immensely worth a read.

Hi Kate
Ahhh ...... now it's clicked about the skis and skies lol! I blame predictive text!
Your kingfisher is stunning. I think you must be Choccy Bs elite customer. They should have you on a DT.
Take care.

I, for one, didn't pick up on your ski - I read skies (but I missed the sleigh too!). Don't think it was a problem for any of us!! We all join in for the fun & inspiration. What a fantastic background you've created for this gorgeous bird. We had a species of Kingfisher when I lived in Florida, don't think he was colored so brilliantly as your handsome fella, and it looks like he is enjoying a blaze of a sunset sky over some Everglades water! This is just stunning Kate. Good JOB! TFS

Wow Kate! You have been busy since I last visited making lots of cards, but this is my favourite. I just adore that Kingfisher and the spectacular background you have made in those gorgeous shades of blue and red and I adore that CB bird and I am definitely going to buy this set myself. I have never seen one either but live in hope. We did once manage to see an otter at quite close quarters which is something I will never forget, probably a once in a lifetime sighting. I do love those gorgeous socks you made to, that yarn is fabulous and I adore the colours. Hope the choral singing is going well. x
