Lilac Birthday !

Good Morning....just, I hope you are all well and that your day is going well.
Thank you for the lovely comments on my last card and box of course, I do appreciate each comment and the time it takes to visit my blog. Let's face it time is so valuable, not to mention precious.

I had a lovely time wit Hazel and Patricia at the Sheena Douglass demo on Tuesday, it's brilliant to see her in action, and she is an absolute hoot with all her anecdotes. Sheena was demonstrating new foil products which will be coming out soon, and they looked amazing.  I'm afraid I didn't take photos to show you, it was all pretty busy and noisy and I found it difficult to hear and concentrate on what Sheena was doing, nevertheless I enjoyed the day.
Boy was it long or was it long!! I spent yesterday recovering and lack of sleep isn't the main concern of a really early start, it also plays havoc with my insulin injections and eating pattern and takes a day or two to get back to normal, whatever normal is.

So on to my card for today;
This is the card I made for Amanda from myself and Alistair.
The background card is pale lilac, not showing up too well, and the card is made using one of the new Papermania emboss and cut folders. You can just make out the pretty lady embossed in the corner, and the little cutout butterflies, which I put silver card behind. The sentiment is Papermania too, a bow, a few gems and blooms and job completed.
Amanda sent a message to say she loved it as she did with the one I made for her mum and dad to give her.

I'm so disappointed in our weather as it's taken a turn to lower temps, and heating is back on.
The other disappointing thing is that the car failed it's MOT and is at this moment in the car hospital, and I believe the bill will be around £300+, and the tax is due too. Oh joy!!  Still that's life if you want a car and it's only just now that it is costing money, it is 7 years old, mind you it's the labour that costs the most.

That's all from me just now, hoping to get around your lovely blogs as the day goes on.
Take care and see you soon,

Hi Late, Sheena is such a talented and funny lady. Spunds like you enjoyed it. I love your pretty soft lilac card today. Weather here turned chilly a couple of days ago too, don't think much of putting the heating on but refuse to be cold.

Hello Kate, glad you have got over your day away.
It was great to see you again, we did not get much time to do the usual "chatting"
Sheena was great to see, it could have been a better set up but Hey! Ho! it was fun anyway.
Your card is beautiful, love everything about it.

Such a very soft and pretty card Kate, the subtle pinks make for a very delicate creation.

Hope your car gets sorted, your are right it's the labour that racks up the costs.

Hi Kate,
what very beautiful card.
That lady looks so elegant as does your wonderful card.
The embossing and cutting item used sounds wonderful.
Love the fab lilac also.
I can tell you it's not much different down south as it's so cold.
We have storage heaters, and I turned them off when the weather was really warm.
Now if I turn them back on they take 24 hours to warm back up, and then the weather might have warmed up again.
Just wish we had gas central heating, because I hate these darn things, and if you put an ordinary heater on it costs the earth.
So sorry to hear about your poorly car.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Such a pretty card Kate and the embossing folder that you've used is gorgeous. I love the embellishments and the ribbon and butterflies finish it off perfectly. I really like the oval aperture too as it frames the sentiment beautifully. The weather has been shocking this week, it's rained here every day and we have the heating back on too. Sorry to hear about your poorly car. I dread MOTs and I'm always quite relieved when they are out of the way for another year. It's so frustrating when you think about how much crafting stuff you could buy with £300+ ;) take care of yourself and I'll be back to visit again soon. Crafty hugs, Sandra X

Love the lilac background against the white embossed card it is a beautiful gentle romantic shade so right for the dreamy embossed figure. Hope you get your diabetes and insulin back on track Kate. As for cars I dread MOT time we usually go to a local guy for service and MOT but he's working on his own at present so not servicing cars, and after poor poor service from a dealership I dread going back there even though the cars have a lifetime warranty

Oh lucky you to meet up with these 2 sisters to enjoy a S.Douglas workshop. Can just imagine what fun you 3 had, what nifty tricks you've learned. Loving this graceful and elegant card. I've seen that EF demonstrated on a Youtube, and wondered what I'd do with it. Now I can see! It's lovely the way you've used it, and at first I thought the border treatment was scoring...then a closer look, it is slender ribbon. More elegance. Great colors, great design. TFS & Have a great wkend.
