Daisy, Daisy!

Hello Everyone and I hope your Holiday weekend is going well, and for those who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter!!

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments on my last card, each and everyone of them is most welcome and appreciated.  A warm welcome to Shaz fro Oz who is my latest Follower and not only that but my 100th one, I'm pure dead chuffed.  I would have reached that number if blogger hadn't been playing silly beggers and deleting folk who were already following me.  Does anyone notice any real difference from Blogger's interference?? I don't.

I did plan a bit of Candy giveaway when I reached the 100 mark and I will get that organised within the next week or so, so watch this space.

I have a mixture of my two passion to show today,   first my card;

I've used a super lovely stamp set created by the very talented John Lockwood for Creative Expressions and I was given then by a lovely Blog Friend, Mrs. Duck. I wish I'd managed to photograph the card better.
The stamps are brilliant to use and I also used the new Colour Cloud to ink up the background to the main daisy.

Now as it happened, I'd knitted a cowl for Ang with a Daisy stitch, so the two just came together at the right time, and as she has both in her keeping I am now able to share them;

The colour of the cowl is actually purple, though it looks a bit blue here, I hope it will be many months before it need to be worn.

I've started a pair of mitts with colour work, and I'm hoping it's not too ambitious, I've had it back a couple of times and I've not knitted past the cuff yet, I'll persevere though.

We had the most awful rain and high winds last night, bad enough to keep us awake, so today has been a slow day, with a bit pf pottering here and there, but every time I sit down I can feel my eyes closing, mind you it's been three nights since I last had any decent sort of sleep. I do envy people who sleep like logs, I long ago lost my sleep pattern, but I did think that having stopped working and  that as my stress lessened I would sleep better, hasn't really gone that way though.

That is me for now, off to inspect the oven and see how the roast is coming along, enjoy the rest of your Sunday and see you soon,

Gorgeous card KAte. And since Ang loves purple the super cowl will be very welcome! We have had some high winds and rain too. Typical Bank Holiday weather. Although Good Friday was absolutely gorgeous. Hugs Christine xx

I love the card you have made and lovely to see an unusual shape used. The cowl looks very snug. Given the weather we've been having I think she'll be wearing it sooner than later! My husband always laughs at me as I never leave the house without something round my neck, it helps with the pain, he just doesn't understand why I need quite so many scarves. It's got to the stage where when we are out shopping he shouts "move away from the scarves and no one gets hurt" very embarrassing! Cara x

The weather is about the same here too Kate, no surprise for a Bank Holiday. Hope you are enjoying your Easter Sunday but I gather you are suffering from the effects of the lost hour.
Super card and gift, your friend will be thrilled.

Happy Easter, Kate, and congrats on your 100th follower (Shaz is a delightful lady too). I was hoping to reach a goal but then Blogger started dropping my followers, so I've given up thinking of it. I need to get my blogaversary candy done & posted too. Love your pretty & fresh spring card. What a nice design layout to show off the sweet image. The cowl is gorgeous, looks so cuddly & warm too. I'm in awe of your knitting skills. To answer your cardinal question: yes we see them all year long. Our robins disappear over the winter, but returned about the end of Feb. In Florida, we had robins all year long, but I didn't see cardinals (they may have been around, but I worked and had no time to watch for birds!). TFS & have a great week. Hugs

Hi Kate
Well, I can testify to the gorgeous purple and softness of the cowl (I have a jealous Nesta lol!) and I knew you would do something wonderful with John's stamps.
The card is sitting on my dresser looking at me as I type.
Thank you again for my marvellous pressies.
Congratulations on your 100 followers. I lost about 3 with this Google nonsense but have since gained 4 new lovely folk so alls good.
Happy Easter.

You're not the only one who has lost your sleep pattern Kate, I used to always get 7 or 8 hours a night no bother but just lately it's been 4 or 5, most bizzare.
I love your daisy card, the sentiment is the sort of day I had yesterday!
The cowl looks stunning too, I'm very impressed with the stitches. I have tried a cuff style with crocheting but ended up putting it down, complicated.com!
The weather is beautiful today here, I hope you've got the sunshine too?

Hugs Erika. x

It's a lovely card, Kate, love the shape and the pretty colors. The cowl is awesome. Knitting is probably the only craft I ever tried and completely failed at. I crocheted, but knitting just did me in, so i envy the beautiful things you show us that you have made. You do beautiful work.

Hugs
Sue

Had to pop over to see what Mrs Duck was talking about - pretty card and the knitting certainly looks good and should be warm to wear. Hopefully we should be able to put our warm scarves away for a while soon.

Hi, Kate, took me a while to find out where to comment, but I persevered. I love your octagonal card, and your knitting is beautiful - nothing is fun when you hurt, I'm currently struggling with arthritis in one hip and my right thumb, so crafting is uncomfortable at the moment. I don't seem to get to visit so many blogs as I did, but it isn't fair if you lose bloggers!

I've come over from the Duck Pond to see the really lovely card and cowl you made for Ang! Well done, Kate! And how nice of Ang to provide you with such fabulous NBUS to use!! I love this community!

Congratulations on your 100th follower and how fun that it was Shaz! And to answer your question, no, I have noticed nothing changed since Blogger swept 66 of my followers under the rug without a by your leave or who they were! That, at least, would have been nice to know! But we can't do more than complain, so we might as well chins up and carry on, thankful it wasn't worse!

Take care and I hope it's no longer howling considering it's hard enough for you to sleep without that! Hugs, Darnell

Goodness gracious you have been a busy gal! My husband doesn't sleep well - he usually takes a wee nap after lunch or falls asleep in his chair at night.
You daisy card is just as sweet as can be and Kate - you make me want to learn how to knit. I used to crochet a little but it has been so long I have probably forgotten how.
I love your knitting!
