Black and Red for Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day and hello from a snowy Inverness. Yes we woke up to about 3 inches of snow this morning, a real winter wonderland and not expected, as we had looked at the weather report last night so that we could plan a walk and a nice lunch. So that was scuppered to a degree.  We thought we would go to Culbin Sands and hopefully see the colony of seals that laze around the beach and then head to Brodie's for a Valentine lunch, never daunted though we still made it out to walk around the new Campus of our University, it's a lovely walk and usually there are swans but not today, off to warmer climb  I dare say.  Beautiful walk though as the sun was shining, no lunch though, back home for a bit of a fry up.

So how is your day going?? I hope everyone is well and whatever your doing your having a good time.

It will come as no surprise that I'm showing the card I made for Alistair;
A few heart dies which were free with the new Crafters Companion Magazine, the sentiment is also from the magazines free goodies. Sara Davis Signature embossing folder and Creative expressions Gilding Wax in Red. My Valentine was delighted with it, but more especially with the little heart chocolates from M&S.

Mind you far from cosying up on a cold and snowy Valentine's Day, I've lost him to the climbing wall at the local sports centre, however he did ask was there anything he could help me with (I was up to my eyes in spag bol sauce), as he was halfway out the front door clutching his climbing gear. I thought that in the spirit of the day it was better to let him go, he was as happy as a sand boy....whatever that is.  No matter how old men are, there is always a Peter Pan element to their natures.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my Owl card and so pleased I made you smile.

Enjoy your Sunday, and I'll see you soon,

Your card is lovely Kate. What super freebies you got with that magazine. Glad Alistair enjoyed his card and his choccies and hopefully his day climbing. Bruce also went out today to an electronics show. I think it's lovely that none of us really grow up and can enjoy our hobbies so much.

We usually go out for a roast on Sunday but today it's a Chinese takeaway so I'm happy too. Hugs, Barbxx

Hi Kate
Wow, this is stunning. Its definitely one for the guys as its romantic but not fru fru and girlie.
Mine had choccies too but the most adventurous he gets is putting the bins out lol!
Have visions of you both doing a Lady and the Tramp with your spaghetti, ahhhhhhhh!

Beautiful card Kate -- I love to read about your life - you use such unusual sayings - must be the vernacular of Scotland. A fry up must mean to fix lunch?
You are more active than I am - how is the new diet going?
Have a good week - it is cold here but no snow.

Have you still got snow Kate? Ours has all gone.
Glad to hear hubby liked his chocolates, I had some too. ;)
A lovely classical styled Valentine's card, great heart combo.
I hope you wrapped up warm for your walk, brrr! It's been cold. Bring on the Spring.

Hugs Erika. x

Loving the longer shape of this card (as I tend to go with the usual shapes so I like this one very much). Pretty embossing (but not too frilly for a DH), and like the way you've done the slight shading over this white. The layout looks perfect to display the hot red hearts, and it's just the perfect card for Mr. A. I know he loved it. Sorry the snow messed up your plans, but sounds like you still had a good day's outing in some sunshine. TFS & Hugs

A beautiful Valentine. Love the color combo, one of my favs. Your hearts look so pretty on the white and embossed background too. Love the long card, don't know why we don't do that more often.

Our dog does the same thing, always when you are trying to do something that it is an emergency that she go out. I even bought a shirt for my hubby that says "plans for the day, let the dog in, let the dog out"! HA, what would we do without them though!

Hugs
Sue
