Bobble Hat Man!

Hello to Everyone, I hope all is well with you today and you are enjoying your day.
Well, here we are at mid week already, and almost at the end of January, time going so fast, wish it could be slowed down a little.

Dark and dreary today, lights on from mid afternoon, it sort of makes one jus wont to hunker down with  a good book.

Well after 5 years of crafting I have finally got my craft room, Yeah!!! it's in the spare bedroom, we got rid of the bed and I found a sort of desk to work on. It is in fact a dressing table that came from one of the hotels in the town, heavy piece of kit it is too. It means we have our dining table back and the living room looks better having all my stuff away from it. I'll bore you with photos later. It is a work in progress though as I still need to find other storage items, but I'm fair excited that at last I have somewhere to work. I will have to share the room with Alistair as he has his computer there and of course as you all know he is writing his climbing stories,  which reminds me I have a 15 page of A4 to edit for him, I've got to steel myself to do it, not my kind of reading material, call it a labour of love.

I do have a card to share today;
This was the Christmas card I made for Alistair using a stamp fro LC, the paper is from them too. They came along with the LC magazine which is full of great ideas and there is always a free stamp.
The sentiment stamps are from Woodware and I've used SN Alcohol pens to colour the images.

My next photo is of one of the knitting projects I've finished recently;
The Pattern is called "Fisherman's Wife" Cowl, or neck warmer, whatever you want to call it.
Knitted in Super Chunky yarn and size 10 needles. I found 3 buttons in my box that I suited just fine. This was going to be put away for a Christmas gift, but I decided I wanted to wear it, and it is lovely and cosy.

Now here is what I'm really excited about,
Sorry about so many photos today, but I just had to show you. I'm still rearranging and fine tuning, but I guess it's a Forth Road Bridge situation........you're never finished.

So before I go, I just wanted to thank you for all the lovely comments on my last card, and I do appreciate the time it takes everyone in visiting the blogs.

Alistair is on the dinner making tonight so that gives me time to visit you.
Take care and keep cosy,

Hi Kate, I'm so happy for you. You are so going to love having a craft room. It all looks so tidy and organised. Mine cabin was like that when I moved in three years ago. My goodness you should see it now. The secret is not to fill it up because you have the space. However being a good crafter I'm sure you will. Have lots and lots of fun and show us some piccies this time next year!

Your card is lovely and I really like your neck warmer. I can see why you decided to keep it. It looks so snuggly. Barbxx

I love that cow. I'm going to have to do something similar because I really do feel the cold round my neck these days. I'm sure Alistair loved his very different card at Christmas. Congratulations on your craft room. It is so much better having a dedicated area in which to work. Mind you when it's very cold I must admit to moving stuff into the kitchen and making use of the woodburner. Hugs from Christine xx

Wow! You have been busy Kate, such fabulous card - a super image and great sentiment. Your cowl is gorgeous, it looks very complicated.
How lovely to have your own craft room, it does make life so much easier - you won't need to pack everything away all the time.

A lovely card Kate, the stamp is so versatile and could be used for many other occasions too.
You will love being in your new room, once you get it how you want it there will be no coming out of there. It's great to have your own space to concentrate and then of course you can leave everything just as you want and shut the door on it. I hated it when I was in the middle of a card and had to clear away for dinner.
Happy Crafting

Lovely card Kate. Fab scarf. What about that craft room then!! Really excited for you. Some times the fun is just sorting through your stash and organising it. Or maybe that's just the neurotic organiser in me!! lol! Anyway, have fun.

Kate, love that you got a space of your own, now you can leave a project and come back to it without feeling like you left a mess on the dining room table. Love the card you made for Alistair, wonderful image and sentiments. I wouldn't give that scarf away either, it is wonderful. Love it, so pretty and the buttons looks fabulous! Have fun getting your new craft room sorted and enjoy.

Hugs
Sue

Oh Kate how exciting, loving the look of your new craft room. Be warned you don't tend to venture out once settled! ;)
I love your Christmas card, especially the tinsel quote, LOL, brilliant.
Your neck warm looks just the job at this time of year I can totally understand why you kept it.

Hugs Erika. x

Hi Kate, so happy you now have your crafting space. Looks great.
Love the cowl. Bet is well used this winter. I hope you are a bit drier than we are...it may ease up to torrential tomorrow. I even had to make the dog a waterproof coat.
Sorry I haven't commented for a while, I have been doing more crafting, not sitting at the computer. That way, lots more getting made. Wedding invites for my God daughter, and a patchwork quilt for her too, among other things.
Keep warm and dry

Gorgeous card, love the knitting and so pleased you now have a craft room, I love mine. I have all sorts of storage in my craft room, the coloured drawers from Hobbycraft are invaluable, can get so much in them for little floor space.

Well done on getting a craft room Kate. It looks super tidy, not like mine, I would be too embarrassed to show you the photos, lol! Your knitted cowl looks fabulous, and very cosy, I have a couple of crocheted ones on the go, which I am hoping to finish while I am recuperating. Judith xx

Thanks for letting us into your craft room, Kate. So tidy and organised...so unlike mine! So that door will remain shut for now. LOL!
