Forest Robin for the Christmas Card Club!

Good Evening Everyone, I hope your Saturday has been a good one and that you are all tickity boo!
It's been a mixture of weather here in Inverness, and quite a bit cooler in the afternoon, but after doing some food shopping I was indoors for the rest of the day, having a great time knitting and card making.  Unfortunately my friend Karen called off our breakfast date as she hadn't been too well through the night.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my Xstitch pictures, and for your advice on how to get the creases out. I wasn't able to get frames of the sizes I needed, so I've decided to enquire at the framing shop about cost of having them framed there.  I think it's pretty expensive though, but at least it will be framed right.

We are doing something quite different tomorrow night.  Our friend Sean gave us tickets for a play at Cawder Castle (of Macbeth fame), as he now can't manage to go. It is performed outside in the gardens and it's Romeo and Juliet, played traditionally by an all male cast, the love scenes should be especially interesting.  Anyhow, the idea is that we take a picnic and wine or something to drink, and sit around being very pretentious.  We went to a performance like this a good few years back, and watching the audience was of interesting,  lots of "Darlings", all dressed the part with linen suit's and panama hats, and that was just the guys, floaty dressed and and parasoles and champagne.

We will be going with warm clothes and a flask of coffee and profiteroles from M&S Dine in for Two, and we'll think we're so decadent.

Well, it's time again for the CCC to show their cards and this time the theme is to have a Cardinal Bird or another Christmas Bird on your card.  Now as I don't know what a Cardinal bird looks like, I had to settle for a Robin;
This theme was chosen by Mary, and for it I've used a decoupaged Robin, matted on to Gold Tattered Lace Paper, Green Core'dination card embossed with a Papermainia Snowflake Folder, Gold ribbon and Gold Gems from my Box, Sentiment an old one from last year's stash.  Lots of Star Dust.

Please have a look at what the CCC Members have made, there's bound to be gorgeous cards.

Going to schedule this for Sunday morning.  I'll say good night and see you soon,

A really gorgeous Christmas card Kate. The decoupage is fabulous as it 'pops' off the page.
Now I hope you have a lovely time at the Castle but make sure you take three blankets: one for the ground and two for you and DH - it sounds like it might be chilly tonight. I love your descriptions of the male members watching the play. You have made them sound male birds with all that flash of colour lol! Karen x

Wowie Kate, what a GORGEOUS card. You knocked this out of the park. Definitely a keepsake. Have fun at the play. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Well this was certainly a fun post! All male actors and love scenes - I am afraid I am not a very modern woman!!! But I can tell you and it will be our secret. I would have dearly loved to be able to go with you two! I have never had profiteroles before but I have seen pictures of them and they look delightful!
You card is lovely now I am going to have to send to a picture of a Cardinal. They are all year round birds where I live. Will do my best to get you some real live pictures from my bird feeder!

Loving your lovies comment, LOL, I've always fancied going to one of those performances but I don't know whether I could persuade hubby. He might go now if only to people watch!
It sounds like good fun and good to hear you took your M and S meal too, noomm!
Loving your little robin card, another traditional perfect Christmas card to add to your selection.
Enjoy your week, hugs Erika. x

Lovely card Kate and great little image. We went to an outdoor concert last summer and it was similar. Some people dressed to the nines with very fancy food - we just has an ordinary picnic and bottle of wine and not too dressed up. Luckily for us because it lashed with rain - felt sorry for the ladies in their long frocks which got wet indeed!! Hugs Christine xx

Oh poor you, never having the joy of a beautiful red cardinal to see. However, your sweet Robin is just as lovely and I like the way he sparkles on this wonderful decoupaged card. All God's birds are gorgeous creatures, and SCarolina has some sweet robins right along with our cardinals. Loved the pine branches that help keep Little Robin all toasty & warm during the winter, and the pretty gauzy bow trim. Your outing sounds like such fun, and having a picnic on the grounds of an ancient castle is something I will never get to enjoy! So enjoy it twice as much as you normally would, once on my behalf!!!! TFS & interpreting my bird theme so wonderfully well. Hugs.

Kate, I thought I was already a follower here, but didn't see my picture in your list, so I joined as a new follower. Blogger let me do this, so guess it didn't 'take' my first attempt! Such fun being in the CClub with you. Hugs
