Hi there, I hope you are all well and not suffering from the heat or the awful thunder storms and floods. We here in Inverness seem to have got off lightly, but there has been an awful incident near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire where a train has been derailed and at the moment some pretty critical injuries, seems like it may have been bad weather conditions. So, heart goes out to all involved in this be it rescue workers or injured passengers and staff.
The Aberdeen city center is having it hard just now as it is still in lockdown, and I doubt that the schools would have gone back today, so a train incident is just not needed.
Anyhoo, something a little different today Socks,
This pair was knitted for Damian's Christmas last year, he loves hand knitted socks.
This little pair of trainer socks was for a friend's birthday earlier this year.
And is pair are mine. It takes me ages to knit a pair, knitting takes it toll on the old fingers, so for Christmas gifts I have to start well in advance lol.
So I hope you like them. Thank you so much for your continued visits and the lovely comments you leave. Take care everyone and see you soon,

Yes heard the awful news about the derailment on the lunchtime news x. Aberdeen is sure having its fair share of bad news x.
What fabulous socks Kate and I am sure Damian and your friend loved them? x. Sorry about the old fingers but wow are they so worth doing....They are wonderful and so cozy looking x.
Fabulous hand knitted socks Kate. I'm melting and you are showing woolly socks ... lol! Thoughts and prayers are with those injured, and their families. Hugs Christine xx
They look fabulous Kate and I am sure the recipients will love them.

Oh WOW, these socks look really lovely, although a bit too cosy for today!! Think we have our hottest day of the year!!! Its scary Aberdeen being in lockdown, bit too close for comfort!!! Fingers crossed that things ease again soon. Hazel xx
What wonderful socks, I knit a lot of things but I have not knitted socks.
We have not had any rain so far it’s hot hot hot today, my garden is really crying out fir rain..
Socks always strike me as being very difficult with all the shaping etc, but these are all fantastic Kate! We heard about the derailment too and although devastating for those people and their families, luckily there were very few on board being extremely early. As far as we have heard it could have been down to a landslip, but no doubt we will hear in due course whether this is right or not. x
I absolutely LOVE your socks, Kate! These are so beautiful and handmade from the heart is ALWAYS the best! These kinds of gifts at holidays always are my favorites - and my kids try. I got table place runners, mat places, even oven mits from my daughters that sew! and a quilt! You are awesome! xo
Hi Kate
I heard about the derailment on the news and saw some awful pictures .. .. those poor people and their families.
Great socks Kate. Not something I have ever tried to knit.
Very warm and muggy here and hoping for some rain to clear the air and green up the lawns again!!!
Take care and keep well
Love Jules xx

Oh I could do with these gorgeous socks for me in our cold nights here. We have had storms, loads of rain last week today isn't too bad. xx
I mentioned your yesterday when I read out about the accident and said I knew it was in your part of the Country, dreadful.
You have been busy with all these socks and I'm sure come winter will be very welcome.

I saw it on the news so very very sad...
I love socks I have a huge collection but no handmade ones, these are so cool, hugs Pops x
I LOVE your socks Kate, something I've never done, although in my childhood I did darn my elder brothers socks LOL
It was awful to see the train crash on the news, and that 3 people had died, just awful scenes there are of it and how terrifying it must have been for everyone. We've got off lightly with the thunder and lightning although we did get nearly 2 hours last night, but with little rain with it.
Take care and keep safe Kate.

Wow, you are so talented! LOVE your handmade socks! I'm not be able to make works as these
Sad news in your country! :(
Terrible news about the train. Awful weather some places. We have just had the heatwave, hated it. Bit of thunder and some rain this morning, now clearing out. Hoping for more rain. Your socks are brilliant. I can’t wear wool, makes me itch.
Hi Kate,
your kinitting is so lovely and wonderfully created.
Love all the wonderful colour wool used.
I used to knit such a lot at one time but nowadays I find it hurts too muc to do it.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
What fabulous socks and I am sure they are warm and cozy to wear.
Hugs diane
Such a shock about the train derailment, seems to be one thing after another. Those socks look lovely and snuggly, you are multi talented ! Stay safe x
Loving your handmade socks Kate. They
always look so professionally made. I
did attempt to knit a pair of socks with
4 needles when at school....a total disaster
lol! was forever unpicking and trying again!
Don't think I ever finished them lol! Have
a lovely weekend Kate.
Hugs Jennifer xx.
I heard the awful news about the train accident :(
These socks all look super cosy. Not long before we will need 'em! x
You're so talented. I understand socks are complicated to make. Your socks look so lovely . . . especially the pair you made for yourself.
Take care. Stay safe.

You have such talent with knitting. I am hopeless and can not keep my tension even...resulting in items that look quite awful!
Love all your socks...
Beautifully knitted socks Kate. A true work art done on pins. Hugs Rita xx
I did hear the very sad news of the train accident, so tragic anytime but especially during COVID, I hope families are allowed to visit their loved ones
On a much lighter notes your socks are beautifully knitted Kate and I know what you mean about the length of time they take due to your painful hands. I'm knitting myself a jacket and after numerous stops and breaks, wish I'd not started, but, I won't give up and will battle to the end!

Your socks are fabulous and you do really nice work.
Oh Kate, your socks are wonderful. Love the yarn choices too. My Grandma and my Godmother both knitted. My Gram made all the Grandkids a pair of mittens and put a dollar inside one for Christmas every year.
Hugs
