Seaside Scene!

Hello to You All, I hope you are well and having a good weekend. Teallach and yours truly are having a bit of peace and quiet as Alistair is away with a friend to Glencoe......camping. Mad as a box of frogs I think. Still Alistair has his most excellently warm sleeping bag and Ken has the tee pee and they have a box fire, a bottle of the Amber Nectar so they should be okay.  I did notice Alistair has his ice axe with him which concerns me a bit that he will be ice climbing, but there wouldn't be any stopping him, so I don't mention it.  I do however, trust his judgment about what conditions are safe and what aren't.

So, having the home to myself, I've been catching up on Call the Midwife, and boy am I wrung out, I watched two episodes back to back, ended up with a pile of soggy tissues beside me.  What marvellous stories which never fail to bring up strong emotion, that's why I prefer to watch on my own. Do any of you watch the series? I think the writers have covered just about every heartbreaking and joyous issues that there is.

I'd like to welcome a new follower Jannet, who is the March GDT for Crafty Individuals, and you can find her blog here if you have time do pop in and see the most wonderful creations she makes.

A big thank you to everyone who visits and who leaves comments too.

I have a card made with Chocolate Baroque stamps today;
From the Seaside Scenes stamp set and coloured with watercolour paints, I decided to keep a simple colour pallet using shades of yellow and grey. I've used Pixie Powders to make a background and all matted on to black card.  It's going to my BiL Jim for his birthday later this month.

It's been a dull, smirry rainy day, so going to be dark a wee bit earlier, I have to say I'm glad I'm indoors. So I will  love you and leave you, and hope you have a lovely evening, take care and see you soon,

Great card for your BIL Kate. That sun is a very welcome sight ... lol! Oh my goodness I cried so much at Call The Midwife!!! I watch on my own too but that's because John is interested. The writer, Heidi, is absolutely wonderful. Roll on the next series. I might just have got back to normal by then! I do wish the series were longer though. I know how you feel when Alastair goes off like this. I used to be just the same - except whenever John went off to Scotland or to the Alps I had no doubts that he would be ice climbing. He just loved it!!!Hugs Christine xx

miserable day here too Kate, was all set for a day in Inverness when I remembered we had a parcel being delivered, never mind we'll make it another day. Love the setting sun, cheered me up seeing it, a beautiful card Meg xx

I watch Midwife, and some of them are tearjerkers. I'm finding that I prefer the earlier series to the later ones, though. Guess I got more invested in the characters. I especially liked the nurse played by Miranda Hart. Oh my, Alistair is quite the adventurer (not being one myself - at all! I'm impressed). Don't think I'd want to camp out in the cold - definitely not do ice climbing. The cool tones of the gray & yellow on this pretty lighthouse seaside scene are very soothing. Makes me think of a misty day at the shore. Terrific watercolor work too. TFS & enjoy your Me time.

Wonderful card Kate, I love the scene and the delicate colours

Alistair is absolutely as mad as a bag of frogs! I can't believe anyone would want to camp in this weather but each to their own, I've never been an adventurous type lol!! I hope he's back home safe and sound now

Beautiful card and imagery - I'm down on the Essex coast so always love a nice seaside theme.
Wondering if all your snow has gone up there - heard talk of more coming this weekend so looks like Spring on hold maybe for a while longer.
