Poinsettia!

Hello Everyone, it's a lovely sunny day here, hoping it's good where you are too.

Are you all well?,  certainly hope that you are as it's getting to that time of the year when cold and flu are on the go. Having diabetes I am able to have the flue injection, but every year I ponder about having it as I don't as a rule suffer from all that many cold or flu for that matter. Only twice in my life have I been floored with a flu type virus and way before diabetes was present. One of the times I was delirious and thought little men were trying to upend the bed to get me out of it. Funny the things that stay in your mind. My friend was looking after me and said I was the most awful patient. I think it was because I apparently kept trying to get out of bed. It was the last time she offered any help in that way lol.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last card, I love reading what you have to say and of course it's encouragement too.
Here is what I have to share today;
Another of Chocolate Baroque Big Background stamps, it's Poinsettia and I've embossed it in white EP and used the resist technique with Oxides, Matted with black and red card and added some ribbon, gems and sparkle, which of course doesn't show up CB sentiment on velum. I felt that such a lovely image didn't need much more to it, it speaks for it's self.

Our Teallach is not a happy pussy cat, there is competition  for his territory from a new cat on the block.  We have new neighbours, a lovely young couple and they have a beautiful cat. Now, this is quite an elderly cat and was an inside one until the move her mum Angela informed me. As they have a fenced off back garden and because of her age, it was thought that she would stay put as jumping the fence would be too much. Well, she is getting out and is all over the  gardens much to Teallach's disgust. He has had the whole area to himself since he came to live with us three years ago.
We had a long discussion about sharing the other day but, I don't think it's done much good. I do hope though that they find a way to work it out, thought last night we heard a bit of a fight going on.

Well that's me for now, have a lovely day whatever you are doing and see you soon,

Well at least the new cat is not a boy or it could be worse. When I was at work at one particular company they offered flu jabs to all of the workforce ( idea bring to cut down on sickness over the winter months). I and another workmate had the jab and both went down with flu and we're off work for 2 weeks together ! Not had a jab since. This is a spectacular background on your card. I love the effect of the oxides but I must and will desist in buying any. Mind you Nec is coming up shortly and if they are on offer ...........!

What a beautiful card Kate!! I love this poinsettia pattern and your work with the oxides is just wonderful!! Love the contrast between the vibrant red, the jet black and the striking white accents! So festive and elegant!

Tis the season for colds! My whole family seems to be under the weather recently. I'm not sure how I escaped it this year so far, but I haven't had a single flu or cold all year! Fingers crossed my luck holds out. lol. sending hugs :)

A gorgeous card Kate, your poinsettia background stamp looks fabulous embossed in white.
I have a flu jab every year and fingers crossed always avoid the flu even though hubby usually gets it!
Cats certainly can be territorial can't they, I'm sure they will sort it out between themselves.

Wow this is beautiful. I hate cats fighting I must say. As for the flu jab we are entitled but not getting them.

I understand the cats problems... I have seven cats and my oldest female hate the new six ones! LOL
I have to take her at home while the others are outdoor, because they fight so much even if the new six are here by three years! :(
Your poinsettias card is just a delight!!! Such wonderful way to use that big CB stamp with oxides! Love it so much!

Stunning card design Kate great job with the stamp. I thought your comment about having a talk with Teallach was so funny. Cats certainly have their own mind about things. The flu has started here where I live, I get the shot every year just in case.

Gorgeous card, you've shown off that lovely stamp perfectly. Had my flu jab in. September, trying to persuade Mum to have one, but a bit of an uphill struggle there! Hope your poor puddy regains his territory or at least finds a compromise x

Awhat a magnificent Poinsettia card Kate.. Absolutely Stunning. You made me smile at the thought of Teallach snubbing the new neighbours cat. How dare he/ she invade his territory. Be in touch and see what Day suits for a catch up. Hugs Rita xxxx

A really beautiful card Kate. It screams Christmas! When I reached that age I had the flu jab two years running. I was ill for three days the first time and in bed with severe flu for 5 days the second time so haven't had it since. Like you I don't often suffer from coughs and colds - now that's temping fate isn't it! Barbxx
