Spring Fairy Plaque!

Hello to You All, I hope you are enjoying your day and that your weather is better than ours. I had to put socks on SOCKS!! it's almost the end of June, what's the weather playing at??? It's been dull too more like April  really.

Thank you for your visits and comments on my cards, you are all so kind and I do appreciate the time it takes going from blog to blog.

I've got an evening to myself as hubby is away to his little music group, so I'm going to indulge myself by watching Versailles on the iPlayer, it's the last one and I'm missing it already.
 However Outlander will be starting on channel 4more on Thursday, for those who like costume dramas, history and a gorgeous leading man gadding about in 17th century kilts. This is based on Diana Gabbledon's books which I read years ago, and she even came to Inverness to do a reading and it was a great night of questions about her books. Of course, much of the story in the first book takes place in and around Inverness at the time of the Battle of Culloden.... and I live just down the road from the battlefield, which is a favourite walk for us. We never see the ghosts of the defeated Highlanders though. Now I've already watched this series on Amazon Prime and can thoroughly recommend viewing.

Here is my project for today;

Another Fairy plaque using images from the Summer Fairy set of stamps,  from Chocolate Baroque, but I've used the Spring stamp from Breath of Spring set. The butterfly flourish is also CB. Imagination Crafts beautiful vine stencilled through with Starlight Paints which I've also used to paint the background on the MDF butterfly.
So I've only the very large and the smallest butterflies to decorate now, I've enjoyed doing them and these two are hanging in our bedroom.

Here are a couple of photos from Outlander, just to whet your appetite;

Jamie is just as good in breechies as a kilt.

That's me for tonight, take care and see you soon,

White Christmas for CCC!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I know there are a few of my lovely crafting friends struggling just now, so I just want to let you know that I am thinking of you and sending out kind thoughts that your pain will ease.

Well, that's two weeks gone already, just whizzes by doesn't it.. and it's time once again for the Christmas Card Club ladies to show there Christmas cards. This time around it's our lovely Lorraine who is hosting the theme and she would like to see "White Christmas", here are mine.

 I decided to go with white on white for the challenge, and I've used I think what is a Sheena Douglass embossing folder on this first card and a Chloe Christmas Rose stamp, heat embossed on to acetate with WOW EP, the flourishes are also from Chloe. The sentiment is from Creative Stamping Magazine and I've added a crystal dazzler to the flower.
This card has once again an embossing folder which I think is by Sara Davis, as are the Snowflake dies. Sentiment dies are from Die'sire and finishing off with some crystals.

I hope these will meet with Lorraine's approval, I did love making them and love the Chloe stamps which I've not used before even although I've had them a year or so.

Please make sure you visited the other CCC ladies to see what they create.

Thank you all so much for your comments on my Lotus Flower card, you are so kind.
Take care and see you soon,

Lotus Flower!

Hello Everyone and how are You All today? I hope everyone is well, but sending kind thoughts to those of you who are not too good, and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Well our weather really did what it said it was going to do today, thunderstorms and down pouring rain. I was over with the pups and they were quite alarmed by the rumbling thunder, and the battering downpour, we were huddled up on the sofa together, now the sun is out, typical summer weather.
I hope you have had better weather wherever you are.

Thank you all so much for all the lovely comments on my last card, I appreciate everyone of them.

I've a card today that I made some time ago but never got around to posting it;
An Indigo Blue stamp and coloured with Inkintense Pencils from Derwent, a little shading over the background with DI. I think the Hello is a freebie and I've added Just Pearls in Copper.
Just a wee simple card, but quite effective.

That's me for now, off to get the Chilli made, a favourite of Alistair's, so I'll say cheerio for now and see you soon,

Keep Climbing!

Hello to You All, I hope you are having  a good weekend with some good weather. We are a bit overcast, but it's warm, in fact it feels like it could be a bit thundery and there are dark clouds which herald rain.
I decided to treat Hubby to a nice lunch out and friends recommended Tiso, the outdoor shop as they had a lovely cafe, so that's what we did and it was lovely, and it gave Alistair an opportunity to look at bikes. He's decided he needs a new one, and right enough, the one he uses just for going short cycles was out of the dump years ago,and since then he has fitted new wheels, tyres, brakes, and I don't know what all else. So I certainly don't grudge him a new one. He is astounded at the price of them now, around £600 and upwards into the £1000s. Most of them come with disc brakes which for Alistair means that if they break he won't be able to mend it himself, so it seems these latest bikes cost a lot to maintain. However, my only input is that he never spends money on himself so just go for it if you want.  He could still be in a quandary this time next year, he takes his time in making up his mind.

Anyway, I want to thank you all on the lovely comments on my last cards, I always appreciated them and the time you take to visit me.

Here is what I have for you today;
Card made for Alistair's friend who like him is a climber, but unfortunately he is badly in need of a hip replacement but is terrified of the op, so Alistair wanted a wee card to give him a bit of encouragement.
Stamp by Our Daily Bread, the sentiment also, it's from a religious set of stamps with various  quotes from the bible, but this is a fab stamp for Willie. Kept a simple black and white colour theme. I hope it does the trick for him. They have been friends from school days and share their love of climbing from that earlier time when they decided there must be something better out there than the back courts of the Glasgow tenements and street corners, and they have climbed all over the world together.

The postie has just been and delivered some Oxide Inks, away to have a play with them now.
Enjoy your weekend and see you soon,

Discovery!

Hello Everyone, I hope you've a a good day whatever you've been doing.

Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday wishes, and I did have a lovely day, a quiet one but nothing wrong with that. In the afternoon I was with Milo and Rowan who gave me beautiful yellow roses... now how did they know that yellow is my favourite colour. Anyway, it's all over , but at least I can sit and admire the beautiful cards received from family and friends. A former work colleague phoned that I last saw about a year ago, and we had a lovely long chat, I was so surprised that she had remembered my birthday as I can't remember hers.

Thanks also for the many lovely comments on my last card, you are all so kind.

I have a card to share tonight,
One of my new stamps from Crafty Individuals called Discovery, stamped in Nautical Blue from Momento Inks. background paper is also from Crafty Individuals, all beautiful nautical images.
The seagull is from CB and the ship's wheel and anchor are freebies from Creative Stamping Magazine. It's all stamped in blue with Silver Sakura pen for a but of sparkle. The sentiment is CB.

Just a card for my box, you never know  when you'll need a male card, having said that I wouldn't be put out to receive a nautical themed card, I love sailing ships and have been lucky to be one the real Discovery, Captain Scott's ship for going to the Antarctic... or is it the Arctic ... I never remember. Many years ago I go to go on the Victory, for those who might not know it was Admiral Nelson's Flag ship, now that was an amazing visit, and we were taken around by sailors dressed in the clothes of the day, very interesting.

So, that's all for the time being, keep well everyone and see you soon,

Anything Goes CCC!

Hello to Everyone, how are you all today. well I hope but sending good wishes to those who are not doing so well just now and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Another two weeks have past very quickly I might add, and that means it's time for the CCC ladies to share their Christmas cards. Sylvie is our hostess this time around and she has chosen Anything Goes.
 So here are my cards for this challenge;

Both cards use stamps from Crafty Individuals, the tree is a new one and I so love trees so had to have it. DI making the sky and lots of Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium for the snow.

My second card is a wonderful image, left mainly in the black with just a splash of red as you can see, again lots of sparkle and the background is CE Pixie Powders in Fireburst.. First Edition sentiment die, a couple of black dazzlers and a bit of wobbly hand drawing around the edges.

I do like an Anything Goes, so thank you Sylvie for the challenge, I hope you like them.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post, I always love to read what you have to say, and appreciate the time you take to pop in.

Well it's been a momentous week and it's not over yet.... I guess the Fat Lady as they say hasn't finished singing, except she's not fat, but strong and stable like a Queen Anne Leg LOL.  That's enough of politics.
More momentousness tomorrow as I will be another year older, how did that happen?? Nothing special happening, but we did go to a marvellous concert last night and we will go for a spot of lunch later today. It's the Choral AGM tomorrow night and I will be at that.

It's raining here and quite dull, after all the lovely weather it's disappointing but it is what it is.

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you're doing, and see you soon,

New Baby!

Hello Everyone, I do hope you are well and having a good day. We are dull and chilly here, so not so nice weather, but hey ho, that's Scottish weather for you.

Another quick post today,sharing a card made for my BiL's new Grandson Harrison, Jim is is thrilled as the baby is his first Grandchild. I was hoping that when Alistair was down visiting Jim last week that he would be able to see him, but that didn't work out, anyway, here is the card and box;

I used a sweet LOTV Art Card, no longer available, and cut it out with a SB die shape, paper is  by  First Edition, it's a Boy, Memory Box and Xcut dies, WO flowers and pearls, lots of glitter. Paper on box is also by First Edition and a little bow.

It was lovely to make this, not something I really do much of as there are not many people in my circle of friends who are having babies.

I thought I would show you another couple of photos from our holiday of the amazing floral arrangements made for the Flowers Festival, these were for competitions;

There were so many wonderful displays , the creativity was amazing.

Well that's me for today,  off to do a bit of ironing, groan, groan.  Enjoy your evening and see you soon,

Fairy Butterfly Plaque!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  I've had a quiet time with Teallach, but that will all change tonight when Alistair gets home. I think his visit to his brother has been a successful one and Jim is much better.

A wet day today, shame as I've got bedding I want out, but I doubt that will happen now. We had a real big thunderstorm over the weekend, quite spectacular really but glad I was indoors.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last card, you are all so kind, and I do appreciated each and every one of them.

Something a wee bit different today;
 I bought a set of these butterfly MDF shapes a few years ago when I first went to the Birmingham craft show and they have been in my cupboard unused, I thought it was time to change that.

I whited Gessoed the shape and then added DI before stamping with various CB stamps. As the stamps are silhouette I stamped them with Black Versafine and added clear embossing powder.
I've coloured the Fairy's wings with gel pens and added glitter to her. Sequins and flower gems finished the plaque off.
This is a close up .  I've not worked much with MDF and found that it was difficult to add the DI over the Gesso, anyway it's my second entry for the current challenge.
So, that is all for today, I'm now away to see Milo and Rowan, and no doubt we will all have a wee snooze as the afternoon goes on, it's a dull day that makes you tired.

Enjoy your day whatever your doing,
I would like to enter my project into http://chocolatebaroquechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/challenge-thirty-five-end-of-era.html

McIntosh Beauty!

Just a quick pop in today to say hello to you all and post my latest card for the Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge, sadly their final one.  I do feel quite sad that they are stopping the challenges, I always enjoyed them and working with all the fabulous colour combinations that the challenges presented me.  Anyway, I'm sure CB will be coming up with other things to involve those of us who love their stamps.
Here is the colours for this challenge;
 and here is my card, a bit difficult to  photograph
I've used the gorgeous lady image for the McIntosh Beauty stamp set and heat embossed in white embossing powder and added a little colour with various alcohol pens. Background has been coloured with Versacolour and then the pretty Rose image stamped on.  Just a simple design.
I always think that she looks like a bride, but I've no brides coming up, so she is a Medieval Lady.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my last post and about my holiday snaps, I do have some more, but for another time.

Running Alistair to the bus station in a wee while as he is going to Glasgow for a few day to visit Jim, who seems to be getting over his viral illness, thankfully, but it has really pulled him down as these nasty things do. So it's just me and Puss and a quiet time.

See you soon, enjoy your day whatever you're doing,
