Tulips!

Hello to Everyone, thank you all for your visits and comments, I do appreciate the time it takes so I'm pleased that  you pop in.

How are you all doing? well I hope and enjoying your weekend..gosh almost at the end of January, time is marching on.

We've had a quiet weekend, I have been sorting out my craft room, which includes sorting out space for all the yarn I have, I must stop buying the stuff. I've found lots of gorgeous yarn obviously meant for a project, but can I remember what...can I hang! Anway, I'm having a good old clear out of stash I've bought at the beginning of my crafting journey, and maybe used once, or not used at all. Create and Craft have a lot to answer for. It's a good exercise to find out what you have.

Thanks for your kind words about these pains I have, I can only think it's athritis, and basiclly it's just a case of taking pain killers. Having had a scan on my legs and knee that was giving me trouble early last year, nothing was found and was told, well it's your age and diabetes. Well, maybe so, but it felt dismissive, so now I don't bother to go to the doctors for aches and pains.  My mum, many years ago when she began to feel sore, always said that the doctors didn't care all that much when you were old, I thought that couldn't possibly be so and that she was just exagerating, now I'm not so sure.   Heavens above too, I'm not old, but there you go.

My card today is for the CB Colour Challenge 31;

I've used the lovely Tulip stamp which was one of the AYOS stamps the other year, it's one of my favourite stamps from that collection.
I've coloured the imaged with SN Aqua pens, and the background is coloured with DI and  swirly images form  The Gift stamp set also from CB.
SB die, Creative expressions Antique Gold, Just Pearls and some Glossy Accents and job done.

I was awfully lucky to be in the top 3 from last months challenge, I get really excited when that happens lol.

Well, that's Endeavor on now so must say cherrio for now, take care and see you soon,

Going to Seed!

Hello Everyone,  hope all is well with you.

What a glorious day today weather wise, sunshine all the way, coldish but lovely. Alistair and his friend Derek climbed two mountains in Kintail, he can hardly move now.

I had a day off from the pups, have to say I was pleased, I was tired and in a bit of pain, and the worst of that is that I can't quite say where the pain is, other than in my right side, so it's been painkillers today and doing things slowly.

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last card, and tips about Pinterest.  I fiddled away with it today and have the save it button back, had to do it through Firefox as that's my browser, so at least I can pin and save, but the boards on Pinterest that I'd been saving to have disappeared, but do you know what..... I don't care, life is too short to spend any more time on it.

My card today uses a lovely Crafty Individual image which I've heat embossed in black on to CC Kraft card with is a little lighter than the normal kraft card. added a few black flowery sequins and that's that. It was a simple card, but I think very effective and of course Crafty Individual images are so lovely.

I'm keeping this a shortish post tonight, as I'm going back to my knitting which I had to take back because of glaring mistakes, so I'll finish up here and see you soon, take care,

Alphabet Birthday Card!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, but if not sending positive thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I'm now on my laptop, it's good to have it back and working so much better.  However everything had to be wiped off as there were so many viruses, the technician backed up what was important and not much of that, just photos, and some of them for my blogging posts, but I've lost passwords, and for the life of me I can't workout how to get a pinterest button so that I can save to my boards, which I can't find either. I've been on to the help page, but can't make head nor tail of it, I honestly don't know how I did it before, I must have lost some little grey cells since then.
I had to work out how to connect to wireless and install the printer. It's been a pain, but that's technology for you.  If anyone out there can tell me how to sort pinterest I would be so pleased.  I seem to have lost my boards too.
Good job I keep a book with all the various passwords or I'd have been stumped. I have Windows 10 but that needed an important update and now it's all a bit different again, wasn't life so much simpler before all of this kind of stuff!!

Anyway, the card your seeing is Damian's birthday card, his birthday is today, and although he is now 46, it seems like yesterday he arrived.

The dies are Sue Wilson and the design is from the brilliant John Lockwood. When I watched him make this on Hochanda last year I thought what a great design for my son. I bought the Alphabet dies, but didn't have much else. I hadn't realised that he had cut the dies with sticky stuff and could then put the black glitter on the spaces. I did it with a quickie glue pen and let me tell you that was a labour of love, took absolutely ages, saying this Damian liked it saying it was smart!! I used the colours of his favourite football team.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last couple of cards, much appreciated.

Just before I go I thought I'd show you what Rowan got up to yesterday;
I hadn't noticed that whilst she was snuggling into me that she was nibbling away at my cardi, couldn't believe it and the worst thing is that it's cashmere and I loved it.  I bought it a few years ago when I could still afford to when I was still working. I was too stunned I couldn't be angry, so lesson learnt wear old togs when doing the Grandpet sitting. It's a cosy card so I will keep it for wearing around the house.

So that's me for now, take care of yourselves and see you soon,

North Star or Stars for the CCC!

Good Morning to Everyone, hoping all is well with you and that your weekend is going well, mine is a quiet one and pleased enough with that.

I'm still without my laptop, it's had to cleared of everything and then data put back on. A major Windows 10 updated needed installing, which for some reason was being prevented,all a mystery to me I'm afraid, but I should have the machine back tomorrow.
Now this means that I can't link up to the CCC blog with this weeks  challenge, but at least I can post on here.

So,this time around its Maureen who has chosen the theme and it's to be Stars and the North Star if you can, here's what I've managed;

The first card is made with one of the wonderful Imagination Crafts stencils and painted with Starlights.
The Peace sentiment is from a First Editions die.
Second card uses a Sue Wilson dies and again coloured with Starlights, mounted on to a lovely EF from Sara  Davis,which has been brushed over with  Creative Expressions Gilding Polish in red, the sentiment is the negative of the one on the first card.

Hopefully I've managed to meet the challenge Maureen, I enjoyed doing them, as it made me use a couple of DL base cards. So thank you Maureen.

Thanks too for your visits and lovely comments, I do appreciate every one of them.
Please have a look at what the other CCC ladies create,they are always marvellous.
Have a lovely Sunday and see you soon.
Hugs Kate x  ðŸ˜‰

Belle Flowers!

Hello Everyone, hoping you are all well.

I'm still without my laptop, I thought I would have it back today but when I went to collect it, the technician couldn't get the pointer to move,so I left it with him, but now there seems to be other problems, it's only about 3 years old so I'm pretty disappointed by the whole thing. I'll phone tomorrow to find out the state of play.
It's a pain as there are things things that I can't do blogwise on my tablet that I can do on a PC.

Anyway at least I can post as the photo of today's card has not been transferred to my laptop;
Using one of the beautiful CB background stamps, Belle  Flowers, I coloured with Derwent Inkintense  Pencils,  having first heat embossed with Wow powder in Silver. Matted on to Blue Central Pearl  card, strangely looking green in the photo . Sentiment from CB Floral  Notes.
I think that this stamp is too lovely to be kept in the background.

A big thank you to all of you for visiting and leaving  your  kind comments.
Also a warm welcome to Donna who is my latest follower,  I hope you will pop in often. I have tried to find you Donna, but I can't find your blog,if you pop in again perhaps you would leave me a link,so that I can return the visit.

That's all from me for now,so take care of yourselves till next time,
Hugs Kate x 😉

Warm Wishes!

Hello to you all from a cold and snowy Inverness.  Winter at last!
I hope everyone is well and enjoying your weekend.  I'm on my own with Teallach as hubby has gone down to Glasgow for a few days to visit his brother.  The Puss and I do love a wee break on our own, and because of the weather I've been pretty much indoors with him.

My laptop is in the hospital so doing this post on my tablet, so fingers crossed it's going to be okay,  so I'm keeping this  short.

Now I make no apologies for a  Christmas card as they are my favourite type of card.
This was a new die I bought before Christmas but didn't get around to using it, it's by Sweet Dixie.  Although the bird is sitting on holly, I guess you could cut around it and the bird could be used at any time of the year.  Anyhow I've made him robin and coloured him with the wonderful Starlight  paints from  Imagination Crafts.
I had the embossing folder in my stash for ages but don't know where from.  Sentiment die from First Editions and a bit of Creative Expression red  gilding Polish.
Imagination Crafts Just Pearl's, and some red pearls for holly berries.

Thank you all for visiting me and leaving those lovely comments on my last card and about Rowan too, she is doing really well and getting along fine with Milo.

Take care everyone and see you soon,
Hugs Kate x 😉

Musical Fanfare and Rowan!

Hello Everyone how are you all today?  Well I hope.
I am feeling much better thankfully, still a bit of the snuffles, and blood sugars are still up, but getting there. Alistair too is much better, thank you all so much for your get well wishes, and also for the lovely comments on my CCC cards.

Well, without further ado, here is Rowan;
 Rowan is our newest family member and she is a 10 week old Cocker Spaniel. Damian sent me word this morning that she is now in her new home. I had no idea that he and Moreen were thinking of another dog, but she will be company for Milo. She is absolutely adorable and tiny compared to Milo when he first arrived.  She is a gorgeous chocolate colour, and of course I hot footed it over to have a cuddle,
Milo is very taken with her and she with him, and the cats are fine too.  She is just a wee bundle of gorgeousness, but Milo is making sure that he is still getting plenty of cuddles too. So, there you go another Grandpet.
Now, I think it was Shirley who was asking if the animals in my photos were mine, so just to say they are my Son and DIL's. They have never wanted children, their animals are their babies. My own fur baby is a gorgeous cat who goes by the name of Teallach, and is loved to bits.

Anyway, I do have a card,
Another for the CB colour challenge and this time using stamps from the Musical Fanfare and Swirly Pets.  I made the background with DI watered down and my card swished over the ink, added a frame around the card with a little charcoal pencil.. watched Lesley doing this on the CB shows on Hochanda, and them silver pen. A few sequins and that's it done.
I'm getting a few of these 5x5 cards made up and boxed to give as a gift.

That's all from me today, it's nasty wet day, in fact the kind of day you just want to stay in and craft, or knit... unless of course you're going to see a new puppy, but I've done that, so I'm heading off to my craft room now.
Enjoy your day and see you soon , and thanks so much for your visits,

Anything Goes for the Christmas Card Club!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and not suffering with a cold as I am, yes it was bound to happen, Alistair shared his cold with me, and I'm feeling miserable, so you will be pleased to hear that this will be a short post.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my last card, and to say hello to Pat who has left a lovely first comment.

Would you believe it's time for us CCC gals to show our new Christmas cards......so sorry!!! I know, I know, most of you will be saying what the ......heck, Christmas has just gone. However, we are a little band of crafters who want to get ahead with the Christmas card making and not have to panic at the last minute, so every two weeks one of us chooses a theme and we all try to come up with something.  It's a good way to make sure you have at least 24 cards... is my maths correct!

So, this is the first Challenge of the year and chosen by our stalwart coordinator Margaret, or Duchess as she is known in Blogland, and it's an easy one, Anything Goes;
 My first card uses a gorgeous snowflake stencil and Diamond Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts, the black card is also from them, and my cute little snow fella is a die given to me by my friend Mrs. Duck, which incidentally came along with bags of spices and a recipe for Aloo Gobi, which I am going to attempt when I feel better.
Now this little number is all made with freebies from a magazine the name of which escapes me for the moment, but there is an igloo embossing folder and a few little cute critters.  I decided on the penguins having a snowball fight. I've tried to make a Northern Lights sky with DI and I've made a background with Pixi Powders from Creative Expressions..... I need a bit of practise with them.

Please have a look at what the other ladies make, there are always wonderful cards from them, and if anyone would like to join us, please get in touch with either me or one of the other CCC Ladies and get ahead with it, we would love to see some new folk join us.

Hope you are having a fab weekend.. me well I'm doping up with the old paracetamol and a box of tissues, see you all soon,

Back to Normal?? and Honeysuckle Butterflies!

Hello Everyone, first post of the year and hoping you all had a very good Festive Time. I don't know about you, but I am pleased to be getting back to some kind of normal.

We had a lovely Christmas at Damian and Moreen's home with all the pets, and of course it was Milo's first Christmas and he was beside himself with excitement. Teallach too, had a rare time with the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows, wasn't all that fussed about his treats.

New Year found Alistair poorly so that we didn't make it to our friends, but home was the best place for him, so it was a quiet time too
But my goodness, I feel like I never want to eat again, stuffed to the gunwales, I dare not step on the scales.  New eating regime from now one.

Now I tried to have a bit of a break from blogging, so you might find less comments than usual, but I've seen wonderful projects on my reading list.  Also thank you for the lovely comments on my last card.

My card today is for the CB Colour Challenge;

I've used the main image from the Honeysuckle Butterfly stamp set, and coloured with DI. Embossed background with a folder from Sheena Douglass from her Indian Collection, this was given to me by my lovely friend Mrs. Duck. The sentiment is from the Floral Notes collection.
Pants photo as ever, sorry.

To finish off my post today, here is Milo in his new towel robe he got for Christmas;
He greeted us at the door with it on and wore it most of the day.
Here are Alistair, Damian and Milo relaxing after having washed up the dinner dishes. Notice the big bag of M&S chocolates by the side of Alistair, had them all but gone before we got home, he's now blaming the scales for telling him awful news.
This time joined by Alfie, he is a gorgeous boy and he isn't around much so I snapped him when I had the chance.

Chocolate Baroque are now on Hochanda with Lesley doing her second show of the day at 5o'clock, off to watch it in a few minutes. I'm so pleased that they have finally teamed up with them as they are a huge favourite of mine.

Thank you all for your visits and see you soon,
