Festive Birds for the Christmas Card Club!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well and have enjoyed your day. We had warmth and sunshine..can you believe it, it's the 1st of October???

Well I'm here with the next Challenge for the CCC and this post will be scheduled for tomorrow. I nearly missed the date as somehow I thought it was next Sunday, and if I hadn't seen Lorraine's post I would have been very late indeed. Where has the time gone...ney! where has the year gone??

This time Mrs. A, our lovely Valery wants to see cards with Festive Birds on them, here is what I came up with;
A Cardinal Bird image, digital but not sure where from, water coloured and matted on to card cut with a Tonic die set. Embossilicious Folder, twine and some gems. The sentiment was part of a Candy win from Lorraine, and such a useful sentiment it is.
Now this is a lovely image from Kanban which I've had for ages and not used, as it's a Christmas stamp, I take it the bird is a Robin, but with his back towards the front. Coloured with Pencils this time, decoupaged the holly for a wee bit of dimension.

Always love using bird images so thank you Valery for choosing this them.

On my own with Teallach this weekend, Alistair away for the traditional October Adventure, still while  he is away playing, I was away buying, heee heee.  Bought a sewing machine, been wanting one for a while, like years and I've hummed and hemmed as to whether It would get used, and if I had room for it. Well I eventually worked out that it would and I have. Not an all dancing, singing one, I leave that sort to my friend Dale as she is a sewer, in fact I think she took a mortgage out for hers. This one is a level up from basic, and a Singer. So I'm happy, just trying how to work out" oh but I've had it for ages dear" sort of statement for when the Adventurer gets home. Somehow I don't think it'll work this time.

Do visit the other ladies of the club if you have time and see their lovely cards on this theme.
Thank you all for your visits and your kind comments on my last card.

See you soon, cheerio for now,

Two beautiful and very different cards Kate, both appeal to me in different ways the cardinal as it is not native to us and the robin because it is. Enjoy your sewing machine you'll find it so useful

Two beauties Kate, the cardinal is a lovely image but I think the second has to be my favourite today with the holly and I agree, I'm sure it is a Robin if he were to turn around.

I did think about a photo as you mention but truth is I'm not even sure when the album is, seems ages ago we had it out.

Two beautiful cards Kate and I especially like the image and the layout of your second card, it's beautiful. I hope you have fun with your new sewing machine. I haven't taken mine out of the cupboard for years but a a young Mum, I used to make clothes for myself and the children all of the time. I'm not sure that I would know where to start now:) Take care and enjoy your Sunday. Sandra x

Two super cards Kate. Mary will love your first one too. Have fun with your sewing machine. I have had mine for donkeys years (about 1988) and it was all singing and dancing - did everything but make the toast I think - but I used hardly any of teh fancy stuff. Strangely enough, having not used it for years, I have started doing a little sewing agin. Must be in the air. Hugs Christine xx PS had a great day yesterday but I hope it didn't tire Ang too much.

Am loving both of these pretty cards (but you'll know #1 stole my heart - of course). The fancy filigree circle on #1 really sets off that gorgeous fella. The Kanban bird is also very handsome, and I've never seen any K. images like this. Well done, Kate! Yay on the machine, and you deserve to have a treat. This will be a most useful treat, as you can not only do some crafts with it, but mending as well. And I liked the "oh I've had it for years"...That made me chuckle. TFS & Big hugs.

They are to beautiful cards Kate. I love cards with birds on and don't know why I don't use them more.

What a lovely frame that is round your cardinal but I think my favourite is the second card. He's a really sweet image and could probably be used in lots of colourways. Barbxx

Hi Kate

Yes, we had a lovely little break thank you. Now back to reality!

Loving your two cards. I seem to use birds more in the run up to Christmas .. .. must be the love of the robin that does it!

How exciting to have found a sewing machine you are happy with. I am sure the Adventurer won't mind!

Love Jules xx
